- The Remarkables are a spectacular mountain range and ski field in stunning Queenstown, New Zealand. You can see The Remarkables when you're out and about in Queenstown but did you know you can go right up it too (even if you don't ski or snowboard)?
There are other things to do at The Remarkables other than snow sports and it's well worth a visit just for the magnificent views up on the mountain.
If you're driving up, make sure you check the snow/weather report online before heading up The Remarkables. It will let you know all the current conditions and whether snow chains are required for your vehicle too:

We went in winter and it was pretty muddy at the carpark. If you're planning on doing the scenic activities we did, be sure to dress warm (warmer than we did at least with some gloves, thermals and beanies) and make sure you wear sunscreen plus take water with you.

Fergbaker is right next to the famous Fergburger and it's open 7 days as week. You'll find delicious baked goodies as well as hot and cold drinks there too.

Those windy roads on the mountains in Queenstown is giving me flashbacks to when I just sat there looking out of the car window at the snowy mountains when I went there. ❄️🏔

Hahaha yes it was pretty cold up there but sometimes you just have to suck it up and go anyway
I am so glad that you guys went to the top of the ski field as I recommended before. If you have gloves and walking poles, it would be much easier. Lake Alta looked very different a week after you visited. I skied to the point close to the lake and saw the ice lake.

We were there in January. Queenstown was indeed beautiful and night sky was still light at 11pm. Fergburger was delicious, so much varieties at fergbaker, I had different gourmet sandwiches.
The sun usually settles much later in the day during summer 😁 sounds like you had a great time in queenstown

Another great video guy's. - your walk to lake Alta was a funny moment, especially in the end when the lake was covered in snow...I feel for you Pete & Yen, but at least you gave it a go.- me, i would have been too lazy to walk - i would have just taken the chair lift. lol. Always enjoy watching your vlogs guy's.
Hahahaha it was a fun experience and in the end we've got a good story to tell people about getting to lake Alta... in terms of toughness probably rate it 7/10 pretty tiring 😅
The name "The Remarkables" made me think of The Incredibles... Like a knock off of the Disney movie😁. You might have mentioned it in a pervious vid, but didn't remember Peter was a little apprehensive of heights...especially because of all the high places you go. View looked like it was worth it. Looked amazing 🏔🏔🏔. Can hear the exhaustion in both of your voices on the hike to the lake... I still think it was a high five moment. Good job🙌🙌🙌 Looks like the food reward at the end made it all worth it. Great job guys! Stay safe and happy travels~
I'm a bit apprehensive of heights and water. Can't swim well had a fear after almost drowning as a kid. And heights I dunno they just make my legs jelly. But that aside can't let it stop me enjoying the water in summer or climbing high things. Fear is just a figment of your imagination 😂
This was pretty exhausting. Going up hill on snow a lot more challenging than expected 😅 the pie made it all worth it 👌
Shadow Basin chairlift is more for advanced skiers comparing to the other lifts.
Ooooo I see sounds intense. Some of the areas the skiers were coming down looked so steep
You guys have to be starving after that crazy day! Lamb shank pie would be my choice too 👍
After we got back I regret not trying more of the pies now cause that lamb shank was bomb as 👌

1:51 that view looks amazing! It's great how they made space to stop there. I'm always so sad when we're driving and there's no place to take any photos whenever there are stunning views like that
New Zealand is really good like that. Usually there is a decent place to pull off and take some pictures.

I got my first Covid vaccine yesterday, once you get it you actually feel so exhausted but apparently got to wait 48 hours for the symptoms to subside

I always hate it whenever the ski lift stops since it means I have to stay on it for longer 😅 but as long as I avoid looking down it's pretty manageable haha
