First of all, Motoman, I have become a die-hard fan of your series. I love your tech reviews, the relationships you have cultivated with the manufacturers, and the detail in which you go into the design of the vehicles you review. I get so much more information from your series than many of the other big names out there, so thank you again.
+KvotheYSL21 Secondly, I am currently interested in a Nissan Armada. The SUV part because space for me and space for stuff on long road trips I will take because I drive across country every time I want to go home. The Big engine and towing part because I want to trailer my Pontiac GTO. And the bigness because go big or go home :D Also I will not be hindered by snow, rain, or the end of the world.
I own a ML, and I find it extremely useful for Snowboarding and Camping. I bought Weathertech molded rubber mats for the entire interior, so it's protected from the elements (snow, leaves, mud, etc) and I like to keep my equipment inside, rather than on the roof rack. This is partly because I don't like roof rack storages and think they look ugly, and it's just more convenient to use the rear cargo. It's also useful for groceries because it has a lot of room. I live in Canada where we have a lot of snow, and the tire size/ground clearance + AWD makes the vehicle handle very well in any snowstorm, so I know my wife and future kids will be safe.
I live on the east coast with wife and 3 kids. We love our GL450 and we use it for road trips, ski trips and beach trips. Amazing cruiser with on/off road package for when it gets really rough.
Owner of 2016 GL350 BLUETEC: You want to know what people who own these do? Well, we do a lot actually. We do the normal things like the the school run. But we also take lots of long road trips with 4 of us, luggage and 2 labradors. Don’t even need a roof rack, that’s how cavernous this thing is. This car does a 10hr, 500 mile road trip easily. The V6 turbodiesel makes it easy. It does both pavement and dirt, no problem. We haul things. With 7500lbs of towing capacity, this thing is a beast for a unibody SUV. We haul boats and horses and other various trailers with it, no problem. We do light off road, perfectly capable. This thing is amazing. That’s what we do with it. Here’s why we don’t have a Land Rover Range Rover, Infinity QX70 or QX 80, Cadillac Escalade (regular and ESV), Audi Q7, etc... Range Rover: too expensive and unreliable. We take long road trips. The last thing we want is to be worried about breaking down or actually breaking down. Infinity QX70: too small. Very similar to Audi Q7, the sloping roof doesn’t lend itself to interior space. Plus, the interior feels outdated and not as luxurious as the Big Benz Infinity QX80: it’s basically a boat. The damn thing is massive, ugly and just too big. It drives terribly and just isn’t great. Same gripes with the interior as with the QX70 Escalade: expensive, drinks fuel, too big, drives bad. Nuff said. Audi Q7. Not big enough. Doesn’t hold as much as stuff as Mercedes. It’s actually a great car, and if we didn’t regularly need a lot of space like the Benz, we would probably have one. Our 2015 A4 2.0T QUATTRO was fantastic and we just replaced with a truly amazing 2018 A4 2.0T QUATTRO. There, now you know.
Well said. I love my 2018 GLS550. I feel like the king of the road when I'm driving it..and it goes beautifully with my S Class sedan. You just can't beat these vehicles for overall quality, value and performance.
We are American - we want everything bigger and better. I need the room for my family and shopping….everyone has an Escalade, I wanted something a little different, and in my opinion this model (I have the 2016) a bit more sophisticated. The safety factor is a huge selling point. Love the driver assist package.
Casino Royale is my favorite Bond movie. I've never been a huge Bond fan. I didn't really like the goofy gadgets and over-the-top villains. I much prefer grounded realism. But I still appreciate Bond's cultural impact, and I think Casino Royale is the very best example of how to pay homage to a storied franchise while simultaneously setting it up for the new generation. Everything was spot-on, from the twist on the "through the barrel shot" to how he starts out driving a Focus before winning an Aston Martin to the closing line of the movie being, "Bond, James Bond."
+Antenox, I feel the same way! Casino Royal had a big "WHAT!?!?-effect", because it started up in black and white, and the entire mood in James Bond changed with the appearance of Daniel Craig who, by the way, in my opinion is the better James Bond. I'm aware, that Sean Connery is regarded as the all time best James Bond character, but it was many years ago, and times has changed! What Sean Connerys and Daniel Craigs interpretations of the James Bond character have in common, is the cynisism, and I'm having a very hard time to see, who can replace Daniel Craig when time comes!
I agree. Daniel Craig as Bond is sophisticated and kicks ass. Smart and smooth. Connery is the original. The look of the first movies in the early 60's is captivating.
I'm not complaining (that much!), but since the price of a MB -AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic Coupé would set me back with approx. 345.684,73 USD (They don't even show the price for the Mercedes Benz GLS at all!!) here in Denmark, and that is without any extras, it won't probably be possible for me in the near future to purchase one of these fine automobiles! Instead I can enjoy MotoMans episodes and appreciate, that it's not all tire smoke and drifting! I appreciate the attention to details and the humor! Thank You, MotoMan! :-)
We have owned a 2009 and currently own a 2013 GL450. We have two young boys and have lived in moderate to snowy climates, Pennsylvania and Wyoming. We tend to haul quite a bit of stuff when we travel. I love these cars. Also in Wyoming where we currently live, the snow can be deep enough to be a problem even with an AWD car. The extra ground clearance will save you. Lastly, we have found that Land Rover and Infiniti have much more limited dealer networks. Audi to a lesser extent. That was a factor. I would have really like to see the 2013 update grow this car by another 5 inches or so. It would be nice to be able to use the third row and have room for luggage. We did have a power steering pump fail (barely under warranty) with the 2009 and we have have poor reliability with the 2013. So that is a concern. When cross shopping the competition, we found that the old Infiniti, Lincoln and Caddy to be too truck-like for my wife. They all drove and especially parked much bigger. Also if you look at the standard Escalade or Denali, they have less useful interior space but are bigger on the exterior. The lexus LX was even more expensive and felt old and smaller. The range rover and the X5 and Q7 were much smaller in terms of actual function and none have usable third rows. If I were seriously shopping this segment currently I would consider the new Q7 (although it is closer to the GLE size wise), new Escalade ESV (actually much roomier), Yukon XL Denali, and possibly the X5. The infiniti is too ugly, badly reviewed and the naming convention too annoying. Also, I really like both Skyfall and Spectre. Very different. I agree that Spectre is more of a traditional Bond movie. If you up the comedy factor slightly you could imagine Connery or Moore in that movie.
Me my family drive a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. There are 6 of us, it seats 7. The middle row is captain seats. We live in Hawai'i & the Aspen is full time 4WD, but we don't ever go off road, it has 5.7 Liter Hemi, but we don't tow, but what it does do is it keeps up spaced out in a vehicle because we are all a little taller & bigger & SUVS have always been something I feel more safe to be in, especially in wet conditions. I can't speak for a lot of people, but I think SUVS are popular because it goes back to that saying, "better to have it & not need it, than to need it than not have it."
I drive around 3 kids, 3 dogs and sometimes their friends. Taking kids to sports, lessons and just fun activities. We have a house 4 hours away we go to once a month where it is freeway, winding roads, and a switchback, that sometimes gets a lot of snow( one time we had to drive my Cadillac SRX backwards to get up the switchback). I am driving a Cadillac Escalade and LOVE IT. 185,000 now and want to buy another SUV but wanted a little bit smaller for parking downtown and such as they are making spaces to park smaller. I love the bucket seats in my Escalade and the third row can fit smaller adults with no problem. That is my only drawback for this car.
My wife has an ML550 and I have an Infiniti QX80. Our 2 children play hockey and the added room is great for hockey sticks. Also, my wife's parents live with us as an extended family. That makes 6 plus hockey gear. It's nice not to take 2 cars to the ice rink. I live in Northern Virginia where the weather has 4 seasons. We both also have safety jobs where snow cannot be a hindrance. They're also nice for those COSTCO trips!
Your answer is: it was our answer to a complex list of needs (Had to be an MB (getting older and want to survive just about any crash we may have), Had to tow a trailer, Had to be diesel, Had to carry large dog(s), Had to be AWD, Had to carry 7 passengers (like when picking up bro-in-law + 4 kids from airport here in Canada. As for "S" opulence, our black '14 GL 350 (AMG sport pkg) feels too opulent at times so I don't know who would buy/need the Brabus GL version or where you'd drive one/park one-maybe lottery winners. The GL is bigger and brasher than an S class in our small city - we wish we could go more 'unnoticed' but do love its layers of sophisticated features only other MB fans fully appreciate.
Can't wait for the 2020 GLS next year ;). I have the current GL 350 (diesel), its essentially one of the best cars to own for a variety of reasons, 7 seats, or 5 seats and a the size of a full station wagon's with its seats folded down, its amazingly comfortable, it gets used with kids, outdoor trips, moving large items around, and most importantly, just being a great car to drive day-to-day, gets around 1200kms / 750 miles on a 100L / 26.5 Gal tank. The GLS looks good, but not an obvious 'must' upgrade for anyone that already has a GL (imo), except maybe if the lease ran out at a convenient time.
Brother... you need to show us interior more. Forget about Bond. Who ever owns this kind of car and (at the same time) is not a slave of that vehicle - ROCKS wherever he/she goes. Kids, wife, girls, dogs... you name it! :-)
I am thinking about purchasing this car for family vehicle. Third row seat and the massive space attracted me. Still considering in btw Range Rover and this one. I was told this will be introduced to the market in March, if I preorder, when do you think I will receive this?
My wife has new escalade and she love it, I have a 2015 gl63 amg. There is nothing I can say bad about it. Perfect suv for anything or almost anything. 16000 miles and never been on a dealer yet. My son had a Range Rover supercharched. For the last year we were 4 times at the dealer with different problems. Sold it at 32000 miles. Never again .
i have the strong feeling that if you buy this or the GLE your getting cheated for your money. Considering the new GLC and S-class is a propper new Mercedes with an amazing interior. These are just sorta facelifts. And I feel the mix of old and new interior is very miss matched.
+philip s (Dishano) The GLS is mercedes second best off road vehicle behind the G class. It is a genuine off roader like a Land Rover Discovery. It is a genuine off road class vehicle and luxury at the same time and it is unfair to compare it to a S class.
Hey MotoMan, So we have a 2014 GL350, thats the diesel. We have 3 kids and a dog. We like the diesel for the better MPGs. We also use it to tow 2 ATVs. We live in NJ and also got it for the 4Matic system because of the winters. All around its just a better put together and thought out car than say the x5 or Q7, and way better than anything GM is putting out. The germans know what they're doing!
I had a GL450 that spent more time at warranty service than at my garage. The exterior changes made took all the grace out of the GL. The front fascia looked far better on the 2013 -2016 model, more aggressive and intimidating. I prefer the GL.
+MotoManTV Well we have the previous GL500 and the reason we bought this is because, they already have an LX 570 and Range Rover but needed something else that was as luxurious and comfortable as a Range Rover, more safety features, could tackle some serious off roading and could comfortably seat 7 adults. Plus we like Mercedes a lot. BTW We live in Nigeria, i just school here
Firstly I'm from Dubai and we have an lx570 and its basically a mom's car. drop off kids to school, then grocery shopping and back home. sometimes we use it for trips, there's not a whole lots you can do with it. we just need the space and these type of vehicles offers that
Even though this is a refresh, I still expected more from MB from the first change in 2013. If this is going to be considered as the S-Class of SUVs, actually make the interior like the S-Class and make it look like its worth more $100k. The interior is just completely dated.
Gla looks like the a. Glc looks like the c class. The gls looks like the ml and nothing like the s class. It's only a name change really. If the full update gls looks just like the new s class, it will be fantastic
+whiteandnerdytuba you are wrong. GLS is the new version of the Mercedes Benz GL and not the ML. So called ML is now called GLE! :) They are creating new related ranks: A - GLA or CLA; C - GLC; E - GLE; S - GLS
I live in miami fl, I have no kids and I drive an ml350. The SUV of choice here in south beach would be a toss up between range rover and the escalade. My reason for sticking with mercedes: Escalade 1. Looks cheap for a car that is so expensive. 2. American companies don't know how to make luxury cars well. Range Rover 1. Everyone has one 2. I heard that you have to take it to the mechanic a lot. To me the Escalade and Rover are the same, but I would give the edge to the Range Rover. I use my mercedes as a daily driver. The reason I would go for the Mercedes is because of the brand. I know that I am getting a top quality car. Plus mercedes scream wealth and luxury.
The average value now is $46k - 51K. The new one when it first came out was like what, $100k? So after a lease is over, you can get it for half price. LOL!
That's basically what happens with most cars that are not in the "supercar" category. And that devaluation works in the favor of those who don't want to overspend on a vehicle that will immediately lose 10% of it's value once you drive it off the car lot. I love my GLS550. It's incredibly powerful, luxurious, and looks like a million dollars.
wow your german is fantastic...i am from Wiesbaden in the Rhein/Main Area...i know in a previous video you mentioned you used to work for Mercedes...how good is your german today?cool video,i love your channel...
i am from saudi. these big suvs you mentioned with the lexus lx are common here. cus of we usually have big families. even thou some small families owns a bigger car than they need. they have the" bigger is better" thing they go to purchase an suv. usually the comfort and tech fulled with car is the second point. so they go for the low price expedition and then Yukon and landcruiser cross the way to lexus escallde and gl.
People buy these kind of cars because they WANT it (and can afford it), not because they need it. It's hard to justify a car like this from a practical perspective - like "what will you do with it". But rather because some people just want the most expensive, the largest, and the fastest SUV on earth that has extravagance writing all over it. It's a lifestyle piece rather than an utilitarian object.
Bond Movies have all went downhill since Roger Moore. Best bond movies since then imo were License To Kill and Skyfall. I have just bought a GLS 350 D for long distance cruising, largely with my MTB in the back. I plan to have a smaller engined car aswell though
I'm coming back to this video since i'm searching for a large 3 row SUV. GLS is near the top of my list and i'm looking at picking up a used one. I'm really not interested in any GMC product so that removes Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade. I really like the Q7 but might be a tad too small for my needs. I really like the VW Atlas for it's interior size but the actual interior quality is very subpar. Right now I'm thinking of a minor used GLS or new Lincoln Aviator (which is a tad bit smaller). I have 2 kids and with them a ton of gear that i need to pack. I hate that i have to play tetris in my current vehicle.
I love my GLS550. It's incredibly powerful, luxurious, and looks like a million dollars. It's big..but not too big and it handles almost as well as the S Class sedan. Hard to tell it's an SUV when driving it. And it has the best safety features of any luxury SUV on the planet. You can't go wrong with it..but make sure you get an extended warranty with it. CarMax offers the best selection an extended warranties when it comes to this model.
I own a 2015 gl550 and I have 3 kids so when the family wants to go somewhere its a great hauler. Also I love to drive the twin turbo V8 fast i have chipped it to about 505 hp and it beats most cars on the road today..
In response to MotomanTV's question about what ppl who own large lux SUV's do with them: I sit in my unmatched luxurious interior while my 510 hp Range Rover Supercharged propels me from 0 to 60 mph in sub-6 seconds---in an almost 6,000 pound machine. And I use it in the NY winter snow to haul kids, cargo etc. with it. Try that with your Lotus.
+MotoManTV why don't you do one long review including everything. I been following the show for a very long time and this is the only bad aspect of the show
+ibidibi100 Very simple: Viewer retention - meaning how many people watch all the way through, which affects the algorithm that drives overall views - is higher when an episode focuses on one car.
+MotoManTV I live in Saudi Arabia. Here the roads are okay but there are places the finishing is not all that good. Sewage manhole covers, big bumps that have no sign to warn you and road construction that never seem to end just to mention a few. Now in accidents that are very common here a SUV is better but doesn't mean you are safe. Then there is the shoving and pushing in roundabouts that have no light where it is everybody for himself. There am a KING. I guess a big GMC Yukon is intimidating to anyone driving a saloon. Overall after you get used to an SUV a Camry or a Mercedes seems to small and to low. I love to look down on people as I cruise past in great exhaust thunder.
+ibidibi100 Realistically, there is nothing to talk about actually.. Mercedes and BMW's are having the same interior in all the cars mostly.. But i do agree with you. I prefer a bit more Interior talk as well than what he is doing..
In response to why people by them - It's all for status. It doesn't matter if you're in the vehicle by yourself most of the time. It is about where you are in life. This is the reason why you buy these things. No one really needs a Range Rover, Escalade, QX80 or in this case GLS when a 7 seater van with awd can do the job or better. Everyone has their own reasons why they buy it whether it is for comfortable, luxury or just the sake of commanding the road. But usually the main reason is that they buy it because they can whether leased/financed or paid in cash. As to what they use it for? Commute to work, grocery getting, ski slopes/golf course on the weekend and driving kids to soccer practice.
I plan in buying a GLS (or a GL) because I like space and comfort. There are other Vehicles that can provide those things, but I like Mercedes Benz. Favorite Bond Movie... Quantum of Solace. No special reason.
I love my GLS550. It's incredibly powerful, luxurious, and looks like a million dollars. And it has the best safety features of any luxury SUV on the planet. You have excellent taste my friend!
Sorry but too little focus on the feel of the car, pulling power was covered but since it is a S how does it stack up to rest of the S models and how is the money comparison??? - Just to mention a few of many areas that could have been covered about the car - Instead we got a movie review in between. Best part was properly around the 9 gear box but still very long to tell that story. Footage was okay but I miss a few clearly framed scenes where the car just passes into the landscape. Weirdly enough not being a MB van and neither a big fan of big SUV´s I actually do not dislike the look of this car.
The idea is that this type of cars is good in snow you don't meet to shovel out Plus let's say I'm going from Montreal to Toronto it's better to take such a car than a flight
this would be an alternative to driving a pick-up truck while living in the Gulf-coast. presence, an anti-bully.. a deterrent towards ignorance. Safety indeed.
We have a '10 Gl450 at home, with 4 kids, a busy schedule with school, club football and overall speeding to practices, tutoring and work, the car has a heavy load to deal with. Weekends see road trip duty going to games 2 hours away, Tack that on with winter trips to the ski resorts, laden with cargo boxes and ski racks + summer road trip duty with luggage for 6; the car gets used to its max. When the ford expedition we used to have just didn't match the comfort, the cabin quality, styling or the power that this car offered; the l450 rivals none. This car has a very strong following of owners, who love that car for what it can do, and that it can get you there in comfort cruising at 90mph+ ; albeit sticker shock in the service lane can be a bit annoying.
+Vincent Eijbergen albeit the bit about Spectre was entertaining, it got old quickly. I came to the video to see the car, and did not really see much of any of the new features...interior or capability of the car. Was really interested to know whether drive select is just what he showed, or the knob near the armrest...
Why not point the camera forward so we can see where you drive and the instruments at the same time. Between the front seats, or something... Its not that you look ugly, but its really not that interesting to look at you. Sorry!
+MotoManTV you have no right to drive that fancy and awesome SUV ... GLS 550 ... maybe there are collectors or maybe someone wants to buy that car because she or he LOVES it! (period)
Also I wouldn't own one, but they are the only cars in the burbs where I live, and are mostly for status. They don't really care about the capability, just the brand, and honestly peer pressure. If you role up to a business meeting in a Honda Pilot, or accord, or worse yet a civic hatch, you can kiss your career goodbye
Yea, we don't get that white stuff here either!I need a TwinTurbo V8 in my life... Regardless of the rugrats, dogs & other stuff . . . ;)I read somewhere that the '50' was a result of times when they were honest & those numbers meant a damm during the 5.5L days almost a decade ago & they refused to change it because people might think it's a "Status Downgrade"I'm kinda disappointed in the GLS even though I knew it would turn out exactly like this ... I guess I was hoping for Dr Zee to prove me wrong. One Doesn't Simply Call a GL a glS without an S interior!what would I do with it? Nothing in particular, but I love the roomnees, ground clearance of them & their ability to drive through anything... Be it potholes, rain, sand or white stuffI'll be honest with you, growing up I hated SUVs & I hated them even more when my father traded his S-Class (W140) for a Mitsubishi Pajaro ... But once I got to drive a proper one (Ford explorer) I saw Jesus lol.My choice will be the Escalade (can't wait for NYIAS to see the V!!!!) ________crap ... I totally forgot about Spectre! Got distracted by midterms, traveling & renewing my ID back home & forgot about Spectre ... A movie I was looking forward to all year . . . :(as for my favorite Bond, its hard to pick just one ... Especially with the great one! However I can tell you that the Dalton bond was my least favorite.as always, excellent work M!
+IceDree Seeing a lot of comments about the interior on this . . . and I have to say I agree with most people on this . . . this truck should be a couple of steps above in the interior department if it is finally going to wear the 'S' badge. Something tells me this will change when we see the full redesign . . .
i would buy this over any range rover/land rover, we can't deny the comfort, luxury, off road ability and class land rover gives but i trust mercedes engines more than the land rovers. and i am from UK. they will hate me for this comment but i am just giving my own HONEST OPiNION. =)
I'm from Iraq and I have only tow boys I use it for go to work and shopping It's so important to me to have a full size SUV because we use it in the city but the must important is we go for another city for holidays and weekends so I can say it's every day driving car
Wow. Just...wow. This particular life-long Bond fan has some serious trust issues with anyone who craps on Skyfall, and lauds SPECTRE as it's superior. Don't even get me started on your view of Dame Judith Dench's "M". Good car reviews Motoman...but leave the film reviews to those who actually appreciate good films, and know what they are talking about, please.

Skyfall was bad? i didn't know
+Curly4Superman It's not bad. He's one of few who don't like Skyfall. Most consider it a Bond high point, certainly Craig's best.
Curly4Superman Skyfall wasn't your typical Bond film but it was one of the best in my opinion.
Where does he get all of those MotoMan license plates from?
The GLS is the new naming for the GL right?
How would this compare to a Durango srt8 ?
Thank you for getting into the transmition !
From Russia with love is the best bond movie of all time. The gadgets are sensible and not far-fetched.
I agree. Daniel Craig as Bond is sophisticated and kicks ass. Smart and smooth. Connery is the original. The look of the first movies in the early 60's is captivating.
Oooh & by the way, I love the Orange ambient lighting
I'm not complaining (that much!), but since the price of a MB -AMG GLE 63 S 4Matic Coupé would set me back with approx. 345.684,73 USD (They don't even show the price for the Mercedes Benz GLS at all!!) here in Denmark, and that is without any extras, it won't probably be possible for me in the near future to purchase one of these fine automobiles!
Instead I can enjoy MotoMans episodes and appreciate, that it's not all tire smoke and drifting! I appreciate the attention to details and the humor!
Thank You, MotoMan! :-)
2:09 "numbers and twerk?" LOL
Lol
Excellent and funny review. I applaud you for wearing sneakers in the snow.
+achuck4321 Thanks!
What kind of tyres were used on this vehicle during your review
Me my family drive a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. There are 6 of us, it seats 7. The middle row is captain seats. We live in Hawai'i & the Aspen is full time 4WD, but we don't ever go off road, it has 5.7 Liter Hemi, but we don't tow, but what it does do is it keeps up spaced out in a vehicle because we are all a little taller & bigger & SUVS have always been something I feel more safe to be in, especially in wet conditions. I can't speak for a lot of people, but I think SUVS are popular because it goes back to that saying, "better to have it & not need it, than to need it than not have it."
good choice of shoes!
Enjoyed this reviewers personality! One of my new favorites!
Interesting, I own this car from the review now. It still has the markings of being a press vehicle with this license plate.
Brother... you need to show us interior more. Forget about Bond. Who ever owns this kind of car and (at the same time) is not a slave of that vehicle - ROCKS wherever he/she goes. Kids, wife, girls, dogs... you name it! :-)
Mersedes Gls500 yoxsa Lexus Lx570 hansi Model yaxsidir
i want to know dissel car are good like gl 350 mercedes 2012 i need help i want know before i buy it
I am thinking about purchasing this car for family vehicle. Third row seat and the massive space attracted me. Still considering in btw Range Rover and this one. I was told this will be introduced to the market in March, if I preorder, when do you think I will receive this?
the brake rotors are cross drilled so you can take this suv to the "ring".
Plot twist: you take it to the 'ring tow the whole 'ring, not to haul ass around it
+listentocKy0893 to* tow
+listentocKy0893 I like it!!!!
great review👍👍
My wife has new escalade and she love it, I have a 2015 gl63 amg. There is nothing I can say bad about it. Perfect suv for anything or almost anything. 16000 miles and never been on a dealer yet. My son had a Range Rover supercharched. For the last year we were 4 times at the dealer with different problems. Sold it at 32000 miles. Never again .
you got the wrong bond movie its Spectre not Skyfall . My favorite bond movie Goldfinger with his 1930 Phantom now that's classic!!!
i have the strong feeling that if you buy this or the GLE your getting cheated for your money. Considering the new GLC and S-class is a propper new Mercedes with an amazing interior. These are just sorta facelifts. And I feel the mix of old and new interior is very miss matched.
Agreed.
+philip s (Dishano) I also agree with you, couldn't said it better myself.
+philip s (Dishano) What if someone needs something for their dogs?
+philip s (Dishano)
The GLS is mercedes second best off road vehicle behind the G class. It is a genuine off roader like a Land Rover Discovery.
It is a genuine off road class vehicle and luxury at the same time and it is unfair to compare it to a S class.
+philip s (Dishano) I completely agree. I cannot buy a new GLE or GLS until they have an interior that matches or exceeds the new E class.
2017?
Hey MotoMan, So we have a 2014 GL350, thats the diesel. We have 3 kids and a dog. We like the diesel for the better MPGs. We also use it to tow 2 ATVs. We live in NJ and also got it for the 4Matic system because of the winters. All around its just a better put together and thought out car than say the x5 or Q7, and way better than anything GM is putting out. The germans know what they're doing!
Currently own a 2010 Tahoe, looking for an upgrade and really interested in this vehicle.
2 kids and dog
Towing trailers
They are creating new related ranks: A - GLA or CLA; C - GLC; E - GLE; S - GLS
Motomantv is the best
Nice Review, good job guys!!!
I prefer the G class as you can tell checking my channel, but this new "face lift" looks good.
I would buy this car because of the engine. How many SUVs you have with a V8 ?
i have a mercedes class c63 amg but it's not the sames options
Jesus you guys have the best jobs, like at the beginning of the vid, that line of MBs on that snowy mountain. Jesus I'm jealous
I live in miami fl, I have no kids and I drive an ml350. The SUV of choice here in south beach would be a toss up between range rover and the escalade. My reason for sticking with mercedes:
Escalade
1. Looks cheap for a car that is so expensive.
2. American companies don't know how to make luxury cars well.
Range Rover
1. Everyone has one
Family and go anywhere abilities. Comfort and tech.
Those are proper snow shoes you got there ... :D
love your show! but now....MORE BMW 😁 please😉 and for The time periode maybe some hybrids. .
wow your german is fantastic...i am from Wiesbaden in the Rhein/Main Area...i know in a previous video you mentioned you used to work for Mercedes...how good is your german today?cool video,i love your channel...
Ich pflegte, für BMW als Teil eines Universitätspraktikums zu arbeiten. Heute ist mein Deutsch schön, aber nicht perfekt.
i am from saudi. these big suvs you mentioned with the lexus lx are common here.
cus of we usually have big families. even thou some small families owns a bigger car than they need.
they have the" bigger is better" thing they go to purchase an suv. usually the comfort and tech fulled with car is the second point. so they go for the low price expedition and then Yukon and landcruiser cross the way to lexus escallde and gl.
really 2017 wow
Oh thanks for the spoiler. ;p
I didn't eat my broccoli yet! OH and a VIEW TO KILL FTW ;p
Because Moore IS Bond, best one, tho
Nice german Suburban!
live in south Africa. dad owns a gl500. gti performance go anywhere 7 seat limo. best description
Lol Skyfall was the best for me :D
Excellent and funny review
+Jessie Singh Chipped an SUV . . . RESPECT!
+MotoManTV thank you
In response to MotomanTV's question about what ppl who own large lux SUV's do with them: I sit in my unmatched luxurious interior while my 510 hp Range Rover Supercharged propels me from 0 to 60 mph in sub-6 seconds---in an almost 6,000 pound machine. And I use it in the NY winter snow to haul kids, cargo etc. with it. Try that with your Lotus.
no comment on the interior at all what sort of a review is this
+ibidibi100 We discuss the interior in the upcoming GLS 350 d episode . . .
Ridiculous attire for that climate, Mr Motorman ;)
Looks like you had the whole event to yourself there.
Skyfall was great! Spectre was so-so.
I would buy it for the design and confort
من اجمل الموديلات الجديده
for comfort and confidence to go anywhere and everywhere in luxury
I plan in buying a GLS (or a GL) because I like space and comfort. There are other Vehicles that can provide those things, but I like Mercedes Benz.
Favorite Bond Movie... Quantum of Solace. No special reason.
I love my GLS550. It's incredibly powerful, luxurious, and looks like a million dollars. And it has the best safety features of any luxury SUV on the planet. You have excellent taste my friend!
@@Nightbird. Thank you!! You have good taste as well!! 👊😂
@@kenbina Thank you and blessings to you always my brother!!! 👊😉
@@Nightbird. 🙏🙏🙏
This is the S-Class of SUVS. Nothing else needs to be said.
The idea is that this type of cars is good in snow you don't meet to shovel out
Plus let's say I'm going from Montreal to Toronto it's better to take such a car than a flight
believe it or not, the 4x4 or SUV superstar goes for the Japanese made LEXUS LX570
Enough said !!!!
i want buy this car. strong
I love mine. I hope you get one soon my brother!
this would be an alternative to driving a pick-up truck while living in the Gulf-coast.
presence, an anti-bully.. a deterrent towards ignorance.
Safety indeed.
He already said its made from the s class in the beginning
I drive big SUVs because I'm 6'3 and I golf I'm sure you can figure it out
Rich soccer parents, i was addicted to the 007 video games i.e. Golden eye for Nintendo 64
Casino Royale. Because it was the game changing 007 movie.
Unreal Engine for me)
Best or nothing is the only reason
spectre is fantastic...
This Mercedes is Beautiful in every way but a nicely equipped one still goes for 80k plus and that's the GLS450. I just can't justify that.
Santa Maria Madre de Dios!!!
Range Rover has extremely high maintenance costs although
I'm from Iraq and I have only tow boys
I use it for go to work and shopping
It's so important to me to have a full size SUV because we use it in the city but the must important is we go for another city for holidays and weekends
so I can say it's every day driving car
daniel craig should drive merc gls in his fifth bond movie
Wieso sprichst du so gut deutsch? :D
Why you're able to talk German so well? :D
er hat mal bei Mercedes in DE gearbeitet
+Patrick Poehlmann achsooo
Wow.
+TheSirUno Agreed.
