I love that the face sculpts are more defined than the previous doll line with the huge heads. The head to body ratio is also much better than the last line. The clothes leave much to be desired. I've been cutting back on dolls so I'll most likely wait until these go on sale. By the way, Great Review.

Edit: Ugh I hate that Mattel isn't willing to invest in better quality fabrics. Kind of makes reconsider just buying these girls when they go on sale. But thank y'all for the review.😉

Once you include taxes, the conversion to AUD is roughly $50 so honestly they’re a pretty set price world wide atm.
I feel so bad extremely selectively bred dogs 😅 they weren't meant to live like that (I'd love a Weiner dog or French bulldog, but they have so many health problems). Kinda makes me think of "All Tomorrows" by C.M. Coseman the way humans have selectively bred animals. No judgement! Just something I struggle with myself.
On another note, thanks for sharing these dolls! I particularly love red 🥰

happy for you guys, australia seems to be getting served lately ❤ i love the descendants movies, been a fan since day 1
a little context for you guys, in this movie, which wasn't released yet, none of the 4 main characters from the previous 3 movies will return, which were:
mal, evie, carlos and jay; children of maleficent, evil queen, cruella de vil and jafar respectively.
in this new movie we have new characters that are children of other fairytale characters.
after the queen of hearts from wonderland attacked and tried to take over the kingdom of auradom, they travel to the past in a try to understand why she became evil, which she didnt seem to be before.
that's why they meet the younger version of some of the characters. and uma, which was a supporting characters in movies 2 and 3, is now the new principal of auradom's school.

Sorry pure Chihuahua owner here. My first Chi, Sarah, that I lost in 2017, she was 4 months from being 18 years old, snored louder than that. I used to joke that I traded in my ex husband, got a Chihuahua, and my ulcers went away.
Sarah turned out to be my first Service dog when she detected a heart attack in 2005. After that we trained her to detect heat atacks, seizures, strokes, & high & low blood glucose. Sarah said hen trained Sophia, who is now 16 and retired. She's the dog in my profile picture. And my newest SD is Skylah, who is my first long hair Chihuahua, a Sable Brindle Spotted on White, who will be 3 in December. As my newest Chi SD she's already saved my life at least 3 times since I've had her..

I thought the dolls were so cute I had to learn about the Descendants. These new ones are for a movie coming to disney+. I watched the Descendants 3 and it's pretty cute actually.

They’re $24.99 in the US. And apparently from what I currently know, they’re not going to be available in stores. Currently, they’re only available online. $24.99 given the Saran hair, articulation and separation fashion pieces, that’s pretty much the norm now. Also, Mattel has to pay Disney licensing fees. I think they’re a huge improvement over what Hasbro produced….but I will say, the fashions were a great quality from Hasbro, until the 3rd movie. Hair quality was always awful for them unfortunately.
Yeah at that price they are much more worth it in our opinion! Hopefully other department stores in AUS get them a bit cheaper 🖤

They are beautiful but I think they would have been more iconic if Red had black hair with red highlights and Chloe had blonde hair with blue highlights and that as the saga progressed they would get more color

@DrippedInPlastic I have most the g3 ones now so definitely will be getting the fearbook. I just got the 4 skulltimate ballerinas and Wednesday and mortica. I have hissfits on pre order. Yeah I'm going all out with monster high now that rainbow high is kinda meh now. I mean i have all of them up till the slime ones. I think i have more monster high still like im pushing maybe 500 plus dolls...😬I loved kmarts wish we had them here still. I mean target and wallymart are ok but idk kmarts used to be it. I rated them in the same order! I would love to get Red at the $25 US price and maybe Bridget on sale.
Mattel definitely used their budget on the amazing face molds and Saran hair and NOT on the clothes. The fashion packs they put out have that paper thin ribbon fabric as well. Very unsatisfactory. But for a beautiful face mold and hair like these, I can re-dress them in some thing else, like ILY outfits
I wanted Cinderella, but I'm now worried about being disappointed by the quality of her clothing for the price point. I love Brandy as Cinderella, and I like that the doll decidedly looks like she's in her forties, but isn't a caricature of a woman of that age.

Disney descendants came out in 2015 and the original dolls were based on the animated versions of the characters not the actors from the movies which are cute in their own way, Mattel would have had the rights to the dolls years ago if they hadn't pulled out ever after high it's a huge dramatic story , Hasbro has been the only manufacturer of the dolls until now, I hated Hasbro and never purchased them until now I'm excited to see what Mattel can do with this franchise since it is a sore spot in their relationship with Disney so for it to come full circle like this is interesting, the price point is a sore spot with Mattel already but I will buy these when I see them in the US

I thing some of the budget actually went to the Disney license. Though I do think that they should have done better with the fabric choice if they were going to just print on the details.

Hopefully she’ll come back in stock soon 🥹🫶🏽. $55 is a lot of money 😞. In the U.S, they’re $25 each (the core dolls), Cinderella is $30, & The Queen of Hearts is $35.

I think they didn’t put a comma and just said “Daughter of Queen of Hearts” because Queen of hearts is THE Red Queen. She is just also Queen of Hearts, but that isn’t her actual title. It’s also a reference to the cards the way you say it is Queen of Hearts, ace of spades, King of Diamonds, etc. there is no “The” because it isn’t her real title. 😂 now if they said “Daughter of The Red Queen” then yea that would be better.
In the original Alice books, the Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen are two different characters from two different worlds. Later media that adapts the stories often conflates them.
