You should know that they originally planned to make the traidional fairy tale movie with Elsa as the Villain. Bue because Let it Go was so good they decided to change the whole story to accomodate her. That´s the reasoning behind the plot holes that many people didn´t care to see.

While of course Elsa’s deep rooted fears stem from the mistakes of her parents, whose own fears hindered her chance to properly grow up to accept herself, the only real active role she plays in her story is running away from her problems. Yeah people celebrated her because she didn’t have a love interest but the film still had a lot of romantic scenes. Also we don’t know for certain that any of the Disney princess married someone they just met.. it’s never made clear when they got married. 😫 it just frustrates me how needlessly critical people are of the Disney princesses. He tries to save her later on by launching a harpoon at Ursula and then Ariel makes Ursula misfire the trident saving Eric again and he returns the favour by taking the helm of a ship and ramming the bow sprint into Ursula. Elsa pails in comparison to other Disney girls. Jane Porter went from a London girl to jungle girl. What about Kida saving an entire civilisation and city.
Belle also selflessly risked her life to save her Father, remember she took his place as Prisoner:) Anyways, agreed when I finally got around to seeing Frozen, I didn't get the hype. Some of the Dolls are stunning though. Also tbf every Disney sequel is a Mess;p hehe xo
i'm not a big frozen fan either but back in the late summer of 2013 when the frozen merch started going out into the disney store, i bought the singing elsa doll as a christmas present for my sister, who is a massive idina menzel fan. and omg trying to keep that doll a secret for all those months was so difficult. it's motion sensor activated and she would just go off randomly even though she was kept in a dark cupboard. you would just sometimes faintly hear let it go when you walked around our house. i do not know how my sister didn't hear it at all and we managed to keep it secret. so funny looking back now

Yep, she was supposed to be the villain. They changed their minds part way through production and that's why there are no subtle hints to the audience that Hans is the villain; they dumped it on him last minute.

Bad news! Disney planned to do a Frozen 3 and 4. Except bringing Hans back, what could happen? Anna is queen, Elsa is happy in the forest, Arendelle has no enemies. If Anna suddenly could use magic, that won't make sense! It will also make her less special. She was unique because the girl can handle differents situations WITHOUT magic. I really hope this character won't have powers in the next movie 😟
If there were any good writers left I would wish for a redemption arc for hans and Elsa and Anna finding out that the Trolls f*cked with his mind because his role doesn't makes sense at all.

i was 14 when frozen came out and was just as obsessed with it and elsa as the actual children were, lol. i still love her to this day and it’s one of my favorite films despite its flaws. i do wish they had gotten to play with elsa being in a more villainous role and some of her early designs are stunning, but i love her as she is too- i honestly think her being so imperfect is what makes her interesting. however i also agree that all the stuff about frozen being the first feminist disney whatever is ridiculous. the princesses have always been varied and interesting characters, and trying to force them to fit into a role model box only makes them seem more flat and uniform. i kind of feel the way you do about frozen with encanto though. i just did not get the hype when that one came out and luisa’s song is my least favorite in all of disney’s history… but i guess everyone else loves it? i feel like there’s always at least one big disney movie that you just don’t vibe with haha

There are those LE dolls designed by Brittney Lee which have a more cartoonish faces that are still available in Disney Store. They're really cute and curious, but somehow, being so different doesn't seem to succeed. I really love Frozen Hasbro dolls when they used the smaller headmold, specially Anna's. Finally! One of the few people in the world that gets that FROZEN wasn´t it! Of all the plot holes and issues with the movie the MAIN one is that the "sisterhood" ISN´T THERE. They were apart FOR YEARS! That´s what truly bothers me about it...well, that and Hans "as a villain". The movie is fun. I won´t deny it. But one thing is that and another to overlook everything else.
Me too. But as far as I heard in videos about the movie Wish is that the writer just can't write villians at all. Rapunzels step mum is a villian and had a happy song. They easily could have done that with Elsa, too.

Personally while I don't hate Elsa as much as some seem to do and I do get what the writers were trying to do with her character, I was always confused when people called her a feminist icon when characters such as Belle, Mulan and even Merida had much larger roles compared to her. My best guess was it was the symptom of when the Disney princess were facing a lot of criticism thanks to Buzzfeed's articles on them (good riddance) but I think it's really weird that Elsa was seen as a feminist icon conpare to the others (including Anna)
The very first Frozen dolls from the Disney Store were some of the best. The attention to detail was great. I remember the gloves on the Anna doll would stain her hands. I also vividly remember the Frozen doll shortage 10 years ago. Disney Store would restock and they'd be sold out again instantly. Oh, and Joey's grand entrance dressed as Elsa. SLAY!!!
As someone with a 5-year-old niece, I can confirm kids still froth at the mouth for Frozen. They really nailed it with that movie (at least for young children) and haven't reached that level of hype since. Encanto got close but I think it was the teen-adult market that enjoyed it.

I mean, it's not that I didn't like it, it was just "just okay" for me and I could never understand the huge hype and still I am unable to :') BUT! I remember when my parents and I went to see Coco back in January 2018, we were already aware of the 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' controversy by that time, but we weren't sure if the cinema was going to have the short intact. Unfortunately, it was, and I say unfortunately, because a fair chunk of the audience complained thinking the wrong movie was playing. It didn't help that the trailers that played before the main movie were constantly buffering like they were on bad Wi-Fi, so needless to say, we were a little irritated by the constant disruptions. At least, when we finally got to the movie we paid for, it was smooth sailing from there, and me and my mum were still crying from that beautiful ending as we got back to the car.
i have no opinion on the movies, but DEAR LORD how horrendous those first mattel dolls were!!!😱 as a doll customizer i even tried to make something of an Anna doll but it's a lost cause. i tried with a Hasbro Elsa and managed to make a nice figurine out of her, chopping and repositioning her limbs. i also bought a second hand Disney Kristoff doll and put his head on an MTM Ken because the original body was tragic.

I like the themes in Frozen (especially the true love doesn't have to be between a prince and a princess thing) but I've always thought the execution was mid at best. Though saying so back then made you a "hater" because merely disliking something gets you the "You're just trying to be edgy and hating on something because it's popular" as if people can't fathom the idea that you might just dislike something. Also...Hans was a low tier villain.
I loveeeee the first frozen dolls by Mattel. The first Anna and Elsa dolls released by Disney Store were the best looking in my opinion. The Hasbro play line ones are awful : Elsa’s mouth looks like the Joker’s and her dress looks really bad, with no glitter and all details printed on the fabric. The newer Mattel version at least doesn’t have the creepy Joker smile but while Anna’s outfit is nice, Elsa’s doesn’t look very pretty without glitter and details.
As an used to be frozen obsessed kid I used to have the singing Elsa doll. I pressed the button so many times it went from singing let it go to only saying “le”
I think the reason why the fame of Frozen is starting to fade is because kids who loved Frozen are all teenagers or young adults now and moved on from Disney and most kids nowadays does not know Frozen. I'm turning 18 this year and I used to really love Frozen and I became Elsa on my 8th Birthday. It was so memorable to me and I remember back then, I would always sing "Let It Go". I can't believe now that Frozen is celebrating 10th year anniversary like where did the time go? Time flew by so quickly

I understand what you are saying about Frozen, but I honestly think people/you are seeing it wrong. The story is about fear. Being raised with fear nearly your whole. Hide what you are. Elsa almost killed her sister, with magic. Add in her parents (though kind hearted) telling her to keep it locked inside. When she is discovered, she panics and runs away. FInally, Elsa over comes that fear to save her sister's life, and protect her kingdom from the usurper, Hans. That is why I love, Frozen.
I feel like Disney rushed the doll companies to release these dolls after the films success. Like I wasn't expecting that. even with the Disney limited edition dolls for Frozen were popular, like the set from last year sold out in 30 seconds, but I skipped passed it, I didn't need another Elsa in my collection. Frozen 2 Snow Queen Elsa is all I need, no more, no less.

I have one Elsa and one Anna I think both were early Lee releases but the ones with no capes . My dad sells tractors and we went to a meeting in Texas and I saw Anna and begged for her. He didn’t see the hype but he bought her. Later that year my grandpa bought me a blow mold fashion doll clone of Elsa but with a different face. She came from the store roses for 2$ I turned her into a farmer she’s beautiful and one of my favorites.
IIRC a major contributor to Mattel losing the Disney license was a Disney high-up went to the toy store to buy a Frozen doll for a child in his family . . . only to find the shelves bare of Frozen dolls but fully stocked with Ever After High dolls. You know . . . Ever After High . . . the Mattel brand about public domain fairy tale dolls which was in DIRECT COMPETITION with Disney's Descendants doll line. Unamused, Disney took the license away from Mattel and gave it to Hasbro. This took a big chunk out of Mattel's budget which led them to lowering the quality and reworking Monster High to try to fill the "younger kid" doll gap that Disney had left (creating G2 Monster High), which subsequently led to MH also failing.

My parents got my sister and me Anna and Elsa dolls for Christmas after the movie came out (when we were like 20 and 17 lol) and I got a Kristoff doll too and my biggest complaint is the sculpted on clothes. At least you can find outfits to put over the girls' plastic sleeves but Kristoff was literally just a huge lump of plastic with maybe a fabric vest?? So annoying. But I've since ended up with a second Anna doll bc I found her at a flea market in a cute vintage Barbie dress and just bought her for the dress.

Of all the plot holes and issues with the movie the MAIN one is that the "sisterhood" ISN´T THERE. They were apart FOR YEARS!
That´s what truly bothers me about it...well, that and Hans "as a villain".
The movie is fun. I won´t deny it. But one thing is that and another to overlook everything else.
Me too. But as far as I heard in videos about the movie Wish is that the writer just can't write villians at all. Rapunzels step mum is a villian and had a happy song. They easily could have done that with Elsa, too.

...and yes, all those surpise villains are AWFUL: Wreck it Ralph (in this case worked), Frozen, Big Hero 6...and the worst of them all from Zootopia.

As a huge Frozen fan I was always a bit upset that they got separated from the regular princess line because of how popular they were on their own 😔 Specially since Anna became my first favorite princess. Before that while I always loved Disney, I never had favorite one..
I wish I can one day afford one of the 1st Disney limited edition Anna doll. I currently have only the Anna version from the end of the 1st movie. I got it for myself as a birthday gift, I was able to find it at $250. Not too bad…
A couple of years ago I found the best/worst fake doll in the world: a mermaid Elsa. BTW, I'm from Argentina and the doll was of course made in China.
Personally while I don't hate Elsa as much as some seem to do and I do get what the writers were trying to do with her character, I was always confused when people called her a feminist icon when characters such as Belle, Mulan and even Merida had much larger roles compared to her. My best guess was it was the symptom of when the Disney princess were facing a lot of criticism thanks to Buzzfeed's articles on them (good riddance) but I think it's really weird that Elsa was seen as a feminist icon conpare to the others (including Anna)
The very first Frozen dolls from the Disney Store were some of the best. The attention to detail was great. I remember the gloves on the Anna doll would stain her hands. I also vividly remember the Frozen doll shortage 10 years ago. Disney Store would restock and they'd be sold out again instantly. Oh, and Joey's grand entrance dressed as Elsa. SLAY!!!
As someone with a 5-year-old niece, I can confirm kids still froth at the mouth for Frozen. They really nailed it with that movie (at least for young children) and haven't reached that level of hype since. Encanto got close but I think it was the teen-adult market that enjoyed it.

Omg! I am so glad I am not the only one who has never been a fan of frozen.. I mean, it's not that I didn't like it, it was just "just okay" for me and I could never understand the huge hype and still I am unable to :') BUT! I also have to add that Joey in Elsa dress and showing it of for us is such a slay, I live for 💅💙

I remember when my parents and I went to see Coco back in January 2018, we were already aware of the 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' controversy by that time, but we weren't sure if the cinema was going to have the short intact. Unfortunately, it was, and I say unfortunately, because a fair chunk of the audience complained thinking the wrong movie was playing. It didn't help that the trailers that played before the main movie were constantly buffering like they were on bad Wi-Fi, so needless to say, we were a little irritated by the constant disruptions. At least, when we finally got to the movie we paid for, it was smooth sailing from there, and me and my mum were still crying from that beautiful ending as we got back to the car.

as a doll customizer i even tried to make something of an Anna doll but it's a lost cause. i tried with a Hasbro Elsa and managed to make a nice figurine out of her, chopping and repositioning her limbs. i also bought a second hand Disney Kristoff doll and put his head on an MTM Ken because the original body was tragic.

I like the themes in Frozen (especially the true love doesn't have to be between a prince and a princess thing) but I've always thought the execution was mid at best. Though saying so back then made you a "hater" because merely disliking something gets you the "You're just trying to be edgy and hating on something because it's popular" as if people can't fathom the idea that you might just dislike something. Also...Hans was a low tier villain.

I loveeeee the first frozen dolls by Mattel. Firstly they are very nastolgic to me but they actually look like the characters and what I also really like is that Elsa looked sweet and not that evil sassy look she had at hasbros

The first Anna and Elsa dolls released by Disney Store were the best looking in my opinion. The Hasbro play line ones are awful : Elsa’s mouth looks like the Joker’s and her dress looks really bad, with no glitter and all details printed on the fabric. The newer Mattel version at least doesn’t have the creepy Joker smile but while Anna’s outfit is nice, Elsa’s doesn’t look very pretty without glitter and details.

I think the reason why the fame of Frozen is starting to fade is because kids who loved Frozen are all teenagers or young adults now and moved on from Disney and most kids nowadays does not know Frozen. I'm turning 18 this year and I used to really love Frozen and I became Elsa on my 8th Birthday. It was so memorable to me and I remember back then, I would always sing "Let It Go". I can't believe now that Frozen is celebrating 10th year anniversary like where did the time go? Time flew by so quickly

I understand what you are saying about Frozen, but I honestly think people/you are seeing it wrong. The story is about fear. Being raised with fear nearly your whole. Hide what you are. Elsa almost killed her sister, with magic. Add in her parents (though kind hearted) telling her to keep it locked inside. When she is discovered, she panics and runs away. FInally, Elsa over comes that fear to save her sister's life, and protect her kingdom from the usurper, Hans. That is why I love, Frozen.

I feel like Disney rushed the doll companies to release these dolls after the films success. Like I wasn't expecting that. even with the Disney limited edition dolls for Frozen were popular, like the set from last year sold out in 30 seconds, but I skipped passed it, I didn't need another Elsa in my collection. Frozen 2 Snow Queen Elsa is all I need, no more, no less.

I just bought the original 2013 Elsa doll off Ebay, as I think it’s perfect for what I need - a birthday Elsa doll cake for my soon to be 4yo daughter (also perfectly themed for a december bday party). It’s ridiculous that the current Elsa doll cannot move her arms sideways, only forward, making her look like a zombie 😡
I have one Elsa and one Anna I think both were early Lee releases but the ones with no capes . My dad sells tractors and we went to a meeting in Texas and I saw Anna and begged for her. He didn’t see the hype but he bought her. Later that year my grandpa bought me a blow mold fashion doll clone of Elsa but with a different face. She came from the store roses for 2$ I turned her into a farmer she’s beautiful and one of my favorites.

IIRC a major contributor to Mattel losing the Disney license was a Disney high-up went to the toy store to buy a Frozen doll for a child in his family . . . only to find the shelves bare of Frozen dolls but fully stocked with Ever After High dolls. You know . . . Ever After High . . . the Mattel brand about public domain fairy tale dolls which was in DIRECT COMPETITION with Disney's Descendants doll line. Unamused, Disney took the license away from Mattel and gave it to Hasbro.
This took a big chunk out of Mattel's budget which led them to lowering the quality and reworking Monster High to try to fill the "younger kid" doll gap that Disney had left (creating G2 Monster High), which subsequently led to MH also failing.

My parents got my sister and me Anna and Elsa dolls for Christmas after the movie came out (when we were like 20 and 17 lol) and I got a Kristoff doll too and my biggest complaint is the sculpted on clothes. At least you can find outfits to put over the girls' plastic sleeves but Kristoff was literally just a huge lump of plastic with maybe a fabric vest?? So annoying. But I've since ended up with a second Anna doll bc I found her at a flea market in a cute vintage Barbie dress and just bought her for the dress.
