When Distorted Joey Dragonface starts growling in latin, I lose my shit every time... This is by far the best metal song they have (pending the new album)...
Their virtual seventh member of the band, Jason Galea basically does all of their art, posters, album covers and most of their music videos. The robot Dragon and the marching lizards are a staple of his Nonagon Infinity-era psychedelic surreal visuals, definitely check out Robot Stop and Gamma knife if you haven't already.
I still have a hard time remembering that Jason Galea is the honorary 7th member and not the honorary 8th 😔

At 10:06 when the dragon starts stomping on the tanks to the beat of the song, then turns on its heels on the cymbal tap - tell me that didn't make you smile out loud. I am positive I've never seen a video that has made me as giddy as this one. Holy shit.
You need to check out infest the rats nest. My favourite track on it has to be perihelion.
Also, my favourite part of the music video has to be at 12:31 where stu hops off the bike looking badass and then proceeds to miss his jacket pocket. Funny shit.
I'm so damn excited for this album to drop. Gila Monster and Dragon are already two great heavy jams so I'm stoked to see what else they have in store for us.
Infest the Rats’ Nest is another metal album in case you were unaware.
These guys do basically every popular or semi-popular genre you can think of, excluding country, and do it well. This is the band that got me actually interested in metal, previously I never gave it a chance.
I have no idea how much of their catalog you've heard, but I'd suggest The River for a psychedelic jam, Catching Smoke for some psychedelic synth pop, Sense for a chill acoustic song, and Billabong Valley for something completely different. Glad you enjoyed!
if your looking for country they do have a spaghetti western album called eyes like the sky one of their dads narrates it

Joey did play a little Billy Strings during the recent acoustic night, though. So maybe not original Gizz country (yet) but they've definitely dabbled.

A song not in 4/4 isn't off time it's just a different time signature, and KGLW is renowned for their use of odd time signatures and polyrhythms, I've seen a couple of dudes on RUclips that have done pretty in depth videos on the topic specifically relating to KGLW, definitely worth doing a bit of a deep dive and learning more about it! It's super interesting, and makes their music that much more impressive when you really start analysing it! 👍🏻👍🏻
😂 I realize exactly why you say what you’re saying about 4/4 and it not being “off time”. I was wrapped up in awesome and just trying to convey that it isn’t conventional like a 4/4. The crazy time signature makes it feel like it’s off time every 7 and 8 and I didn’t necessarily convey that in the moment 😂
Believe you me, I’m jumping into the the deep end of the rabbit hole here. I’m hooked.

They have some metal sprinkled here and there throughout their discography. Check out Great Chain of Being from Gumboot Soup, which is not a metal album at all.
