Thanks padraig for this. Watched it on tv back in the day. Man Rory was on fire (what about that harp?!!!). Heard his nephew say that Rory changed the lyrics a bit (original a bit racy as were most of the old blues songs - the original is grand). Rory gave his heart and soul every show. We're lucky there's still all this wonderful footage to keep the flame alive. William Rory Gallagher, you're sorely missed. Thanks again for this 👍✌️
Had the pleasure of seeing The One and Had the great fortune of seeing the one and only Rory G in US 4 times 74-78, your correct, never be another like him! can only hope his memory and music live on (p.s. He was really liked in this area-mid Atlantic east coast US,).
Rory was, above everything else, an amazing songwriter, exploring the whole range of styles, from heavy rock to jazz, ragtime to folk to country, to the blues - both electric and acoustic. He could have had hit singles throughout , but he just didn't care. He wrote brilliant lyrics too. Awesome bloke, much missed.
Well I wouldn't use the word 'wasted' to describe watching this but yeah, i still remember first seeing this and staring in awe when he takes off the strat. It's an unbelievable performance. The sheer passion he injects into it is phenomenal. Thanks for commenting.
I found this from the train scene in the movie "The East" where the hobo girl is jamming on the banjo playing a version of this song. I didn't expect a baptism of Rory Gallagher fire. I have some catching up on a legend to do! Awesome live video. Ranks as legend stuff.
Here's some love to Lou Martin! I love Killing Floor, I'm this is my first time actually seeing Lou Martin in a video, I love how animated he was, reminds me of Larry Taylor jamming on the bass. haha but damn did Rory have some good harp skills, shit! Thanks for posting this it's fantastic! Cheers!
padraig314 just found this gem happy easter and thanks for the upload one of the best rory is on fire as always r,i,p,rory, lou ,rod, see you in heaven,Margo
This has been my favorite Rory performance since I First saw it on TV way back in the 70s.I remember Rory's Excellent Blues harp & Slide playing. Thanks for uploading this Gem !
The Keyboard player is Lou Martin, and yeah, he was one hell of a player, and just plain fun to watch. i refer to him as the Angus Young of the keyboard haha.
I saw your post and question as to what type of Mic Rory used with the Harmonica.... For the live work it was the old " Sure Green Bullet" and in the studio he used alot of differant types but the Sure 52 was a Favorite . I like the green bullet....and an accessorie called the Spit Box ...a cover that the Harp fit in with a Sure 51 mic......enjoy
Rory was a huge fan of JB Hutto who was know as the "Slidewinder" and he would have been proud to hear Rory ...no one for me comes close to Rory's talent ..people nearly always claim Clapton is the best blues guitarist this side of the pond ...bullshit ...Clapton wasn't fit ti tie Rory's shoe laces
He was so unique! There is no one that can play, sing or move like him, simple but perfect!
This performance has everything: blues, blues, and stunning original creativity.
All extremely talented
My favorite song with "messing with the kids" : two journeys in Rory stratospheric land

That sometimes happens alright but the video still works, usually if you refresh your browser or restart it will be fine
I mean could there be anything cooler than that? :D

Neil Young and Rory should have done a side line in checked shirts.
Well, they are fricking comfortable to wear
Que sonido de Excandalo
Are you sure it's still there? The only other one i found was in two parts so i thought i'd post it as one
Does anyone know what microphone he's using when he plays the harmonica? Or is it some kind of electric harmonica?
I sometimes feel Billy gibbons from zz Top may have been influenced by Rory
