Back in version 7-10, one had to place warp markers over every transient and slice to midi individually. Live 11 users don’t know the struggle!!
You are the man
Very cool! Thanks, Bubba! 👍
It seems to also factor in the transient's character, pitch, timbre, etc., in order determine what kind of percussion it is and map it accordingly.
It would be also cool if Ableton at some point adds an option to also automatically map those transient sections to the drum rack as well. That would be killer!
Regroover (and better, Regroover Pro) will separate each kind into a separate track that you could then either directly re-use, or convert to MIDI to sub in any percussion sound...
Love this tip!!!
nice tuto Thank you!
Hi, cool tricks but when i clic on the audio i do not have the converting in midi option, do you have any clue why ? Maybe an optional with my version ?
Yes, the live lite version does'nt come with this feature
ah man, thanks a lot!
Hey thanks for this. How do you convert to drums so that the sample sits in the right bpm? Every time I convert, the drums don't fit in a loop. Thanks
Is it possible to do this live
Thanks
Anytime (:
whats the program u pulling the drum break from? thank u
Splice
Why are some bars blue and others are "grey"
every midi note has a "velocity" associated with it. it's a value from 0 to 127 that represents how loud a note is played. in ableton you can edit the velocity for each note under the piano roll. the grey notes are the ones with low velocity
