Yo this video is a gem! I figured some of these tricks in the past but you take it to a whole other level, I'd have to update my drum rack soon. Thank you for posting 🙏
Thanks Will love this. I've always dragged my one shot drums straight onto the timeline and arranged there but I'm gonna have a play with the drum rack and midi. This has given me a project for the weekend.
Hooray! Yeah I tend to use one shots often but it’s always fun to mix up the workflow and experiment with different techniques! You always end up with different results!
@WillHatton I gave this a go and was pleased with the results. The Hollt maxforlive is a great purchase. I followed your video and my only problem is I have a crappy old laptop and the multiple LFOs just killed the session totally freezing Ableton. I had to reduce the number of hits so just 1 hat and 1 snare instead of 3 of each and that was fine. Next I want to try Hollt on some foley and percussive hits as I think it will give some interesting results and textures.
incredibly useful information. didn't know I needed this lesson! I use Get Good Drums (modern and massive) and i feel so silly writing drum parts. would love more drum content!
Great video so much useful info. Im stuck because my LFO is automating every track instead of just say the EQ on the left snare. Is there any simple fix to this? Thanks!
@@tacticalgrooveorbit2379 I use FL Studio and this can be done within the Sampler under the wrench icon. You need to right click the shift knob and bring up the LFO tool for the event editor.
This is so good, every composer should watch this damn
Thanks for the kind words, glad it’s helpful!
Always love learning how to make my MIDI more realistic!
Me toooo!!! Thanks bud

Such high praise, thank you!

@@WillHatton yep ive shifted to ableton from fl recently so thanks
Excelente video ❤, me hubiese gustado tener subtítulos en español para sacarle el mayor provecho hay cosas que no entendí 😢😢
I like to automate the decay of hi hats with a LFO. Same for swing.. Just slightly goes a long way..
Yes!!! Tiny little modulations. Great stuff
How do you map the lfo to the swing?
