    You guys truly entertain me. 😊 I was worried how that shower scene was going to go. You made me realize as you walked the coast that I really had not explored much in that area beyond the road passing through.

      Haha! We actually always have with us a small backpack to carry grocery items etc. It's actually one of the best things we purchased and brought... it was an impulse buy (oh let see if this small backpack that folds into a small pouch will be any good). It's the one thing we brought outside of electronics that gets daily use. Haha!! Thanks for watching !! :)

    Looks lovely and peaceful. Away from the craziness of Saranda. Loved the variety in that supermarket 😍
    Your accommodation seems very cheap wow 👌 Amazing price. I'm not sure about that uphill walk at the end though 😮 phew !!
    So funny Jays comnents walking back with the shopping. I was grinning from ear to ear. Brilliant real comedy 👏 👏
    Loving your videos, really good guys 👍

      It is very peaceful compared to Saranda. Totally different thing. We wish we were still in Saranda, minus all the tourism that flows in during peak. We do not want that.
      The apartment price is not bad for this particular area. It's far more than we paid in Saranda. Our view here is superior to Saranda, but we have more noise from the main road. It is fine at night, the traffic dies down and our bedroom is at the back of the unit, you can't hear anything.
      The hill.. yes, it's nearly done us in a few times with grocery loads. It's actually quite bad, there is no way someone with mobility problems could stay here, it would be impossible to make it up.

    Great Video. The start on the waterfront was great. No Dam tourists either..😂😂 My Kinda town Bijela. The whole Jigsaw episode was hilarious, Your dry humour is great. Im loving Eastern Europe. I hope to go at the back end, its way to hot for me in summer. Loved the supermarket, have a word with the Russian fella. Tell him you have an audience that requires the content. Im Manx btw. The sidecars are my favourite. 😀😀

    I think I was sweating in sympathy! Is it humid too? Great seeing the grocery stores, and we really like puzzles too. Sarah needs a Kindle! She could read all she wants with Kindle Unlimited. Just a thought.
    Thanks for another cool video showing us around! ❤

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  7 месяцев назад +1

      Very humid. Today was 32 degrees and 70% humidity. It was rough. Sarah really likes physical books to touch and flip pages... but I think she will have to transition. She is maybe caving in on that one. Glad you liked watching our videos of basic life in foreign countries!

    • @conniecrew2585
      @conniecrew2585 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@JayandSarah I don't do well with humidity, unfortunately. I get it, it was hard for me to let go of my physical books, but once I did I never looked back. 😊

    • @JayandSarah

      When we arrive in Saranda during March... we were freezing. Our apartment was so cold we had to use all the blankets from the closet to keep warm sitting on the couch. By the time we left, it was roasting. Now, it's roasting on a new level. I now take joy in jumping into a completely cold shower twice a day. Once before I go out, once as soon as I get home, that is how drenched you become. Yeah Sarah might have to give up the paper books as well. She is resisting, but at some point... you know. Here is a bigger issue because we have no friends so we have down time and she likes to read. You can't be out all the time doing stuff, it wears you out... and every time you are out, you are spending money in one way or another, so you need to have things to do at home ,just as you do at home before you left to do this lifestyle.

      You got it. Bay of Kotor, completely stunning scenery from our patio(s) and also from the main walking road which is about 5 minute walk from our door. Prices similar to Albania (rent a bit more), food options are actually superior in grocery stores. I still prefer Albania. It's rough around the edges.

    Good watch but it would be good to know how much a beer/wine costs in the local bars/restaurants

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  7 месяцев назад

      Wine you are looking at $3 EURO and up per glass for anything that is not the cheapest plonk. Beer the lowest general price at bars / restaurants is $1.80 EURO. If you are in a tourist area you can easily double those prices. Average price out for local beer is $2.50 EURO I would say.

    That's a beautiful area. Is Uber or public bus available for a ride home with a big load of groceries?

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes public bus, depending of course on how far your place is from a stop. We have a bus stop about 100 meters from our place. There is no Uber here, you can get a taxi quite easily. From the shops in town to just about anywhere would be like 2-4 euros max. The next little town has its own shops, not sure it has as many. It might cost 5 euro to go there.

    Jay and Sarah
    I started watching you when you were in Saranda Albania because that's where I want to end up living.. My name is Charles and I live in San Jose, California. You live somewhere in western Canada? Can you say what city you live in?
    I see sometimes in this video you are walking on the streets? Do they not have sidewalks everywhere? When you were buying food puzzles and all the other stuff was Sarah Paying by credit card? So there's not a big community of expats in this part of Montenegro?

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for following and watching! We were from the Vancouver area. The sidewalks here are kind of sporadic, but the street we are walking on in the beginning is the main little road by the water - it gets very little traffic. The main road higher up.. does not have very good sidewalks. This seems to be a common theme.
      Credit cards are widely accepted in Montenegro which has reduced our reliance on cash significantly since leaving Albania. This has been a significant advantage.
      There may be more expats in other cities, this small town we are in right now likely has few to none - in terms of native English speakers. I can't speak to the rest of the area.. it's more tourists than expats, but there is an Expat group for sure in Montenegro and it's probably mostly in Kotor, Tivat and Budva. Real estate prices here are higher than Albania, costs on other things are in fact similar. It certainly does not have the same expat situation that Saranda has... I think that is probably unique and something we won't likely come across again until maybe Chiang Mai, Thailand.

  • @BradThye

    Great video. Is physical cash widely used and accepted? Or are they primarily card-only now? Thank you

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  4 месяца назад +1

      Cash is still widely used and in many places the only thing accepted. It is a cash society in many ways. Will be a long, long time before cards are widely accepted. Lots of small cafe bars, restaurants... they run on cash.

    I started feeling really thirsty for you guys, doing all that walking with no water! By the way, do they sell coconut water? Much healthier and replenishes all the electrolytes than just plain water can't do. If no Coconut water then at least carry the hydration powder or tablet hydration to add to your water bottle,
    such as liquid IV or Nuun tablets. Seriously, do not get a heat stroke, it happens very quickly. Seen it first hand on a very young girl and it is scary if you don't recognize the signs and know what to do. There are backpack coolers to carry some of your cold food, like cheese and meat and carry some cold water bottles while shopping. We have one and will always have one. Might want to look into those. On much lighter note, toward the end I started thinking "Oh no, is this turning into an "Only Fans" channel?🤣😂

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah we are generally pretty cautious about heat stroke. We will normally have water bottles with us to have something on hand. A backpack cooler sounds nice but keep in mind, we have no space to acquire and transport anything... absolutely everything we have is minimized in size or weight for us to travel. We have no way to have another backpack. Thanks for watching and commenting, it means a lot to us! Only Fans? Hahaha! Yeah, that.... lol.
