      Yeah it is lovely for sure! It's been crazy thunderstorms here since midnight last night. The roads look like rivers at the moment!

    Will definitely visit Kotor when we go to Montenegro it looks so pretty. Will probably go early October less touristy and still great weather.
    That meal was very good value with all that meat too, very nice. Best meat place here in Saranda we find is Taverna Liberia going towards Kodrra, you may have been there. Goiod food, good prices, lovely family run.
    Congrats on your 1K !!
    Great video ❤

      Yes when you come to Montenegro you must go to Kotor. That sounds like e a great time to be here... there will be less tourist traffic but as you say, weather still should be good. They get quite significant rainfall in the winter months here we have heard.
      The meal was a great value, we are going to go back again... maybe order a la carte. We have not been to Taverna Liberia, but we will be back in Saranda probably later in 2025 so we will check it out.
      Thanks for the congrats! It has been a labor of love and hobby for us, so to see our little channel grow to a point where 90% of channels never get, is so amazing. We plan to keep on making content that is authentic about our lives and hopefully it continues to grow! I am sure it will. Thanks for watching as always!!!

      There is a big difference between someone showing up on a cruise ship for 6 hours, and someone spending 2 months in a country.

    We were in Kotor three weeks ago. Three cruise ships in port, windy, rainy, overcrowded...miserable. But the old city, mountains and the walled portion of the mountains/fortress are amazing. I said I'd like to return when no ships were there.

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  3 месяца назад

      Absolutely. We are here for a total of around 1.5 months so we had lots of time to wait and look at ship schedule before taking the bus over there for the day. It was the best choice. With many cruise ships, forget it. As you say overcrowded. The government is more interested in revenue than protecting the city from problems of over tourism. They need to reduce the number of ships. Speaking to locals they explain the cruise ships come in, most people walk around spend not very much or nothing at all... and then 7 hours later they leave. The port fees are good revenue perhaps but the consumption of cruise shippers is not very good... at least, this is what I am told.

    The Old Town had very narrow walkways and it's just one big slab of rock everywhere. It's probably really hot there too.
    Do you have an agenda for your stay in Montenegro that you could post?
    And finally you do a video every 3 days I guess?

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  3 месяца назад +1

      It is quite hot in the open squares but due to the nature of the narrow walkways there is often some shaded areas. There are a plethora of patios to sit with patio covers or umbrellas, and also most business with seating will have fans with misting setup to keep you cool.
      We are very laid back about our plans, we don't set much of an agenda.. we just decide due to our fancy what we would like to do or see. We are here just a little over 3 more weeks and we do have some things on our mind, including a possible trip to Serbia to meet a friend from home (Canada) who is going to see family there.
      As for videos, we don't have a set schedule for making content. We let the ideas come organically... but I do try to do a couple a week. For me this is a creative outlet and something I can always learn more about and challenge ourselves to come out with content people will hopefully enjoy to see.

    Hi. I got Adverts ! Well done on the 1K. Great Vid. Kotor is not for me, I do like Bijela though. 😁

      Yes we finally met the monetization requirements which is a big achievement. I've done my best to reduce the suggested ads to a reasonable amount. They would normally put them every 4 minutes, but that is not right to me. RUclips premium helps you get rid of that, this is what we have.
      Bijela is a great chill place to stay. Bus to Kotor or Herceg Novi, but live like locals and pay local prices.

    Where did the ferry take you to? I am assuming you are staying in Kotor also. Thanks.

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  3 месяца назад +1

      The ferry takes you from Baosici over to the other side of the Bay of Kotor at essentially the narrowest part. It allows vehicle traffic to avoid a lengthy drive around the entire bay of Kotor. It spits you out just a 10 minute drive maximum from Tivat. I would say almost all commercial traffic use this, and anyone commuting or trying to get somewhere other than Kotor or the small villages on that side.

    Based on your travels, where do you consider to be the best city to retire to?

    • @JayandSarah
      @JayandSarah  3 месяца назад +1

      There is a long way to go still. There are many things to consider, the 2 factors most important are cost of living and tax treaties.

    Interesting how you ignored the largest and most important building in the city, the Catholic cathedral. Otherwise, you entered the Orthodox church which is occupied by the Church of Serbia.By the way, there are two Orthodox churches in the old town. Both were Catholic and were given to the Orthodox by the decree of the occupying forces of Napoleon.

      We didn't ignore it on purpose, we must have missed it. We are not interested in being historians, you could help us better at that. They are nice old buildings to us, with great artistic presence.
