+Anglovox Actually you've got to be already fairly well-known to be underrated. The problem with the Jam in the States was they were practically unknown. Certainly by the mainstream. I remember it all too well (it took me ages to find any of their albums in the record shops in my parts- 1980, to be precise, with their just-released fifth album, Sound Affects. I couldn't believe I finally had my hands on a Jam album and duly bought it, having been already hooked on them just by what I had seen and read about them in Creem magazine). Anyway, most people who have really heard the Jam rate them pretty highly, even the critics. Unfortunately, those people are in the few and always will be. We. however, are fortunately to be amongst them.

@@peterigan1897 Yeh great album -The narrative its a shit record (which even Weller buys into) is for the sheep..Far, far better, more creative album than In The City n an equal with All Mod Cons for me
@@ScenesFromPalacio cheers, even the band kinda were like we are getting slagged by the .press And it didn't sell well. But,thier are some top tunes on that one.I loved it as a kid in the Usa!Awesome
The dreary Gallagher levers himself onto the same talent shelf as the Jam. Ha! What a fucking joke! Why get him involved? Modern World is a lovely nuanced album, with more dynamic variation than the first album. And Foxton's 'News Of The World' is a masterpiece! He should have been encouraged and nurtured more! Well er had the power AND his dad was managing the band. Little wiggle room for Bruce. But one of the finest bass players ever - punchy as fuck! Melodic as anything
Great Seeing & Hearing Shane MacGowan Again! In this Video Clip! All of Us would like to see "Eater" Re-Unite? & Go On Tour? In the U.K! & U.S! They would Tear It Up! & Every Live Reunion Show would be Sold Out! Just for being One Of The Greatest! & Very First Wave Punk Rock Bands & Legends Of All Time!!
Good up Vinny. Some great live footage in there...can't find the full gig or clips on youtube. Good doc, spoiled by Jonathan Ross' inane voice over. Is part 2 available?
eye think the audio and video are slightly out of synch ;) and isn't that wossy himself peering over Bruce's shoulder at 22:51? love the Jam. here's a cover of one of their tunes - soundcloud.com/eyemoeba/i-need-you-for-someone
This band was my youth and inspiration for life .42 years now and still love them.
Here in the states, The Jam are very likely.....THE MOST UNDERRATED band of all time. Stunning.

Thanks for the upload Vinny. I'm gagging for more. Not sure why a pair of wankers have given it the thumbs down.
On the bright side there has only been one more wanker in 5 years!
Away from the Numbers is where I'm gonna be...
The Jam's second album might have been their weakest, but "Life From a Window" is truly wonderful, as good as anything they ever did.
modern world is fantabulous.Fuck the brit press cunts.
Yes my favourite track ever
