RIP Mr Weller Snr, an inspiration and driving force for his son. The Jam were an incredible band, a force of nature. The right people, right time, right place, and of course the teenage Paul Weller to write some of the best songs ever. In my opinion.
Gary Crowley used to be on the reception at the NME office in Carnaby Street. I used to go in there all the time to promote my band and he'd always say hello and be very friendly - he's full of life and is genuiney enthusiastic about music - not like most DJs
@@anthonykerr311 Yes, absolutely! I went to see From The Jam a couple of years ago on the Setting Sons anniversary tour.Bruce was absolutely outstanding.Brilliant night.I just wish Paul had been there.
Mods! As a hippy, me, younger brother and my friends got chased by the fuckers regularly, usually twenty or thirty of them. Different story when the numbers were more even! Decked a good few of them then. Tossers!
Dad loved his boy... What a father! RIP Mr John Weller. God bless your soul great man.
I wish my dad was more like John Weller.
Paul's dad's intros were a great touch & made those concerts even more special.

So great that they always let fans in to their sound checks! Was lucky enough to be one of 'em.
And thanks for the footage. Very nice!
i used to go to the jam sound checks in Brighton back in the day, what a great time that was to be a teenager.

Newcastle City Hall...class
Great venue! My youth and early manhood years spent watching some great bands there!
All the Jam's roadies look like they work for The Greatful Dead!
I went to scores of gigs around this era and all roadies looked like that.
One of my biggest regrets is not seeing the Jam live
Same here.....Miles Davis too!!!!!!
i can't understand a word he says, but that is a totally awesome DAD.
