Even the RUclips imposter bots are on this channel now 😡 If you see anything to do with texting for prizes or whatever on "Telegram", it's a bot & it's likely a virus or something.
There is one sound in video games that will never fail to give me huge dopamine rushes: The sound of a successful parry in Elden Ring. The loud metallic sound, plus the sparks, and the enemy recoiling back as you prepare to jam your sword right into their vital organs. So satisfying to pull off against crucible knights.
I'm glad i'm not the only one who loves Mario's "Yeah! Hahaha!" from MK64 and Wario's scream from the first two Mario Party games. These two voice clips are so fun to listen to that i simply never get upset while playing these games because of them!
Wario also gives us 'D'oh, I missed!'. Music to my ears, so much so that when my brothers played Mario Party together we always made the 4th player Wario on Easy AI. He certainly seems to be the character who creates the most amusement through his own physical abuse if his games are any sign. It's also curious how most of the MP characters are far too nice to have much bite in their taunts... *except* for Wario ('LOSER!'), Waluigi ('You're lousy!') and Mario ('Hey, stinky!').
I find it funny how polite Luigi usually is then in Toadstool tour he just randomly drops a "You look ridicoloose." (That's how it sounds when he says it.) on you.
I love how that Wario exploding scene is a reference to Mr. Creosote exploding in The Meaning of Life. 😂 My older brother, Martin also loved throwing Lara Croft off of the floor of her own mansion using the dolphin dive. I also always imagined the sound of Mario when he gets burned in Mario 64 as a maniacal laugh. "My apple! Who do you think you are?!" always gets me since it 1st appeared on this channel.
I can understand that sort of nostalgia for something you've never experienced before. I get the same feeling when I see Windows 95 or games and websites from its era. I was born in 2003... It's not even like I had a really old computer to use; the earliest OS I remember using is WinXP. I have no idea how I get such a nostalgic feeling from before I was born
My favourite SFX is the one that plays when you finish off a boss in Dragon Quest 9. It sounds super cathartic and lasts just long enough to let you bask in the glory. If music also count, I really like Legend of The Dark Saint. It feels like the game is congratulating you for finally getting Overlord Mode's Good Ending.
Given you mentioned Dragon Quest (which, ironically, I was replaying IX just now), there's always a sound effect that stands out more than the others to me from the entire series: The spell casting sound. It's so nice to hear. And it never changes through any games, either. Honorable mention to the critical spell version, you instantly feel that something is going to happen the moment it plays (if it's good or bad depends on the caster, lol). -This is totally unrelated to me battling the boss that literally only uses spell attacks ten minutes ago. Totally.-
The Dragon Quest thing about "nostalgia for old things you only experienced recently" (poor way of wording it on my part but you get it) I get that for Phantasy Star Online 1 and it's general vibe and OST, I only experienced it in the past few years but I adore that aesthetic and the super chill techno vibe of the music... it's soooo good...
I remember always putting Wario in every game on the first two games because I found his screams hilarious. Speaking of satisfying sounds, being able to pull off a perfect Royal Guard in Devil May Cry has a very satisfying sound that never gets old to listen to, and it makes it all the sweeter if you manage to pull one off.
For me the most memorable sound effects have always been the menu soundeffects in games. Those seem to be the key for me to take me back to my childhood. To this day I distinctly remember what the menu sound effects from Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories, Devil May Cry, Dino Crisis, Dark Cloud, Jak and Daxter and many more sound like. It's always a nostalgia rush when I boot one of those games up and press around in the menus.
Holy cow, yes exactly. I seriously agree with Dark Cloud's menu SFX. I don't think a lot of people bear them mind, but you make a great point. I'd also offer up the Monster Rancher series for its menu sounds, too.
I really miss the voices of the N64 era for the Mario games. I feel like those are the more iconic ones when it comes to mario sfxs. And of course I have to mention wario's iconic "D'oh I missed" (even tho that's not what he actually says)
Oh my gosh, yes exactly. Aside from Toad not wanting to make me claw my eardrums out, I kinda like Yoshi's noises and Peach's voice a whole lot from the N64 era. To say nothing of Wario's great voice, as you've mentioned.
I personally always heard "So ein Mist!" (approx. means "God dammit!") when Wario did poorly at a minigame. As such, it was hilariously silly to me to hear Wario speak German in Mario Party 1 and 2, and still is to this day.
This is from a kind of obscure game, but the signature move from Wizard of Legend is one of the greatest dopamine hits in any game. The sound effect, the way the entire world slows down for an instant as if to say "woah, what did he just do?", and the absolute carnage that follows are a feast for the senses.
With Dragon Quest, it's the level up sound. It really makes you feel like you accomplished something. And also the Super Famicom version of the Dragon Quest 3 overworld theme. That just blows my mind with how bombastic and adventurous it sounds, that it really makes you *feel* like you're going on a globe-trotting quest to save the world. Out of all the DQ overworld themes I've heard so far, this is the one that speaks to me the most.
Ok that dragon breath in golden axe does sound great, same for hit noises I'll add, the golden sword looks more like a bar of butter to me Fav sfx in dragon quest still is the sound you make before you attack, It's this high pitched kinda thing that stuck and that I love

My personal contribution to DLMEA: The sea theme of Heroes of Might and Magic IV. Both nostalgic AND pretty charming on its own. Always happy to bring my army to a boat, knowing I'd hear it. Seriously, look it on RUclips.
One game sound in particular I always loved was in Drill Dozer for the GBA. After beating up one of the bosses they explode in a sort of short stock photo explosion slideshow accompanied with one of the most pleasing sounds I ever heard from that time.
In Sonic's games, I love the sound effect that the Flickies do when you catch them, is like a tiny jingle that sound so cute xD also I love the sound effecto of cracking boxes in Crash Bandicoot, followed for the sound effect that makes de wumpas when you collect them and the other when they added to you counter, it's therapeutic to me lol
There are plenty of sounds that do it for me. 3 of which include, but are certainly not limited to: 1. The "alert" sound in the Dragon Quest ganes when the game gives you a question prompt.(i.e., "is this name correct? Y/N?") 2. The thumping "BOOM" when you parry an enemies attack in a Dark Souls game. 3. The sound of shots being deflected in the Space Harrier arcade game.
I’m sorry that I am 2 months late, but I find it awesome that Whoisthisgit did Wario’s scream and oh my god exclamations that he does when he loses in Japanese Mario Party. Unfortunately he forgot the Doh I missed and So Ein Mist variants that Wario does when he loses in American Mario Party.
You'll probably never see this, Whois, but I just got The Ascent in Meteos, and I wouldn't have even picked it up if it weren't for you. Even better? I did it with Wiral, my 2nd-least favorite planet, behind Gigagush and beating Wars Forte. They just BARELY got 50 launches on Dawndus, first-tried Rare Cultures with Suburbion, wiped the floor with Hevendor Realm, and two-touched True Meteo with only 1 death. Maybe they aren't as god-awful as I thought... Edit: Oh, also, Denounment goes hard.
If you like the sonic 2 shield sound then you have got to listen to the sonic 3D blast Saturn one. That one is probably my all time favourite sound effect in anything ever tbh and is just a better sonic 2 shield sound
Since you mentioned Tomb Raider 2, my brother found Lara's grunt as she pulled herself onto a ledge amusing. It sounded like she was enjoying it a bit too much.
I wish he'd have showered his praise upon the Golden Sword instead, if you ask me. It's the ultimate form of evil's bane, no need to take the piss out of it. :v
I always did love Toad's MK64 voice. Especially his big scream; it makes him sound like a victim in the OTHER famous game series abbreviated MK. And as much as I prefer Pratt for the movie-they ARE channeling the SMB Super Show with _his_ Mario voice, and the tone overall will be a bit more serious-Martinet's Mario voice does indeed work better for MK. Think of the N64's release as the start of Mario's second childhood. And you're going to talk nostalgic Sonic sound effects without mentioning the jump sound THAT'S RIGHT EFFING THERE?! :

Everybody's doin' it! - The throwing SFX from Super Mario Bros 2, which is my personal "yeet" noise before yeet was even a thing. - The weapon SFX from Final Fantasy Tactics, especially the thrusting weapons like spears and poles. - The sound of plasma guns being fired in the original Fallout games, especially the plasma rifle (or plasma caster in NV and 76). - The Phoenix Down SFX from Final Fantasy 7, specifically. Especially as my OC who used it with Kilik's fighting style shouts that when using that style's super Critical Edge move. I like to think I'd caused some salt with online play using it. Honestly, it's my headcanon voice for a character of mine. Just wish they credited the custom characters' VAs. - Also Helpy's back breaking in FNAF Pizza Sim. Kinda like how Git loves Lara's neck snapping.
One of my favorite sound effects from video games is from the Genesis/Megadrive versions of NHL 95-98 which plays when you check someone into either the boards or the bench.
LOL I always found it hilarious out the CPUs in Mario Kart 64 tend to launch banana peels into themselves. I think it's because they're launching them at the same speed they're firing and it only happens if they are in your line of sight

Bizarrely, the GBC version of DQ3 has the most in it, but the Switch version isn't missing too much. But of course, there is another remake on the way, which should hopefully be the best of all.
@@whoisthisgit What Remake is that? And I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks mate.
