    Its really helpful. It's behaving exactly like CBR250R. 2nd 20kmph, 3rd 30-32kmph, 4th 40-43kmph, 5th 45kmph, 6th 55-60kmph. For cb350, It should have had lower gear ratio for 1-3 and 4th little shorter to have power for 5th gear. For a classic bike like this , if riding below 20kmph in 2nd is not possible then it's a big negative thing for CB350. Should have had in 15kmph at least for 2nd gear lowest speed.

    In congested cities perhaps one will use upto 3 gears only unlike Metore where there is no knocking even upon riding in 5th gear at as low as 40 kmph. I find it suprising that a 155 cc Gixer can be ridden in 5th gear @ 33 kmph without any knocking. My friend who owns a 50 year old Royal Enfield Enfield says that he can ride in top gear even at 25 Kmph speeds. I welcome any comments on my observations pl

    • @motovin77
      @motovin77  3 года назад +6

      With CB 350 its due to the the long stroke engine combined with tall gearing vs Meteor which is also a long stroke engine with not so tall gearing hence it manages to lower speeds in all gears compared to the CB350.
      On the bikes like Gixxer are not long stroke engines coupled with not so tall gearing, so they are able to run a lower speeds in higher gears - That's my understanding on this topic.

      It's smooth. But u have to down shift to 1dt gear everytime it slows to 20-15kmph and 1st gear shifting is at 20-25kmph, so it's like roasting the 1st gear in traffic...CB350 behaves beautifully for an open road, in traffic it's not very pleasent...

      4th and 5th gears are relatively tall, so the engine need to be kept on the boil to extract good torque, 5th is an overdrive. If speed drops below 70 kmph, you would need to downshift to 4th and sometimes to 3rd if you need to overtake... Torque in the 1-4 is amazing... 5th being an overdrive

      Three things play a key role in terms of ensuring smooth gear shifts.
      1, Shifting gears at correct speeds / RPM
      2, Clutch operation and perfect free play as per manual.
      3, Chain slack is perfect, not too loose or tight.

    While riding in Bangalore traffic, what if I hold clutch while the minimum speed slightly reduces like just below 20 at 2nd gear, 30-35 at 3rd gear and so on rather than shifting gear down for a sudden speed matching for the corresponding Gear....? Will at affect the engine life or performance in future..?

    • @motovin77
      @motovin77  3 года назад +2

      Riding on clutch, you will wear out your clutch assembly and the plates would burn out soon.
