Joey Forgot to mention a Major XDJ1000 Mk2 feature (not on MK1). With an XDJ1000 Mk2 you can plug an SP1 OR XP1 Pad controller into the USB socket to control all 8 Hot cues and Loop features instead of XDJ Performance screen.
That's a huge feature! I don't get why they don't make a nexus type player that's not for cd's with the same style button setup as the 2000. this is the best compromise I cant think of
It's unfortunate that pioneer makes such incremental updates for their media player line while increasing the price. There is still a large gap between this xdj and their cdj2000nxs2. The cdj900nxs is looooong overdue for a mark2 or a replacement for a better media player at the same price point. Thanks for the review, I hope that pioneer can expand features with future firmware updates, especially with the xp-1!
Can you search titles or artists? Or just filter via key, bpm, etc. I see in the video you say you may need to set up the search? Could you please let me know
Hi Joey, I have 2x XDJ 1000's MK1, A&H Xone PX5, Macbrook pro 2014. I cannot for the life of me control rekordbox in HID export mode. Everything is connect via USB hub and shows up in the settings on RB inc the agregator. when i click the wheel it shows the pc cable picture but doesnt allow me to scrow to assign decks. Stuck there. Any advice?
Edward Hines I don't believe so. From what I've read you can load up the CD tone file on the usb and use it that way into SDJ. Also no HID mode for SDJ.
Is there any recent actualization of software? The video is good but doesn't bring any new information. Thanks anyway. Can you make a video with the main differences between Traktor pro and Traktor scratch? Is there a way for a user that already have Traktor pro go to Traktor scratch to play with timecodes without buy the software again?
Considering this one is (still) around 1200 bucks, I *strongly* recommend everyone to get a Prime unit instead. Already better than any CDJ, and lightyears ahead of this XDJ toy. Beatjump only up to 4 beats? All performance controls via that outdated screen? Combined start/stop adjust? Cheap plastic everywhere? Only one USB port? Do yourself a favor and support the more innovative brand.
They're two very different products but yes I'd go for the Prime 4 in this case as well (there are very few instances where I'd go for CDJs/media players over a controller)
Waste of money. Do not buy anything form Pioneer now until teh releasse something to compete with recent Denon flagsip player as everything Pioneer currently makes is outdated already. Just wait.
Can't wait to see the XDJ-2000...
Perfect for home djing

Legacy probably, still lots of DJs want the CD slot, otherwise Nexus wouldn't have it at all.
I think the Denon SC5000 is cheaper than this unit.. and does a lot of what you want. @@adambrensen7090
Thanks for helping, Jupiter.

You're welcome, and thanks for your input Roberto!
What is a better upgrade? The xdj 1000mk2 or the cdj 900nexus?
Great review as usually.can the unit work with a serato mixer like the djm s9?
Thanks Lyndon! It should work alongside it using DVS (but not HID)

Yeah you can, I have them
2 years 2 late? Great review anyways, thanks 😊
Cheers :)

does it work in Traktor HId mode?
Can it be mapped for serato dj

Edward Hines No dvs mode I just updated my set & payed for the full serato Dj pro still don’t work

Compared to CDJ900NXS, which is the better buy? Pros vs Cons?
Great way so you don't have to rely on a computer just plug and play!
Yep!
Digital DJ Tips computers fail. It’s good as a back up
Yeah cool but insanely expensive for what you get!
It's up there :)
Just wish this had Serato HID control!
Maybe it'll come...
@@digitaldjtips Yes, would be really cool! I might get two of those to ugrade my setup (MCX8000) then
Let us know how you get on!
@@digitaldjtips Will do 😁

@@digitaldjtips Exactly. The XDJ is not a bad unit per se, just too expensive for what you get.

Thanks for weighing in :)
