Not too many DJ You Tubers talk about the DJM-750 or the XDJ 1000 MK2. They along with Pioneer want you to spend money on the high-end DJ equipment which I feel is unfair. Especially, when we are going through a pandemic and DJs are not gigging as often as before. This means for some, no income coming in. I am glad Pri yon Joni is bringing these DJ equipment to the surface. We need to know there are options!!
i have mk3 Pioneer cdjs and if i had the space i would still use them. Also the four channel mixers from Pioneer have great build quality and will last a long time so you get really good gear thats a few years old really cheap. You may still find gear like this in smaller venues or in secondary dj booths in larger clubs and Pioneer often makes incremental changes to a lot of their gear so your skill set can transfer more easily.
Nice review but.... The resolution of the internal sound card of the Pioneer DJM-750 MK2, as specified (e.g., 24-bit/96 kHz), refers to the quality of digital processing and the recording or playback of audio via the USB connection, not the analog inputs and outputs. This means that when you connect the mixer to a computer via USB, the sound card uses this resolution to digitize audio (for example, when recording your mix) or to play audio (for example, when playing digital audio from your computer through the mixer). The analog inputs and outputs, on the other hand, operate in the analog domain and are not directly affected by the digital resolution of the internal sound card. The quality of the analog signal is more influenced by the quality of the analog circuits and components within the mixer.
If I recall correctly, the 40 KHz (or 44.1or 48 or 96) is actually more of an audio resolution number. If you take twice as many samples per second as the maximum range of human hearing, you can identify any frequency being recorded from just two samples. I think it's the Nyquist-Shannon theorem? Technology Connections did a pretty good video about it.
If we are talking about the values 44.1khz, 48khz, and 96khz, it refers to Sample Rate. When I was speaking about 40khz, I was referring to Frequency Range.
This mixer is now my front runner for upgrading my Xone23:c to something with better sound quality and I have a Ddj xp2 so I’ll be using rekordbox which the 750mk2 is compatible with. Great video. Edit: Pri Yon Joni there is a used 750mk2 where I live in Canada but comes with no power cable, can I just use any standard computer cable for the mixer? Thanks.
I just came across this video, and I had a question. I wanted to get into a DJ set but I didn’t want a stand alone. I just purchased a DJM750mk2 and a pair CDJ900NXS brand new, what are your thoughts on this set up for a beginner like me?
Hi there I have the same set up, I bought the 750 as I mix with vinyl as well, and on several reviews it says that it has the better sound quality than other mixers on the market. I think both the mixer and xdjs are responsible priced, but all I can say is do your research and listen to all the reviews. I think I have had a result. Really recommend
Thanks for your videos, they are really good. Regarding to dj controller ddj-1000 vs standalone xdj-xz or other, is the sound quality the same?. I understand both of them work with digital signals so it doesn`t change or it is hope the sound quality will be better in the standalone.
Great review! I've been looking at investing in this mixer, a question though.... as it's now 4 years since it came out, do you think that Pioneer may be releasing a newer model any time soon?
Actually considering getting this mixer for my two Denon SC5000. Don't like the Denon mixer and love the Pioneer effects and Filter with parameter knob. Also the RMX1000 would integrate much better than in my current DJM800 mixer. Also the missing ProDJ link is not an issue when you anyway use it with Denon players. ;) Anybody have experience with DJM750MK2 with Denon players?
@@35ozgur I actually got now XDJ XZ. It's a strage combination with Pioneer and Denon but I actually like it and I have real four standalone decks + NXS2 like Mixer for a good price. But of course it is confusing as the denon and Pioneer Players are not connected so working completely independent (no Sync possible, not even beat counter of the master deck) and you can not see which tracks you have played on the "other" decks.
Interested in uprgrading to this set up coming from a ddj1000 but you just gave me an idea can i connect my rmx1000 to xdj-xz and would i be able to control it (the rmx1000 effects) idependently for each channel?
Either one is a great setup! I don't normally make recommendations for folks. I try to provide information so you can make a better decision on your gear. But with that said, the XZ is compatible with Serato. That may help sway your decision.
would you recommend buying the djm 750mk2 or allen heath xone px5? i am thinking of buying a new setup with two xdj 700s and it scares me the difference in audio quality between djm750mk2 and xone px5. thanks!
@@RC75 yeah, i went for an a&h xone 92, because of the 4 channel equalizzator. Tue filter is impressive and it went out that this was the best option that i could make, i suggest you to go for the 92.
Can o record straight to my usb stick on the 750, i can do that on my current djm350 and i want to ensure i can still do that if i was to upgrade (without the app)
I have the DJM 350 as well, but it does not record directly to a usb with this model unfortunately from all I have seen. That precise reason I always hesitate to upgrade.
@@rjmn1 yes, it’s works with cue points, loops and beat jump. Not as featured as it would be if you had it plugged into laptop as you’d then get slide effects etc but as a add on to this standalone system it’s well worth it anyway.
hi i'm doing a gig in about a week and was wondering wether or not this setup wil require a laptop or not, and if there is a built in link mode between the players so i will only need one drive?
@@feniks3065 I don’t use a laptop with mine. I only use the laptop to export tracks to usb. My players are linked by Ethernet cable so only one player needs a usb drive, you then just press ‘link’ on the second player.
Does this mixer's USB output for rekordbox, traktor or serato to work in performance mode? What is the USB output for ? The video doesnt explain that which I think is more important than fader start or aux returns. Lol please help. Good video by the way!
The USB-B port on the rear is for use with DJ software and audio interface connectivity with a computer. You can use it with Rekordbox. You can assign it in Traktor. You cannot use it with Serato since it is not a Serato supported product as mentioned in the video.
I don't think the 750mk2 is that bad of a choice, but why not go for a Reloop RMX90 or Denon X1800 for cheaper when they are all so similar to a DJM anyway

The load time of the cue points on the XDJ-1000nxs2 just takes so long. It’s really the only drawback.
