A lot of it is because "Post-Hardcore" is such a broad term, especially when compared to its other post brothers in Post-Punk, Post-Rock, and Post-Metal. All three of those have pretty specific definitions and sounds (Post-Punk being the broadest encompassing Goth to New Wave). Post-Hardcore on the other hand could refer to stuff that directly followed the original hardcore movement like Husker Du or Dag Nasty, the 90s noise rock influenced stuff like Quicksand or Helmet, or the 00s stuff that sits somewhere between Metalcore, Emo/Screamo, and Pop-Punk.
Ultimately, they're all valid definitions and it's not an incorrect title. Some people just like using their pedantic nature to be negative. Using it to create an encyclopedia of useless bullshit in your head is way more fun.
