Learning for Sustainability Awards 2021: Renfrew High School, Renfrewshire (Extended edit, Nov 2021)
Just start! Start somewhere and watch it grow! This advice has served Renfrew High School well in their journey to a whole school approach to Learning for Sustainability. Spurred on by the COVID pandemic and the need to create high-quality learning experiences during lockdown, the school used the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a powerful framework for learning. The response from learners and teachers was so positive that the school has now put Learning for Sustainability at the heart of its curriculum. In recognition of this achievement, Seonaid Forrester (Biology teacher and LfS Lead at the school) received a Highly Commended Practitioner Award in Education Scotland’s Learning for Sustainability Awards 2021.
