Hello there! I'm from Santo Domingo, born and raised and I really recommend you to visit the "Colonial Zone" so you learn about our history. Here is s list of my favorite beach : -Playa Rincón, Las Galeras -Cayo Levantado, Samaná -Bahía de las Águilas -Isla Saona (gooo!) -Punta Rucia -Playa Cosón, Las Terrenas -Lanza del Norte, Las Galeras From bávaro the easiest one would be "Saona Island" and maybe "Bayahibe" it is a MUST! In case you didn't know you are in the Atlantic Ocean side of the Island (but no one say it because The Caribbean sells more) , which tends to have more sea weeds and be more rough. The Caribbean side is quiter and the color also to my taste is better. Dominican food you should try : -Moro de guandules con coco y pezcado -Sancocho - Habichuela con dulces -Mangu con los 3 golpes -Empada de yuca -Donplines ahogado en queso -Sancocho de habichuelas I can go on and on but this at least should give you a good idea of where to start. Also my my favorite juices "Morisoñando" or "Mango+chinola" ♥️ Much love and blessing♥

What a lovely surprise! The DR. I have many French-speaking relatives who live there and in Haiti. It's an amazing island! The food is so good but not quite as spicy as it is on the other side of the island. Ah....the tropics, right on the cusp and for the duration of another crappy Canadian winter. Good for you! Enjoy.
Such a beautiful place! My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on that very beach area. It was very romantic and magical! But that was long ago. I hope you two enjoy your time there (and watch out for those big spiders, lol). Also, I lived in Nova Scotia for a couple of years and found it quite beautiful. I am in Ontario now. Emptyness is typical for October, off-season. Picks up week of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Summer, is super crowded, you will meet people from around the world there, if you stay longer when you planned.

We spent three weeks there back in 2009 at the end of August into September. My husband was on leave from his deployment to Afghanistan. We stayed at the Bahia Principe on the beach you are on, it’s up across from the rusty ship wreck. We loved it there, although if we had known better we would have moved around the island and stayed at a couple other resorts. We visited Santa Domingo, a coffee plantation, cigar factory, a diving day and a jungle/beach visit. The people there are so nice

Enjoy 😊! Wish I were there…. Only been to Playa Dorada and Samana (I’d picked both areas for the green hills backdrop though the sand isn’t as white and the water as calm & shallow), stayed at all inclusives, and only ventured out for walks around those 2 towns. Looking forward to your next videos.

Covid hit the tourist attraction really hard but it is opening slowly. I love Barcelo Barvaro Beach the place I stayed in March 2020 when the country decide to close the country. I am now back in the states. First tip is to find a restaurant you like to eat at night that required reservation. Those restaurants reservation fill out quickly. Second tip is to wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise. Bring a beach towel and some warm clothing then hit the free buffet for breakfast. Most of the orange juice and fruit juice are from powder. If you do find a fruit station in the restaurant that has a blender, you can ask them to make you a local fruit juice ex, Chinola, Papaya, Pinenaple etc. I am not sure if the resort you are staying offer local traditional food but the Sancocho, Mofongo, Habichuela con arroz, habichuela dulce (desert), fried plantain can be found in local restaurant. Most of the beaches outside of the resort, they have places where local folks visit the public beach and eat the fried fish with tostones, and janikekes. If you are in Santo Domingo and want a simple local sandwich Barra Payan is the way to go. Food is cheap and fresh juice is available.

So freaking happy to see you guys traveling somewhere warm again...I'm hoping to get to Santa Clara next month and Santo Domingo in the spring with my girlfriend...I've been missing the tropical beauty of beaches and palms...enjoy the culture,and delicious food...have a cocktail and cigar for me...it's getting cold here in Ontario again,( -1 last night ) its great to see the warmth. We are going to the DR in December as we have done for the past 3 years. The first year we went only because of the amazing deals offered. Remember when all the tourists were dying there a few years ago? We decided to take a risk. We stayed at the Riu Republica. All inclusive deal for both of us, including airfare, was under $1,400. We'd been to the DR for the day on cruises, that's all we knew! We have absolutely fallen in love with it. Beautiful pristine beaches for miles and miles. After the DR, we head to Puerto Vallarta for 2 months. I'm going to follow you guys and see where you go!
So far so good here in the DR as well. We're really liking it and can't wait to see more. We always wanted to visit PV as well. Maybe we will at some point - Trevor
All that tourist dying was a bad campaign because the previous president signed a deal with China and USA advise us not to do it. The most famous one was the lady staying on the Majestic resort beaten supposedly by an employee and At the end it was her own husband who punched her because she had an affair with an employee. People believe everything they see on TV. Also the media did not said that most of the people who died had serious diseases and were mixing alcohol with prescription drugs, on top of the fact changing from a sedentary life to swimming, walking, different weather, Blah blah blah... Why we will attack our main source of economy, we actually love guys! 😂🤣😂 It's been always love! ♥
I am from Ontario Canada and currently in your area living here for 6 months. I was here last winter for 5 months during the pandemic. I enjoy spending my days at Flamingo or Soles Beach Bar. You were very close during your bach walk. Thursday night Oct 28 at Kat's Corner not far from Melia is having a Halloween Party with Roza an imazing musician. She sings at California Beach Bar (beside Lopesan Resort) each Saturday afternoon. Welcome to the DR.

We are from Montreal and going to the Hard Rock Punta Cana for 2 weeks starting Nov 17 Loved your video. We love the HR and when we’re there in Nov usually every year there are never a lot of people. Usually the busy season starts on Dec through April

We’re actually planning a family vacation to the Royalton Bravaro in Punta Cana. So this is perfect. Keep in mind that October is the tail end of hurricane season. So that’s likely a good reason why there are so few people on the beach (and likely overall).

Hi again, Our first trip after vaccination was to the all inc. Hilton La Romana in Bayahibe. Just a beautiful beach and resort. Loved every minute of our stay.
I was there from Sept 28th until the October 5th. We stayed at the Occidental Punta Cana and it was my 3rd time there! Love the beach, the resort and everything about Punta Cana. Looking forward to watching your videos!!
Good time to leave NS as it is getting colder quick. I have been to most areas in DR and my favourite area was Samana. You won't get as harassed there as well. Have a great stay.
if you don't go to the cibao region you haven't been in Dominican Republic... by far the best region with beaches and mountains, i recommand for beaches samana and for mountains jarabacoa.
Great go hear.. I ll be there on the 5th of Nov at our favorite resort which is the Iberstar grand Bavaro..the swim out rooms and all you can eat lobster is always a winner for us.

We were looking at Mexico but the prices are so expensive. The Dominican seems a lot more reasonably priced. Looking forward to your review on the place your staying at! My only requirement is an excellent, long ocean/beach and it looks like this place checks that box :)

You should go to la presa de Tavera in sabana Iglesia, Santiago it's really beautiful there you will enjoy it and you can even take a boat to get there!

Suggestion: Samana peninsula is a must. In samana there is a beach that you guys must visit, it’s called playa Ermitaño, you will not regret it, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen
From Nova Scotia. Heading to DR- Juan Dolio after Xmas for a few weeks. Flying in Xmas Day actually :) Staying at a condo there, will be first time staying locally off resort. Looking forward to watching your upcoming videos. Maybe Juan Dolio is on your visit list? :)

We are going to the HardRock and they provide 2 PCR tests per room. You make your appointment upon arrival. :)

Remember when all the tourists were dying there a few years ago? We decided to take a risk. We stayed at the Riu Republica. All inclusive deal for both of us, including airfare, was under $1,400. We'd been to the DR for the day on cruises, that's all we knew! We have absolutely fallen in love with it. Beautiful pristine beaches for miles and miles. After the DR, we head to Puerto Vallarta for 2 months. I'm going to follow you guys and see where you go!
So far so good here in the DR as well. We're really liking it and can't wait to see more. We always wanted to visit PV as well. Maybe we will at some point - Trevor
All that tourist dying was a bad campaign because the previous president signed a deal with China and USA advise us not to do it. The most famous one was the lady staying on the Majestic resort beaten supposedly by an employee and At the end it was her own husband who punched her because she had an affair with an employee. People believe everything they see on TV.
Also the media did not said that most of the people who died had serious diseases and were mixing alcohol with prescription drugs, on top of the fact changing from a sedentary life to swimming, walking, different weather, Blah blah blah...
Why we will attack our main source of economy, we actually love guys! 😂🤣😂

I am from Ontario Canada and currently in your area living here for 6 months. I was here last winter for 5 months during the pandemic. I enjoy spending my days at Flamingo or Soles Beach Bar. You were very close during your bach walk. Thursday night Oct 28 at Kat's Corner not far from Melia is having a Halloween Party with Roza an imazing musician. She sings at California Beach Bar (beside Lopesan Resort) each Saturday afternoon. Welcome to the DR.

We are from Montreal and going to the Hard Rock Punta Cana for 2 weeks starting Nov 17
Loved your video. We love the HR and when we’re there in Nov usually every year there are never a lot of people. Usually the busy season starts on Dec through April

I would have guessed somewhere in Mexico with the initial announcement. Very interested in seeing how you keep yourself entertained in the DR for 4-6 months. Very interesting about the covid testing protocols to enter the DR. Enjoy the trip!

We’re actually planning a family vacation to the Royalton Bravaro in Punta Cana. So this is perfect.
Keep in mind that October is the tail end of hurricane season. So that’s likely a good reason why there are so few people on the beach (and likely overall).
So far it seems like the end of October is the perfect time to come. It barely rains and it gorgeous everyday 🏝 - Anna

Our first trip after vaccination was to the all inc. Hilton La Romana in Bayahibe. Just a beautiful beach and resort. Loved every minute of our stay.
I was there from Sept 28th until the October 5th. We stayed at the Occidental Punta Cana and it was my 3rd time there! Love the beach, the resort and everything about Punta Cana. Looking forward to watching your videos!!

Good time to leave NS as it is getting colder quick. I have been to most areas in DR and my favourite area was Samana. You won't get as harassed there as well. Have a great stay.
if you don't go to the cibao region you haven't been in Dominican Republic... by far the best region with beaches and mountains, i recommand for beaches samana and for mountains jarabacoa.
you have to go to la vega, santiago, puerto plata coastline, cabrera and in the south region bahia de las aguilas.
Samana folks!!! ✌🏻 Waaaay better than Punta Cana more things to see.

I just got back from the domican .on Friday I.stayed at the grand bahia .it was busy lots of people..I been to.the same resort 3 times..i love it
Stayed many years ago at the Melia and loved it, staff were wonderful!

Great go hear.. I ll be there on the 5th of Nov at our favorite resort which is the Iberstar grand Bavaro..the swim out rooms and all you can eat lobster is always a winner for us.

Thanks for the video! Can't wait to see your next video with your review. My husband and I decided we want to take an impromptu trip next month and we are thinking an all-inclusive. We were looking at Mexico but the prices are so expensive. The Dominican seems a lot more reasonably priced. Looking forward to your review on the place your staying at! My only requirement is an excellent, long ocean/beach and it looks like this place checks that box :)

Suggestion: Samana peninsula is a must. In samana there is a beach that you guys must visit, it’s called playa Ermitaño, you will not regret it, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen
