DISASTER ON THE BEACH in the Dominican Republic 😫 Las Galeras Samana Tour. Playa Fronton + Rincon 🏝

- Everyone told us that while in Las Galeras, Samana, the Dominican Republic, we have to go on a beach tour day to Playa Fronton, Playa Madame and Play Rincon by boat.

This beaches in the Dominican Republic, especially Playa Rincon is rated as one of the best beaches in the entire world.
Unfortunately things didn't go quite as planned. Our tour started about an hour late, the swells and waves getting to Playa Fronton were huge and quite scary. But we did get to see Humpback Whales (Humpback Whales are in Samana Bay from January to March each year).
At Playa Fronton we lost our drone (DJI Mavic Mini), but our tour guide ended up finding it, although it was broken so we were thankfully able to get some footage off of it. It also rained quite a bit while we were at the beach.
Because of the weather and the swells in the ocean we decided to skip Playa Madame and head straight to Playa Rincon. At Playa Rincon we had an awesome lunch and got to relax a bit.

You missed one really important thing in Playa Rincón is where the sweet river mountain water meets the ocean. It’s one of my favorite places in the island. I do usually drive to Playa Rincón. Hope you enjoy my island as much as I do.

There was so much going on in this video, that I have to say it's honestly one of my favorites of yours! Beautiful beaches, crazy boat ride (I would have been scared & excited at the same time), seeing the whales, and finding the drone! I have been to the DR at least 14 times over the years... my preference to the north coast... but WOW never seen anything like this... the colours, the water, the clif, it's just gorgeous but those swells ugh... hope your tummies are all intact :) Thanks for sharing this video. Hey, I am Rommian but I live in Wisconsin. There is the show Survivor in Romania (and was called Exatlon before) and is happening in the Dominicam every year from January to May or until July (last year).So even now they are there somewhere. And some other Europeam countries are doing there to. This is how I initially fall in love with DR. Watching Exatlom and Survivor.
I will be there in March and met my mom who will travel from Romania. Will be amazing to be there together and celebrate the show we watch together

That boat ride would feel like the equivalent of Canada’s Wonderland hypothetically creating an ‘Extreme’ version of White Water Canyon 🤢. I’m sorry to hear about the drone - it really is a miracle that it was found. I’m excited to see more DR videos, including those with The Endless Adventure!

Beautiful beaches and the colour of that water! I've only been to DR once, we stayed at the Bahia Principe El Portilo on the Samana peninsula and walked the beach right down to Las Terrenas.

😂 I had a similar experience a few years ago from Punta Rucia to Cayó arena, the ride was no joke. We thought about returning back few times. 🤣

It’s been a long time since I been to Dominican Republic, I believe since 2017 after I graduated from high school. Watching your videos adds more excitement in visiting home! Once in playa rincón, caño Frío river is a must see, the river is another level 👌. There are around 12 beaches in Las Galeras and I still don't know which one is more beautiful. Try to see colorada and playita beaches. Others interesting places are la ondonada, Cabo Cabron national park (cenotes), el cabito (Restaurant).
I still don't know why people go to punta cana and lost the most beautiful of the Dom-Rep (Samaná).

You missed the river “caño frío” right there in playa grande. You were walking towards the river at the end of the video. It is located at the other end of the beach. Since you are in Las Galeras maybe you can come back driving.

I know how you feel, we saw ours crash in the mountain and fall into the water a few years ago in Greece. Hopefully it could get fix. Great video. We’ve never been to DR. We’re booked at the Royalton Chic next week for 7 days. But I’m not much into being around a lot of people, so next year we will be going to this area. We’re flying into Santo Domingo and have a rental car for 8 days so we can explore. This is probably quite a drive for a day trip, but who knows. 😁

Seeing the whales was so great... those seas were rough. A lot of folks were seasick and you can see a few people lying down in the video that were not sun bathing 🤢

I can't believe you found that drone! I had a similar experience with my Mavic Pro while flying it over Baddeck. It was beeping "return home" but I couldn't see it and the battery was running low. Finally saw it just as the battery was almost dead and it overshot the takeoff point so I had to chase it down! Lol. Hope you can get it repaired, it takes such great shots. I was totally feeling your pain when you lost it!

I like a Dozen trips to Las galeras, I have never seen the water that Rough.. but then I usually go the week of Easter and the whales are also long gone. the Beauty of that beach is mind blowing. and yes you can drive there . Years ago the Road to Rincon was extremely rough, but they have graced it, and fixed it , and its not bad . I would not advise Camping overnight though, as some do, unless you have a Dominican Guide with you.
Also I would have ventured down to the other end of Rincon by the River , really nice and even more Chill there . They also have food and drinks and Umbrellas and all that . Also I did not see Playita in this Video.. a very beautiful small Beach , easily accessible with a Parking lot and restaurant and Beach shack. That is a very cool hang out spot. Good Video.. but definitely go back when the weather cooperates, and you will have a completely different experience.

That restaurant in rincon beach food are delicious food cook with charcoal it just organic i never going to forget my trip to las galeras. I recommend caño frio river and beach samana it just amazing. 👌

@@DelightfulTravellers no they wouldn't even let us go out. So got there and then had to do the 2hr drive right back. Was disappointing for sure!!!
