Such an excellent talk. I've become super critical of any main stream anything over the last several years. I could go on at length... I recently watched a guy (doctor?) review herbal books. He decided that Rosemary Gladstar's books should be taken with a grain of salt because they weren't really backed by science. That just opened a whole thought process for me. I get where he's coming from but I feel like experience and history hold a lot of clout. I'm also interested in Dr. Vinay Prasad's take on the treatment of COVID. He's very critical because there are no large, randomized trials etc. But there are a lot of doctors out there (Dr. Pierre Kory)who have have had a lot of success with their treatments. Of course, the pharmaceutical companies hate all this- why would anyone research something they couldn't make gobs of money on? Anyway, I very much enjoyed your thought provoking talk! Thank you!
You seem to have the most scientific approach of any herbalist I've studied from - it's clear that you've taken the time to consider every side of the study of herbalism you possibly can and as someone with strong Virgo placements, I am rather picky in who I choose to study under 🤓 I really like the 'we are not a petri dish' analogy and I think there's something to be said about our bodies having the intelligence to know what to do with the intelligence of the herb in a way that simply can't be replicated in said petri dish. So THANK YOU for being so generous with all of the knowledge you've gathered and taking on this mission to empower those of us who choose this path. 🌈🌱🌺🌿🌠
I know a guy who ripped out a huge elderberry out of his yard cause his kids wouldnt stop eating it after he read about that bad study. I asked him if he'd ever had bad side effects from it in years past and he was like "no but... its bad now right?" Poor guy. I explained that american elderberry is okay to eat small amounts raw and that if there was a problem the kids would probably get tummy aches.
This is such an important discussion. The one that troubles me most is Red raspberry leaf. From the NIH: “Childbearing women have been using various herbs to assist with pregnancy, labour and birth for centuries. One of the most common is raspberry leaf. The evidence base for the use of raspberry leaf is however under-developed. It is incumbent on midwives and other maternity care providers to provide women with evidence-based information so they can make informed choices. The aim of this study was to review the research literature to identify the evidence base on the biophysical effects, safety and efficacy of raspberry leaf in pregnancy.” --yet we know that ancients of most cultures have been using this herb in the same way and that this herb, when isolated, has the chemical components necessary for pregnancy, labor and recovery. It’s a reminder that science is always behind. It’s always delayed understanding.
German Commission e., Chinese, Ayurvedic and Native medicine I my go to. I have a PDR for herbs, which covers a lot of the for mentioned. Even WebMD and Pub med can say, basically showed significant results or had been used for…. But then follows up with further research is needed, or no research has shown, etc, but it gives a good place to start.
For me the funding and lobbying aspect of scientific research is where the issues arise. Bias and fraud being the big questions. Many people feel that capitalism pushes innovation, but it can stifle it just as easily depending on the financial goals of those backing the research financially. If only the wellbeing of the people was the true goal across the world, rather than raw profits.
Petrol dishes and rodents. 😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks but I will go with the medicine ppl that have been doing this since time emmorial. Obviously they serve a to a certain degree but this whole new order of science church is out of natural law. It's great for prosethetics

Glad it was helpful!💚
Unfortunately I've had my immune system compromised by those shedding Thier gene therapy. Eeeeww. Lots of blueberries and elderberries.
This is so helpful! I made notes and have a lot of new, valuable information! Thanks a lot!
You're so welcome!💓
Very true your analysis. Now, what are the useful herbs to treat the new issues which plague people in today’s world?
You might need to be more specific 😆
Well, I was making reference to something he alluded to… the iil effects of the counter measures… Intentionally vague…
