    Amazing performance! Is that Sergei Nakariakov on trumpet in the band?

    • @jimmanariotis1883
      @jimmanariotis1883 2 года назад +11

      Yes, that's him! By playing in an ensemble and not being the 1st trumpet in the latter, shows how modest he is. He inarguably is one of the world's greatest soloists, but I can understand that he doesn't have that diva attitude and he just wants to play music for the beauty of it.

    some of this should be ‘swung’ not ‘straight’ regardless of the ensemble players but it’s enjoyable anyway…bravo

    Sounds like a classical rendition of jazz tunes! Not sure why he performed it that way but I do love Christian Lindbergh beautiful tone dispite the boring piece.

      Jazz for the classic public, and classical for the jazz public ... anyway, a great performance and refreshing interpretation.

    Sentimental Over You is a disservice to the original composition and style and not sure why it was played that way.

    Ich bewundere Herrn Lindberg schon seit vielen Jahren - halte ihn für einen exzellenten Posaunisten,der sein Instrument ganz bestimmt besser beherrscht als Glenn Miller es je vermochte. Selbst Tommy Dorsey und Jack Teagarden hätten noch viel von Herrn Lindberg lernen können...
    ABER : als grosser Jazz Fan und Liebhaber der grossen ,klassischen Big Bands kann ich nur empfehlen - zerstören sie bitte nicht die schöne Musik Millers und Dorseys und versuchen sie nicht den genialen Jack Teagarden zu imitieren/interpretieren oder sonst irgend etwas...

      I totally agree. He’s an amazing classical player but definitely not the best of jazz player. I wonder if he listened to original recordings?

      He's a classical trombonist; he never played a Teagarden part unless taken from Dorsey's theme song.

    Nothing wrong with the arrangement for classical players. Nothing wrong with the playing. The interpretation just doesn't work. The glissandi made me cringe.
