Damn, I still remember reading about how we did "not need standalone MPCs anymore" because everybody did have PCs in and out of studios back when the MPC Renaissance came out. And I remember telling my local store that it wouldn't be long before people realize that controllers are basically glorified remotes... Turns out we are now going back to standalone production centers...
Probably the..most significant production tool on the market today. Mine arrived today. An absolute force on it's own, also allows the flexibility to accommodate all your other plug ins, export or import, which makes it a no brainer. Very impressive technology. Learning to navigate it however, is likely not so simple. I will enjoy learning mine, despite the obvious frustration I'm sure to endure.
Elvin Lewis are you saying you can third party plugins, like ssl, waves, superior drummer really and you can record the tracks as midi as in computer DAW. but I see one doing. All I see is people chopping samples of other people. I see no one recording live guitars into it. So how can it be a real standalone studio where computer not needed. I wanna know
@Voir Dire I have Native Instruments too. Komplete 12 Ultimate CE, Maschine Studio, MK3, and Komplete MK2 (keys). Still love the Force, which is now, light years beyond what it was when it came out. And still, the beast of the studio.
I had one for 3 years(until it was paid for) And although I loved it, It was a beast and far too big for my workspace. So regretfully I sold it and bought an MPC live, which was what I should have bought in the first place. BUT if ever I get a larger studio the MPC X will be top of my list, it is a superb instrument and well worthy of being the centre of any studio.
Mpc 5000 is still the beast with 196 gb of ram and a 150 Gb internal drive (shipped with 80) vs the Xs 16 gb of ram and 2gb drive. Plus it had a real synth
I promise I'm not trolling, but... bruh... the MPC 5000 has MEGABYTES of ram, not gigabytes. As of September 2022, you can build the most technologically advanced gaming PC available and still not get near 196 GB of ram, nor would that amount be necessary for anything other than a Google server farm lol MPC 5000 actually had 64 MB of ram, expandable to 192 MB. The internal drive had 620? MB of preloaded sounds. For comparison, the MPC X has 2,000 MB of ram, and a 16,000 MB internal drive (10,000 MB is used for preloaded sounds), expandable to 1,000,000 MB.
they should have put a video together when u bought this machine on how to work this machine u tube ok but it's little Snippets I love the video in the whole break down
can it do 2 midi channels separate from tracks? i'd like to combine a keyboard and digital piano, to jam all together on 2 separate tracks to edit both instruments
i HEARD HIM SAY THIRD PARTY PLUGINS. Do you really they can load in something like Addictive drums or guitar rig and it they could be used.? wanna know!
I think it's different. The only other one I've seen with Anderton's was like right after NAMM or maybe during but after hours or something, but it was just Andy and ONE Anderton rep.
Mpc5000 never got out of sync on me... and all that high tech they did on updates etc etc and wireless..im better off with a cubase.. 5000 better tighter sequencer also 500 ftw.
Pricepoint is disqualifying it from the majority of current and new MPC users. The Pro studios are using DAW's now, so aside from a rich kid getting one who else is ??
I just got one and I wouldn't say that I am rich. To me, it's not about how much money you have anyway but more about how serious you are about music production. I didn't want my entire productions software based and this was one of my biggest reasons for buying the MPC X as well as all of my studio gear that I have and continue to buy. I wanted a studio that would not just show up on some computer screen but show up in a room as well. After all, this was what music production was all about from the very start, hardware.
LOL I'm an old age pensioner on pension credit(That means I'm classed as very poor) and I bought one, admittingly it took 3 yrs to pay for it(on credit) but it was a small enough payment each month that I didn't have to go without anything to pay for it. So rich is not necessary, but a credit card helps.
I'm honestly sick of the MPC X and software version 2.0 videos. Only because Akai projected a first quarter release of the new hardware & software, but here it is about halfway through quarter 3 and a shaky release of the new hardware and STILL ONLY a BETA version of the new software & ONLY for owners of the new hardware. Basically Akai is STILL just TESTING the new products, they just made it available to a FEW more people in an attempt to quiet complaints.
Dug Nice As every serious developer nowadays, Akai let potential buyers know of their current states of progress, in order to have the feedback make an impact on developing a better product. There will always be companies focusing solely on self profit by releasing unfinished products. But Akai (after years on taking the wrong path) seems to finally want to live up to the Professional label again. The now shipped product and the current software seem to be as unique and as perfect as an MPC should be.
Stand alone but you do everything from a really small computer screen that you have to touch all the time to do anything. To me it sounds like it’s much less stand alone than the renaissance. Maschine MK3 has a better workflow without looking at a screen and you don’t have to touch a screen once. 80% of your time is touching the small screen so it’s basically a 2200$ ipad
You dont have to touch the screen because this as well as all mpcs have cursors below the jog wheel. Having touch screens are great additions on new models especially when cursor switches go down. My 2500 is in the shop right now for that.
Had both, Maschine is great but the MPC beats it hands down, its just more complete, more polished, and ignore what the naysayers are telling you, the touch screen is amazing, nothing like looking or using a computer, its a true multitasking instrument especially since the 2.10 update.
Still pissed at Andy because he teased about an OS update for the mpc 5000. Akai will never get a dime from me after I spent thousands of dollars on a new 5000.
Fuck Akai. I bought a 5000 new and got burned because they quit doing updates. They could've done so much more with it. At the very least release the thing so JJ can fix your mistakes. I'll never buy another piece of Akai equipment

Elvin Lewis have fun
Alpha Omega you can record live guitars into it so there u go smarty pants

it is now that Akai added synths in 2.3 and three of them at that.
That touch screen looks exhausting. The machine seems quite capable though.

@@rationalthinker1 as opposed to a software update based synth ;)

You need to check your unit of measurement, mb not gb

You're right! I play horns, bass, keys and drums and I would want to record the all in one machine without the computer
Thanks for the audio tracks. Can I please have more than 8 in stand alone though possibly.
Sincerely
Grateful for all the advances
It'd be nice to get a dedicated mixer window with all the tracks laid out. Like maybe 6-8 tracks per page.
you mean like the akai force? YES please.
It's AMAZING.
its the goat!!!
can it do 2 midi channels separate from tracks? i'd like to combine a keyboard and digital piano, to jam all together on 2 separate tracks to edit both instruments
Yes it can.. ;)
Powerful controller device.
the Mpc X is the Mpc 4000 and 5000 mixed together
Too late for this I’m happy with the Mpc Pro for iPad and I make fat track’s!
can you load projects into the X that have been done on say a 2000xl?
RallyDon82 not as far as I’m aware of
"Audio tracks are linear". Can you time stretch/chop/copy/paste sections of 'audio' to your hearts content?
Highland Fleet Lute yeah it seemed he skipped the ability to demonstrate one of the important part of MPC workflow
That's covered at 4m
After Song Converted I hear Mutes Sounds going on and off. Anyone have this same issue?
question is it any way to convert the mpc 5000 compact flash drive to use on the mpc x??
Why would you want to use the actual flash drive? You can probably load the files though if that's what you mean?
i HEARD HIM SAY THIRD PARTY PLUGINS. Do you really they can load in something like Addictive drums or guitar rig and it they could be used.? wanna know!
In controllermode via the MPC software or ableton...
Can you freeze audio from external midi gear?
I had the same carpet on my wall, made in USSR😹
My mpc x keeps cutting of soon as I cut it on????? Omg I'm sick please someone help me.
ITS CUTTING OFF AS SOON AS I CUT THE MPC X,WHAT GOING ON YALL!👌🏿💪🏿🙏🏿
truemixer1020@gmail.com is my email
Isn't this the SAME EXACT VIDEO you guys posted a few months ago?

1990 is calling... they want their pop beat back
They cant have it, we need it because todays beats are garbage.
Lmao

did he just say 1599 pounds which means around €1800 in euro's
Babar yes he did. 2200 us. Where have you been. This is a expensive monster that a lot of people have had on their shopping list.
Do you need wifi
No

SHO mE SOMETHING THAT I CAN't do in DAW.
not for you? more for me.
Make a tune Without turning your computer on!
I WOULD NOT EVEN TAKE IT AS A GIFT. OTHER FOR IMMEDIATE RESALE.
back under the bridge please....
ANNOYING MUSIC COMES OUT OF THIS WASTE BOX
