    If you are having trouble getting your 4wd to respond to the selector check your connectors on the transfer case and anywhere else you maybe have been working and make sure they are going in all the in and make sure they are staying all the way in. I have had problems with seals on connectors swelling on different areas of my truck. Also make sure all of your wires are connected. I have been beating my head against the wall and throwing money at this POS for weeks only to find out I have a broken wire on the connector to the transfer case shift motor. Put a jumper wire on it and everything all of a sudden works. Of course the wire is broke at the connector so I need to replace it but I still have time to clean up the yard before winter gets here.😁

    I thinking I have an issue with the 4wd on my 2009 silverado. It shifts fine and I can feel it shift in the Tcase but it seemed like the front wasn't spinning at all. Could a bad actuator cause this? I have only noticed it once and haven't had a chance to climb under and check things out because of the weather.

    Good afternoon, can you tell me the part code?

    Bro I was told to place the truck on natural before moving the 2wd to auto and 4 high and 4 low. You had your truck on park no neutral

      @andycaldwell4828  Год назад

      You need to be in neutral in order to switch to 4 low. That is all.

    Thank you for your video. I recently replaced the actuator motor and I had some oil coming out from the hole. Is that normal ???

    • @andycaldwell4828
      @andycaldwell4828  2 года назад +1

      Yes. Yes it is normal. The gear oil is from the the front differential where the actuator threads in.

    couldnt you have pulled it out and reconnected the wires and test it before just swapping it out

    • @andycaldwell4828
      @andycaldwell4828  4 года назад +2

      Yeah, I guess you could have tested current through the wiring before installing the new unit. There are a lot of other videos out there where people were having issues with bad wires and wiring harnesses. My issue was that I was getting an intermittent "Service 4x4" alarm frequently, but not all the time, often only when actuating the 4wheel drive in winter conditions. So I just ultimately decided to change parts out and I haven't had any issues since.

      @@andycaldwell4828 good to know, and your right you never notice it not working until you need it, as I did yesterday.
      Mine engages intermittently. When does engage as soon as I start moving it disengages throwing the check 4wd light

      @@bills4275 Wow. I hope its not the front differential. The culprit could also be the transfer control case, you may want to look into that as well.

      @@andycaldwell4828 the 4wd went out on my Chevy Colorado I bought the transfer case actuator and the solenoids that go connected down there as well there are two I believe still nothing. I bought the actuator today for the front axle before replacing it I unscrewed the old one and tested it nothing happened, i saw a video with a functional actuator and it expands outward mine does nothing so I figured it’s bad. I installed the new one and still nothing. Could it be the harnesses? I also checked the tccm I believe that’s what it’s called it’s under the carpet on the driver and it looked good.
