  • Godehard Brüntrup is a professor at the Munich School of Philosophy.
He deals with consciousness phenomena and has had an NDE himself.
    Contents:
00:00:52 Near-death experiences are fantasies, dreams or just made up - do we take the easy way out by choosing such simplistic explanations?
00:06:22 The life review - If near-death experiences are triggered by the brain in whatever form, isn’t it incredible that the focus of near-death experiences is on ethical and moral aspects?
00:09:42 Which strategies would you generally suggest in order to deal with this phenomenon of near-death experiences?
00:13:17 Couldn’t it be the longing to explain something in simple terms within the framework of an established and familiar conception of the world?
00:17:20 The question whether the brain creates consciousness or transfers consciousness also plays a central role in the assessment of near-death experiences.
00:18:53 There is also the phenomenon of a terminal clear mind …
00:21:18 Which connections do you see between near-death experiences and religion?
00:23:11 Don’t you think that many established religious representatives might worry when there are people out there who’ve had a revelation outside of holy texts?
00:26:09 So your conclusion is that it is about valuing near-death experiences as a deep mystic experience?
00:29:20 What does this mean for you with regards to coma patients or people who are prepared for organ removals?
00:36:50 What prompted you to look into the topic of near-death experiences?
00:39:58 Was it difficult to talk about your own near-death experience?

I absolutely love this channel! I was clinically dead for four minutes, no heartbeat no brain activity, Then I was on life support for three days, they were the best three days of my life! Without the limitations of a human brain, I could tell what everybody was thinking including being aware of my mother abroad getting on the plane to come to London to say goodbye to her daughter because they had told her I had hours to live! I had 17 surgeries to save my legs which they said I would never walk again! Today I go jogging all the time! It took me a year to get out of hospital, but I did it, standing up with crutches! I was able to tell the surgeons what they were talking about and what he was thinking about while they were trying to bring me back to life! I’m looking forward to die now, because there is no death! We really really are omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent! And we could have been to that part of ourselves while we are still physical and we all have a sixth sense- it’s our emotions!

Incredible! I'm so happy to hear how you have recovered and a little bit about what happened when you "died". I've been listening to interviews and learning about nde since 2018 and it's so encouraging to understand that we truly are eternal.
You might consider being interviewed on two different RUclips channels that have wonderful hosts and audiences. The channels are the Jeffmara Podcast and We Don't Die Radio, hosted by Sandra Champlain. It helped me more than I can put into words, to be able to cope with multiple deaths that year. I know it helps a lot of people who are grieving to learn that our physical death is not the end of us and we go to an amazing place after we leave our bodies.
You would help a lot of people by telling your story. I'm not sure how I would have been able to get through all of my losses without having some new information that gave me hope. After all this time I've become even more convinced that what people who have had ndes describe is legitimate.
I suppose there may be some people who make up stories. But I think for the most part the people that speak out are genuinely interested in helping others by telling their stories. Please consider going to both of those channels and listening to some nde interviews and then you can decide if you want to contact the hosts.

Fascinating. After reading, listening to, and observing hundreds of cases, I'm coming to the conclusion that the term “NDE” is becoming increasingly inadequate to refer to what happened to these people.
The most obvious feature of the experience is not that they just got "near" to something. They were effectively right in the midst of the mystery. The raw meaning of their existence, in an environment that, in their own words, was more real than our waking conscious reality. Most of them do not believe that death is final or that it even exists.
It's clearly an augmented conscious experience, not quite related to our poor concept of death.
But I think changing that acronym will only happen when our collective understanding of consciousness and life in general also improves.

I notice three distinct commonalities among people who merge with the light during their NDEs.
      1) An overwhelming feeling of being intensely loved, which often begins before the actual merger.
      2) A realization they they are made of the same conscious stuff as the light, that they are one with the light.
      3) They have a complete understanding of all of reality, which they all lose memory of when they "uncouple" from the light and return to their bodies. But they do remember that they had this knowledge while merged with they light. They just can't recall what it is.
So yeah. They're not near it. They're IN it! LOL

I'm glad that those who have had these very mysterious, wondrous NDEs are taken more seriously now.
It cheers me up that science can't come along and debunk them. The scientists clever though they are don't know everything.
    Death is not just death!
Also, the events in these NDEs give me hope as they may offer a degree of accountability to one's actions in life.
Perhaps there's some justice after all?
And to also give hope to all of those who have lost someone they loved is the infinitely the best! ♡

I remember feeling alone, distanced and detached from society around age 18 after my out of body experiences. It was like feeling homesick. I wanted to go back to that other world again. I can relate with how this gentleman describes how he felt after his own out of body experiences as a child.

VERIFIABLE/VERIDICAL NDE's have the best case of validity. Hard to dispute what is seen/heard by 3 or more parties and may not even know the person who is having the NDE. Even when the brain is flat lined EEG, they are still able to remember their experience's while this is taking place and many years later. Amazing by this itself. Then to have someone verify this actually happened would be amazing!
To have a NDE outside of a traumatic event? Who says you can't. Guessing it would have to be Traumatic, to either the brain or the body to have one. Doesn't take away from the NDE at all. NDE's just makes sense. Thanks Thanatos TV EN

I am fully Conscious now; it seemed to evolve slowly. However, I am beginning to realize that I acquired a different mind set after the 3rd (or 4th) episode. Now that I've listened to this podcast, partitialy, I realize that during my last hospitalization, I was in a semi private room with a dying woman. There were 2 people in the room watching us...monitoring us. Apparently, I had just awakened, being transferred from another hospital to a local Navy Hospital. I immediately complained to the staff that the two people monitoring me were hired Street people, and that the woman wailing in the bed next to me was dying. I requested a different room. Within 15 minutes the Street people were removed, and so was the dying woman. Apparently I slipped in and out of sleep or consciousness because I eventually found myself back at the rehab center.
I fully accepted the reality of my physical disability and eagerly began physical therapy. I could continue, but this is only the beginning of my changed mind set. I watched on cable TV, the Iraq War unfold, knowing fully that the US Government was telling us POPPYCOCK. Then later came 911, which I knew immediately that we had been fed more Poppycock! This is only my newly formed Consciousness...it took several more years before I experienced a "shift" in my sleep, as Eckhart Tolle reported. Following this, I immediately understood much of Eastern philosophy, as taught in Meditation practices of early Tolle. He has had to alter his approach to meditation as he realized much of what he hoped to accomplish was simply not realistic. I could elaborate more, but I think my drift is clear. I would love to compare notes with those who have experienced similar changes in Consciousness, followed close encounters with DEATH.

Another important aspect of the life review is that people not only relive their own lives in great detail, but they co-live empathichally the sensations of the people involved in the events of review. The near death experiencers can feel on themselves the effects that their own actions had on the others. So how could a dying brain make you feel the sensations of other people and reflect on the consequences of every action and on the meaning of life in general?

For our knowledge is always incomplete and our prophecy is always incomplete, and when the complete comes, that is the end of the incomplete. Very recently, I've been thinking that Alzheimer's and Dementia are not the result of organic brain breakdown. Could it be from collateral confusion and lack of identity? Authoritarianism originating from parental influence creates a mind set in many people. Is it any wonder that many people are confused and "stuck?" I do not believe Alzheimer's has been throughly studied. The surface of these mental breakdowns has barely been scratched. We are working with outdated models, as far as I'm concerned.

I suppose that the start of a proper systematic analysis of the NDE would be two organize 2 divisions or categories of experiences, one category would be those experiences that occurred durring the person's lifetime in the body, and those that did not occur in the body, for example, heavenly cities, or morbid hells. Also, for example, the shoe seen on the third floor of the hospital during the NDE in which it was physically impossible to se it up there on the ledge. A set A , set B, subset C organization of what elements of the NDE experience are common to all, and which elements are unique to one particular individual. Merely passing opinions back and forth accomplish nothing so far as , for example, defining the difference between the dream state and the NDE. But the final stop in our contemplations is consciousness/life does continue after the body can not be inhabited. My own belief is that God wants all his creation to be in heaven, either drawn into heaven by love, or driven into heaven by terror. Thank you for your creating this forum as an honest encouragement to those people confronted by "death".

You are trying to correlate the driver of a vehicle with the motor of that vehicle. The motor or brain of the vehicle does nothing, until the driver asserts control. Then the driver (consciousness) and the motor (brain) and the vehicle itself (body) can operate as one. When the body and brain are inactive, the driver is still active and can either exit the vehicle and leave, or watch over the vehicle as it is repaired, or get back in and drive the vehicle again. The motor and vehicle are always under the control of the driver. Until the driver exits and leaves. And the driver brings with it, the breath or spirit, to activate the vehicle for movement. The brain is the interface to move the body for result only. Conscious spirit is the cause.

Not a bad way to articulate it. Sadly we live in a world that only accepts materialistic answers. It’s going to take a personal experience for the skeptics to acknowledge what many have already been trying to articulate.

I've had at least 3 NDs, due to an emergency brain aneurysm, surgical stroke, and allergic reaction to Dilantun. The standard NDE,
popularized on RUclips etc., always confused me, since I experienced no such similarities. I eventually decided those that claimed NDE were spinning Poppycock...NONSENSE!

I truly don't know if the brain creates or transfers Consciousness. It's a good question; off the top of my head, I would say the brain transfers Consciousness. Or the opportunity for Consciousness is created. There is still much to do, in order to develop full Consciousness. However, a seed has been planted - seemingly in the brain...yet it would be impossible to know the location of the "implanted seed." Where do sleep dreams originate. Is this known? If the brain has conscious and unconscious matter, the seed allows more of the unconscious to slowly evolve - perhaps with greater drive and force, then possible in those that came close to death, but not near to death. Of course, these ideas are only entering my mind, as I key them into my smartphone. Believe me, a person is totally "out of it" when near death. And to imagine a brain aware enough to elucidate thoughts and feelings, and visions seems very unlikely.
But brain surgery is different than heart surgery or stroke. When a person is physically unconscious, not much awareness of anything is possible.

    1.
3:20 Godehard Brüntrup -"The main reason being that apparently near-death experiences occur in situations where the brain doesn’t work under normal circumstances anymore."
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? "The brain doesn’t work under normal circumstances anymore"?.
I think it is time Near Death Experiences were be divided into 2 categories:
    1. Medication/anaesthetic/drug-induced NDEs - these happen in hospitals under medical care and outside hospitals in people taking recreational drugs.
    2. Spontaneous/meditation/prayer-induced NDEs or sleep-induced NDEs - these have nothing to do with medications, anaesthesia and drug.
So here Godehard Brüntrup seems to have referred only to NDEs that were medication/anaesthetic/drug-induced and left out of the equation the entire category of spontaneous/meditation/prayer-induced NDEs or sleep-induced NDEs. Big mistake.
    *************************************
    2.
6:45 Werner Huemer - "If Near-Death Experiences are triggered by the brain in whatever form, isn’t it incredible that the focus of near-death experiences is on ethical and moral aspects?"
This is one of the most interesting questions I have heard on any NDE RUclips video..
    ************************************
    3
40:40 Godehard Brüntrup - "And even today, I still do it with a certain reluctance because there is such a big disparity between what I experienced and what I’m able to express in language".
Oh come on Mister Brüntrup! Here you are not on morning television but on Thanatos TV where there is a large audience who comes here precisely to hear as many details as possible about Near Death Experiences! It is very disappointing that you didn't tell us your story and blamed it on Human language not being adequate! Please change your mind and come back on Thanatos TV with a new video entirely about your own NDE!

I understand that Godehard Brüntrup is reticent to discuss his near death experience. But now that the cat is out of the bag, why didn't the interviewer at least press the issue so we can hear in Mr. Brüntrup's own words either some segments of his NDE that he may be willing to share or a confirmation that he won't.

The God word is so loaded with " crap" and homemade interpretation , all to what suits the purpose fore the individual - preferable a male. Its peculiar how humans have made å god who the people in power can control other people with. So I think we need to find another word for the everything end everyone spirit or mind who is in everything.

I was going to watch all of this video but after 2 minutes I realised that I don't need any convincing that we are consciousness and that when our physical body dies we go on living. It just occurred to me that (laughing) human beings or scientists trying to explain death and the afterlife in so called "rational terms" is completely laughable to me :)))
