- Here is the timelapse build of my third cafe racer project : a 1984 Yamaha FJ 600 (or XJ 600 in Europe)
I chose a more difficult motorcycle this time as the XJ 600 is known not to ben easiest one to transform.
If you want to support me you can get one of my original tshirt from my store : shop.spreadshi...

The best thing about this build is that the motorcycle remained as close as possible to the original and that's what I appreciated the most 🔥
Makes me so happy to see someone pouring love into a great old machine like this. Honestly really inspiring.
I like this build because of its basic simplicity in building it and it’s appearance. This proves the average individual can do quality work and do it on a budget.
Very nice outcome with minimal changes (compared to professional builds). I like those common Yamaha wheels. They were same wheels on my SRX6
The man at 13:43 straight up praised the lord for letting him witness this masterpiece :D
lmao!
well done dude!!! i am currently modifying an xj600 from 1984. it's been quite complicated, but your video gave me a lot of inspiration now. amazing work!!!
Looks stunning mate you’ve done a top class job. I’d be proud as punch if I had the finished bike.
Im not a fan of cafe racers, but its amazing how you bring that old yamaha back to life and turned it to something you love. Keep it up!
This looks great! I ride a `99 Xj600 and in one or two years I also want to make a cafe racer out of it..
I have a 94 and a 92 the 92 I put the rear suspension from a yzf600r thundercat on it the front is on my 94
i have the '99 yamaha xj 600 diversion seca 2 .
She is gorgeous! Wonderful job there! Ride safe bud.
Mega 🖤 my Respekt. (my First bike was a xy 650)
Y'kno I'm not even a motorcycle guy, I love american muscle cars. But I have the utmost respect for any person that has the mechanical skills to be able to take an old bike and turn it into something simple, clean, and original. I really admire that you're clearly just doing this in your apartment with what space and time you have. I've seen your other videos and the bikes you build are absolutely beautiful. Forget all the shiny bells and whistles. The bikes you're making are beautiful as just the raw engine on a frame that they are. Keep on keepin' on.
Loved the way the project was performed...not like dismantle everything and everything at single breathe...simultaneous and neat work...handles..headlamps...tank/carb...air filter...then finish tank..finally rear end...etc...
Great work...amazing mod...beautiful ride... 👍🏽
Admirable amigo.
Porsche , maseratti
Nice job, you have taken a vastly underrated bike and turned it into a thing of beauty well done. So many guys just go out and buy that look, most companies make something along those lines trying to catch the hipsters and sting them for a fortune, when they could get into something no one else has for less than half the cost of the new one. Hope the bike gives you years of pleasure.
The time and effort truly pays off... Amazing bike!
Best thing about this video was how the guy that built it rode it. You can tell he's enjoying the fruits of his labour. Beautiful machine and much respect bro
Very nice work!
When you placed your finger on the weld right after the rear end was welded kind of scared me xD
Great job there - I had an XJ600 back in the day great little bike
how in the world do you only have 28k subscribers. Guy testing rat traps has millions and you 28k, crazy. Great videos, keep it up.
Haha 28k already means a lot for me :) but thanks! :)
I wish I had a youtube play button though haha
Those OG wheels on the XJ600 are beautiful! nice build!
excelente trabajo, saludos desde mexico
That turn signal on the front just like cherry on top of a cake man.. Bracket with lamp and other just fit real well there.. I should try make some too on my daymaker. Yours still beat my racer tho :D glad to find your project. Thank you and please do enjoy your ride and ride safely.
I love your work man , you're amazing and the bikes you make are awesome
Great video mate, she looks awesome. a wee tip for you see you carb balancers get you self four wee adjustable inline screw valves and when the bike is running you can close them down to smooth the needles right out, it works a treat and you will get a far more accurate reading. Lovely bike though Sir.
That balancer set usually comes with the damping valves, or at least mine did.
Awesome job bringing a second lease of life to the old Yamaha, very clever I like it allot.
Lovely job, breathing new life into an old bike.Well done.
It’s very cool work, of course! but I have only one question, why have you paid so much attention to the tuning of the carburetors and the exhaust system, but you did not do the engine overhaul? regardless of its condition, cleaning channels, changing rubber bands and general diagnostics would significantly increase its lifetime and ride comfort. why not?
The engine has already been inspected not long before I bought the bike, I do have new set of cam cover gasket I plan to change, I will also re paint the cylinder and polish the covers. This was only the step 1 of the build ;)
@@TahitianRider many thanks for answer!
For me inspection of the engine is the most interesting and thrilling jobs of any repair of Moto or auto, so I asked for it.
If it possible, please show it in the next videos!
Anyone could have achieved an equally good lookin result by changing the tank and the wheels. You managed to pull it off by keeping the originals and that was your true success!
I doubt it at the beginning (was a nice looking bike), but at the end you did a great job!!, congrats!!
This is the greatest quality build I've ever seen. Keep it up! You inspired me to build my 110 bobber
damn this looks super expensive i'd love to build one of these someday with my own hands
great video bro!
Super expensive? He used all chinese crap that you can get from eBay/aliexpress/wish etc.
Excellent job and the bike was visually balanced. greetings from Argentina❤❤❤
awesome vid! where did you learn to do all these things? have you got mechanical background or self taught with the internet?
thanks man! no mechanical background at all, learnt evrything from the internet ;) I have been working on bikes or ATV for 10 years though ^^
@@TahitianRider yow men you got some serious talent putting that bike into life again nice work keep it up
@@TahitianRider which sources did you use for these informations?
@@TahitianRider quick question:
You seem to be french, dont you have there an anual or bianual mandatory inspection to pass?
I know thats the case in germany and spain, and its the reason why so many people never customize their vehicles...because if they do, they wont pass that inspection and the police will fine you and even take your bike
@@rronaldreagan Germany is really restrict on the mods you can do on your vehicle which is really dump... You can't even change the wheels of your car without having an authentication... I live in Greece, here you can do whatever you want as long as your bike has lights, turn signals and at least your left mirror
Nice job. I have a 1977 gs 750 cafe racer. I wrapped the exhaust with a similar wrap to yours, after 18 months the exhaust was like swiss cheese. The wrap holds water if you ride in the rain.
I really regret using it now
My god, so perfect.
Dood... you do great work. The rust in the tank and throughout the system blew my mind. Awesome, just awesome.
you are god of rebuild.
This is a very impressive build - especially instructive for those of us with few tools and no "garage" space. I went through a very similar issue; rust in the tank and crud in the carbs. Wow, that was a long time ago....
Merci :)
For around town traffic you can't beat a cafe racer, Sweet job!
One of the nicest cafe racers, well done
Excellent !!!! Love it!!!!!! What do you use to paint the tires?
thanks :) just some tire paint pencil
this build is really tasteful, good job

I really like the fact that you keep you original tank!!! Almost all cafe racer builds use these “old school” bad quality, skinny tanks.
I much rather like the “modern” twist you have it! Keep up we need more builds!!!!
Esta en venta? Porque esta hermoso :"v
This build right here is your best one on my list! Looks, Sound... just beautifull!!!
Beautifull and i respect the effort
This is one of the best cafe racer style builds that I've seen on RUclips . For some reason i love these old four cylinder bikes with separate carbs for each cylinder, and I'm dying to try something like this with a steampunk twist... best of luck in future builds
Good job dude! Would love to buy that beautiful vehicle from you if i had the money 😂😍
Le talent ?????? C'est ça ! Un grand BRAVO.
Amazing, keep up the good work!!
SO satisfying to watch. I wish I had the skills to do this.
Nelson Robiquet oui !
You made a nice clean looking bike Sir!!! Back when I stripped down my KZ 1300 to a racer, I removed the front (drivers) pegs and welded attachments to the frame and ran my shifter and foot brake to the rear pegs (as well as welding the pegs solid). That way even if someone ask, I couldn't carry a rider (passenger). Put on a 6 into 1 header, pulled the guts (baffles) out of it, removed the turn indicators and everything else I could. Only had a tach on the triple tree (Ain't got no time to look at a speedo!!!). I had the drive shaft and rear hub gears changed by a pro (I'm a country boy!, I don't know anything about such stuff), and she'd top out about 165-170 m.p.h. The reason I know this... That's what I was clocked at. Lost my license for a year, had to pay a crap ton of money to the state and was told if I was ever caught speeding again with in the state they'd revoke my license permanently. Glad I wasn't ever caught afterwards.
what the hack? what kind of garage is that?
it's the "no garage" garage haha
Garageception
Marselli Davide r u looking for garage over here..
Vadállat a gyerek,aki megcsinálta.RESPECT!❤
i like your bike, the style, effort. but sory to say, i dont like your rims XD
An incredible famous job! These timelapses dont show how much work is in it. Adoreable! Great stuff :)!
I watch on 0.25 speed
Awesome build and I couldn't help but laugh at the life support temporary fuel line and bottle to test the engine. That was a really smart idea to keep the project going 💪👍
one man army!! OMG
Nice build, I had an xj750 and xj900 similar shape shaft drives, maybe I should have kept, would have loved to have seen them like this!!!
track music 4:10 please tks
Joakimkraud-dream
You made a great job of it, really transformed the bike.
very nice build and that porsche in the background
Great job, you show a brilliant way to change the old motocycle to a great classic!
Thanks for memories. I had the XJ600 for years in the early 90s.
i love seeing old bike rebuilt..great job man
love the yamaha and your dedication shows so following your work and hope to learn more
Despite mods were minor the overall effect is amazing. I had FJ600 with plans to change it into CR but that didn't work out - thank to you I can see how amazing It might look.
Awesome work, the exhaust wrap and exhaust note are sick!
Oh man.. what u've done to the bike is something like Thor who save the universe! Awesome job man👍👍👍
Fantastic workmanship and a brilliant result, wonderful!
I find it relaxing watching time laps builds of motorcycles
i had one of these. a wonderful and very underrated bike. PS nice conversion !
I just wanna be your wrench fetcher and get to witness this artwork first hand...4 stars my friend!!!!
Thanks bro!!
One of the most amazing motorcycle transformations!!She looks very majestic!personally i would prefare the original paintjob on the tank but thos is personal opinion..take care!also i like the music!
I don't know why, but I live the tank on that bike; glad you were able to salvage it!
What a great sculpture job, a piece of art for real!!! Here in Greece, it is almost impossible even to find an engineer to regulate 4 cylinders carburators. This is why i stopped to ride theese bikes :(
Best modification ive seen in old XJ 600 good job dude
Nice Porsche 356 at the begging and nice work !
Excellent skill. Watched every second in awe. Magnificent work...
Ah ouais quand même ! Sacré taff avec si peu de place ! Comme quoi quand on a la motivation. Bravo !
Really nice looking bike. Good job.
Looks like the French Quarter.
Wow just wow, thinking of make a cafe racer of a Yamaha Virago 550 but damn it will be a long road
The cafe racing motorbike looks cool and beautiful
Such a cool build, and very tastefully done. Good job!
semua benda nak buat cafe racer.. motor asal dah lawa dah.. dah ada nilai estetik..
wow awesome build man! i think a daymaker headlamp would make an ellegant and modern touch to this build..
Well done buddy that looks 100 times better than a XJ you have done yourself proud fair play from a Brit biker
Awesome video! I've never not had to drill out the master cylinder screws. They're always rusted in and they always strip. FOUR different bikes I've had to do this to. Also, that is the biggest god damned air box I've ever seen. It's like gas tank sized.
The cross brace at the rear of the frame is a structural member that increases the rigidity of the frame, when you just cut it off you weaken the frame which may cause cracks at welds at other joints.
