This is why there should be buttons for all of this things. the Supra conductors penury makes BMW makes some cars WITHOUT the touchscreen function. Imagine having to do all that only with the selector wheel...
I would suggest not to get this option, and here is why. In other bmw massaging comfort seats (5, 6 and 7 series) the massage function include not just only 3 lumbar pads, but even hips and shoulders massage, it's way more complete and effective. I understand bmw included the bass shakers and speakers on the seats due to the b&w but the massaging seats is crucially compromised here, compared to the other bmw.
just ordered the car, full spec, but this option came up, deletion lumber support/width adjustment passenger side, there seems to be no answer as to why or what this means
+TonyTyson Hi Tony, thanks for the message. We'd advise you to get in touch with your local dealership as they would be best placed to help with your inquiry 😊
I’m from Europe and we just received our fully optioned iX xDrive 40 and we’re very much disappointed when we found out that the front passenger side did not have lumbar and width adjustment. On delivery day I called the dealer out on this, since they did not explicitly state that this would happen. He wasn’t able to provide an adequate answer and we were not compensated. After looking op other new in stock iX’s in the Netherlands, I found out that all of them came with the option 048Z (deletion lumbar support/width adjustment passenger side). It appears that not only the iX was affected by this option but also other models such as I thought the 3 series. It has been suggested that this deletion is due to the component shortage, but there is no official statement from BMW. Seeing other cars such as the 5 series and X5’s still come with proper spec is saddening, given that the iX was supposed to be the flagship for a while and should therefore be one of the premium cars. Another thing I noted was that active steering and air suspension were at first xDrive 50 exclusive. However, after two months or so when we ordered xDrive 40 it appeared that active steering and air suspension were actually an selectable option. Out of nowhere… It’s a great car and we enjoy it very much, but a bit more communication would have been nice.
@@kevinliu2 Hi! Thanks for the detailed explanation. Do you know if the xDrive40 still has the air suspension option as I can't see it anywhere? Perhaps it was redacted due to the chip shortage?

Shame most of this is being deleted for the passenger in 2022 onwards... 😕
