Timeslot does not work. I tried over 5 nights only to find charging had not taken place!! I have followed advice from BMW and it still does not work. I also found despite setting time slot, that it would start charging as soon as plug switched on. Having to set a departure time ; is it absolutely necessary? i just want a straightforward on and off charging without the bells and whistles. BMW need to review the charging management app.
Hi, have you managed to solve this issue? I am experiencing the same. The "charge immediately" option works but when I set a "time slot" it never works. I a having to wake up at midnight and again at 4.30 to benefit from the lower electricity costs. Not fun!
Sorry for late reply. I don't think BMW know either!! It would appear that there must be at least 15% battery power left in battery before time slot works. However one or two owners have suggested that the battery will charge immediately for about 15 mins and then go to time slot. I have tried three different garages and not one has an answer.@@curiousjoe395
"Charging in timeslot" does not work as expected and has a mind of its own. The time range changes every time I plug in the car. Also I cannot set just a time in slot range. I HAVE to also set a "time and weekday" option, which is confusing... Why do I have to set that if I only want a simple time range to charge? Whomever came up with this logic on their product side clearly does not understand the most common use case. Just look at all the complaints in the public forums on why this feature is broken!
Absolutely, I took delivery of my i4 two weeks ago and I can't get over how absurd the charge schedulling process is. Why on earth can`t we just set a start and end time for charging (up to the maximum set SOC of the battery)?. Regardless of the scheduling the car will start charging immediately, and if you stop it to prevent peak rate charges it won'r resume charging at the set time, nor stop charging at the end of the charging window... it's preposterous and totally useless.

Clearly, the car needs to be connected to the internet - presumably via a built in 4G modem - However, as I have no cellular connection at home, can I connect the car to my home wifi so it can communicate?
Completely rubbish software. I've got an electric BMW on hire, but I would NEVER buy one because I just want it to charge during my night time cheap period and never at any other time, even if this takes a number of night nights to get to a full battery. This stupid software won't do that. The ridiculous demand that I put in a "departure time" before it will activate timed charging is completely stupid. What if I have no intention of using the car on the next day? I still want it to charge during the night time cheap period.
What prevents you from setting the departure time even if you don’t plan on leaving? You can configure a schedule in the car so that it charges only at night, AFAICT.
Excellent demonstration!

Nope. Still broken and bmw doesn’t seem to care to fix this. It’s frustrating and ridiculous that they ignore the complaints.
Yep..mines the same. Frustrating
The charging target has been removed from latest versions, right? This video should be updated before sending such misleading info in a newsletter!
M240 =perfect
How to indicate, thats a hard one for BMW drivers.

no - as of possible vulnerability of WLANs BMW denied access to the car controller via others than mobile connections
Futured alien car
Too bad the app frequently loses connectivity with the vehicle for days at a time.
On iDrive 8?

Too bad BMW isn't a premium brand, it doesn't even have its own dedicated charger network
why should they? Partnering with existing networks makes more sense
