    Good stuff man, I like your videos. I have a solution for the door strut or door break bushing, will post it sometime. Strange how those bushings completely disintegrate into dust.

    I just bought a 2008 750li and I too have this issue in the same side door. Soft close doesn't engage at all. I can hear it trying to catch but it never does. All the others work fine. I was gonna settle and leave it as is but thanks to you , I'm gonna be repairing this myself . Easy fix

      @@gtarules1 I doubt it. This is clearly NOT the man in the videos' first rodeo. This would be disastrous for the average person. Lol.

    It would be amazing if someone made a 3d print file to replace the little plastic lever that you glued

    Hello, I have a similar issue but not the same, my softclose works every time, but I have to press a door lightly, like it needs just one mm more closed in order to activate the motor... Do you have any idea how it could be adjusted? Thanks!

    • @pulkitpaul8029
      @pulkitpaul8029 Год назад +1

      You could adjust the door catch (on the frame, sometimes referred to as a striker) if you loosen it and push it out closer to the door it will compensate for the extra 1mm needed to close. Good luck!

      @vatrica1 Год назад

      @@pulkitpaul8029 yeah that's the first thing that came to mind and it works, but the door sticks out then 😅

      The door can get misaligned and weight of it hanging causes sensor misalignment. The catch hoop mounted to car Fram on car body can become misaligned, that's 4 marks to show proper alignment, and just 2 torn screws to adjust it.The door itself can be adjusted by the hinges,to raise up and and align,you'll need a helper to lift it,while the bolts are loosened and tightend,and the door cam positions cylinder must be disengaged to get at door hinges,good luck

    how did you re-install the handle? you did not show it, it was very difficult to take out at the beginning.

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  5 лет назад +1

      its easy to put back. Just put handle in place and pull on the thin metal plate. I do have videos on this.

      Just did one today,don't need to remove outer door handle,you can just move the inside lock downward to take it out ,that pin can move 45° down.

    So i did this and it worked. But my door wont lock for some reason. The knob goes down but you can still open from outside ? Any ideas ??

    • @JeffGarnaas
      @JeffGarnaas 4 месяца назад +1

      Same happened to me.O think there's a broken piece inside the latch unit he's working on,I didn't that,just put a new motor unit in mine,hoping it would work ok,the motor activates,bit doesn't latch door,the know inside doesn't lock it dromvoutside.So will get a new latch unit and replace.Akso this was draining my battery,keeping the system awake always,due to the old motor being burnt out.

    • @mikes8207
      @mikes8207 4 месяца назад +1

      @@JeffGarnaas let me know how you make out with the new latch....and thanks for the reply

    • @JeffGarnaas
      @JeffGarnaas 4 месяца назад +1

      @mikes8207 I guess there is videos on taking out the two plastic cams inside the latch unit,they impair the latch locking,moving back and forth.The latch h itself is ok they said and a software update is supposed to be programmed to the cars ecu computer.I don't Ishta software to do that,but it's regarding deactivating the electric locking automatically. At least my door stays shut by slamming it,that's could ask for,when driving its not swinging open,and parking it keeps door secure.Ill delv into it more when time permits.

      @mikes8207 its all under a NHSTA recall in United states,bmw agreed to repair all door latches,free of charge,just schedule an awith ypur nearest bmw dealer,tell the receptionist it's under a federal open recall,g8ve your VIN number to the dealer,and set a time to bring it in.They.may keep it overnight,sl9ths can be sloths.But it is a.lot of work,remoeach.inner door double panel,removing theblatch units,rem9ve plastic cams from each latch and put it all back toge,and test door motors,to see I'd They work.Nothing should be charged to you at all,don't let them.And no extra service work! Don't fall for that.And make sure they reprogram the ecu computer,with the software update-now your golden free of charge!
