Where did the oil go. Check your amplifier and navigation computer it like to leak on them on the left side of the trunk

Great job. What about if the tailgate correctly goes up and down but doesn't stay up? I can open and close it but when opening it goes down after few seconds
Not enough oil or oil is very old and should be replaced

I sold the car 😅 this system is without springs. It has cylinders with oil pressure and yes one of the cylinders was leaking, I've noticed after a few weeks after this video.

Bmw 51247202868 that's the part nr for the fluid. You have to check if your car is hydraulic or electronic

I have this issue for years minute 7:15 where trunk attempts to open but not strong enough to prop open unless u give a lil push just like you did. I have replaced both shocks new and no reservoir leaks. I gave up until now, Could it be the trunk lid module?

You can not really flush the system. You can always refill the reservoir a few times till you have clean fluid
