I'm about halfway through and he still hasn't even started the brand Nike yet - I love how focused he is on the intricacies of the story rather than selling out like some memoirs do...
agreed, but i think its kinda important to tell the readers about how consistency is very important in business. He's selling Onitsuka shoes for 6-7 years untill one bad day happen, the rest is history.
I just finished reading the book about 45 minutes ago(Friday 12 July 2019)... I couldn't put it down. It is an amazing and very well thought-out and funny book. I don't regret buying it at all.
One of my all time favourite business memoirs ever. Such a humble and funny guy, that took pleasure in the small stuff, didn’t back down from challenges and filled his life with wonderful people.
Insane respect for what he's achieved and an incredibly humble man to boot. I would advise anyone with an interest in entrepreneuralism to give the book a spin. A model of good writing.
I enjoyed the book immensely. Love and admire this man. He deserves every penny. I think $10b is not enough. He deserves a lot more for what he went through. Going forward, I’m only wearing Nike to make this man richer 😀
It's an awesome book. I've a new found respect for this man and the brand. It's so eloquently written and highlights struggle, imperfection and failure in such a reassuring way. It's also inspired me to pronounce it properly. Everybody in the UK calls it Nike to rhyme with like!
Before reading the book 📕 and after reading the book, Nike print hits me hard.lifting my spirit, phill your story will motivate generations after generations.
I'm a little more than halfway through this book now. I found myself looking down at my Nike Metcons with pride knowing the story behind this company. Truly an inspirational read so far and I'm gonna be recommending it to anyone who will listen..
My brother told me about this book today. He played football 🏈 for the Ducks in a the early 90’s. Thank you Mr. Nike… for supporting Oregon, sharing your fortune with the Ducks and helping with Drazen…
Bought this book at an airport. By the time I was done with it, I was aching to do two things: 1) Buy a new pair of Nikes and 2) go for a six-mile jog.
I wouldn’t buy his book or any of his products, maybe he should have factories in North America, he’s never been to his own factories in Indonesia when Michael Moore interviewed him and offered a free 1st class plane ticket.
John Dickson such an easy thing to say, right? he should have factories in north america. i doubt he even has full control over the logistics like that anymore. he's already travelled the world, why would he himself need to travel to indonesia? there are workers in nike other than just phil knight. does he need to manually make each individual shoe to satisfy you?
You are making a very big mistake. You are are full of prejudice. He addresses every single problem you just mentioned in the book and many more. Trust me he is one of the nicest person you'll read about. I was also a nike hater before reading the book but now i hate no one. Life is too short for such kind of things.
This book felt like a fully fledged movie. The characters, the story, the ups, the downs and the best part is that it’s true. Unbelievably amazing!
Funny that you say that. I read that Netflix is going to release a movie based on it at some point.
absolutely thrilling
Antozent- they are selling around 250 self help ebooks for the price of one (including this one)
Shoe Dog one of my favourite books, who else read in 2020?

I'm glad I read it before 2020 ends, such a good read. I feel like I was reading a novel, and Jeff Johnson was definitely my "favorite character" 😅
he ripped off from Onitsuka.
Finished it yesterday, absolutely outstanding. All I want to do is buy some Nike's and I feel dirty in my Adidas copa's rn
I'm about halfway through and he still hasn't even started the brand Nike yet - I love how focused he is on the intricacies of the story rather than selling out like some memoirs do...
Absolute spot on - im around the middle part to and was thinking the same - its still blue ribbon 🤔
agreed, but i think its kinda important to tell the readers about how consistency is very important in business. He's selling Onitsuka shoes for 6-7 years untill one bad day happen, the rest is history.

I hate onitsuka
Borrow me 8.000$ and I'm gonna make them 1 million
I don't like nike

Nike may produce shoes in USA, if USA costumer are able to pay $1000.00 nike shoes. The labor hand in the USA is too expensive to produce shoes.
Yug Hang
