Osha misses on purpose you can actually see her pull teh shot up and left right before the trigger pull and then you see the blast go wide left above Mae in the next shot. No ambiguity, Osha isn't a bad shot, she couldn't just shoot the sister she just found. I also thought it was interesting that though we got that scene with Osha seeing Mae in a vision, she was under the impression she was dead. I assumed that it was Mae reaching out through the force. But then in this ep we see she has no idea that Osha is alive. Implication being that someone, probably mystery Sith is sent that vision as some sort of manipulation tactic. That or just an imperfect vision from Osha that was her out of practice force power sensing her sister for the first time. Like Yoda said "through the force, things you will, the future, the past, old friends, long gone." and that was in reference to Luke's visions of his friends in danger, which was also a manipulation to draw Luke to Cloud City. I feel like this Sith may be trying to draw the sisters together for some purpose. The show isn't perfect but I like most of that they are doing and the cast is cool; even Yord the fukboi with the overused killmonger hair. Hey guys!!!I dont understand some of the criticisms with this show. I am really enjoying it so far and intrigued with the mystery going on. I think we may be shocked when all the truths are laid out in front of us. For now, I love how the show is making me ask questions and think about what could really be going on. And what happened 16 years ago!!! Love you guys ❤
The criticism isn't actual criticism. 97% of it are dudes mad that the creator of the show is a woman and said things in the past they don't like along with not having enough white people in the show. It may sound absurd and like I'm making this up but that's just fact. If you're reading this and triggered by what I said then yes, you are probably one of those people. Master Sol is my favourite Jedi Master, to think the actor learned english for this role. Amazing acting. There is something about how this is shot and written that makes each character feel real. Did not recognize Dafne Keen as Jecki. Love her in this, she is nailing it. Can't wait for more of this show and more Star Wars in this Era.
Palpatine will definitely not be in this show, whether it's by mention or even a cameo. He hasn't even been born yet. If he had been, he'd be over 100 years old in The Phantom Menace.
Hector brought up something that I've noticed about Jedi. He said that she should tell them that she saw a vision. For a bunch of Jedi that see visions in the Force, they either don't know that Jedi have visions or they don't believe when someone says they had a vision. Every time. I mean Sol even taught a class with younglings willingly seeing visions.
for the last part to be fair there is a difference between closing your eyes and picturing something/something coming into your mind, and just seeing things with your eyes open that shouldn't be there.
Worth pointing out that although this is billed as being "set in the High Republic era," it takes place (approx.) equally close to "The Phantom Menace" as it does the High Republic publications to this point.
To your soundtrack remark, Ryan Arey at ScreenCrush pointed out that the Kylo REN theme has been used at least 3 times this series. That can’t be coincidence.
First off I want to thank you guys because I’ve been following your channel for a really long time and it’s very refreshing that you’re openness to the series and not ripping it apart like what social media has been doing. Yes, we are Star Wars fans and we have lots of opinions, but I don’t mind this series. In fact I’m waiting for more so thanks for being more open minded to this series. We really appreciate your opinions.
Great review and analysis. So far i like the show. I am impressed by the actor playing Master Sol. He is expressing such emotion while speaking a language that is foreign to him.
The CHARACTERS, the ACTING, the DIALOGUE, the classic TRANSITIONS, and the STORY are all such excellent elements of this series. I enjoy the costume designs for Olega as well; that setting FEELS like it has a distinct culture.
Me looking for Hector's reaction when Mae said "Barash Vow" and automatically realizing in the last video he said he hasn't read Phase II of The High Republic...
She doesn't have to talk about her vision of her sister in detail because she already told them that Mae is still alive and they are looking for her. Besides, the vision could be written off as trauma or a lie if Sol didn't believe her.
@HeroesReforged, 19:17 How did Palpatine know he could manipulate Anakin from such a young age? Palpatine successfully befriended Anakin while planting seeds of deception here and there, nudging Anakin towards the Dark Side without the Jedi's notice. How did he know one could escape death? In one of their last interactions as friends, Palpatine told Anakin about the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise, his former master--this story takes place 100 years before the rise of the Empire; Palpatine was 52 in TPM and 65 during RotS. This story could very well be Palpatine's master's story or Plagueis' master's story. Either way, the methods used to sway a powerful Jedi to the Dark Side of the Force was something passed down, and something we are likely seeing here. Why did Anakin have convincing Force Premonitions of his wife dying? Yoda tried telling Anakin that visions in the Force shouldn't be taken at face value, but to Anakin, what he saw was too real to ignore. The first episode showed Osha experiencing a flashback with her sister, but it wasn't just a flashback, as they were having a conversation in the present. This was a one-sided conversation that was very real to Osha, but one that wasn't had with Mae, as Mae still believed that Osha was dead. The Sith Lord pulling the strings has managed to keep "his" identity from Mae. "He" also managed to make the Jedi believe that Mae died, while also making Mae believe that Osha had died too. My guess is that this Sith Lord also gave Osha the Force connection that allowed her to speak with her sister in the flashback. The Jedi at this time are unable to feel manipulations in the Force like the Jedi during the prequels. I think we're seeing the trickery of the same person or the skills of that person at play here. Palpatine shouldn't be alive at this time period if the story is exactly one hundred years before the rise of the Empire as stated, but the person who taught him the skills he used to defeat the Jedi sure is. The Sith Lord we're seeing has small shoulders. I'm not so sure the lord is a he, if human. I think the lord in question is actually a woman. And I think we're hearing a manipulated voice like we heard with Leia when she was undercover as the bounty hunter Boushh. I don't know about you guys, but I hear Carrie Ann Moss' voice being distorted. I would love to be wrong, but every time I re-watch the first episode, I still hear her voice. Did she fake her own death, so that she could fully devote herself to the Dark Side?
I agree with Hector. The pacing has been direct and relentless, but still able to keep that mystery going. Also it's nice to watch something Jedi that's not within the orbit of the Empire or Skywalker storyline. Refreshing almost
So I have two theories. Either the Sith Lord we saw in episode 1 is just an apprentice and is basically trying to get Mae to become his apprentice to overthrow his own master and Qimir is the Sith master basically manipulating Mae in the process… OR that Sith Lord is the master looking for a new apprentice in Mae

Sets feel like Galaxies edge, these 2 episodes weren’t terrible but I want to see more of Coruscant and the Jedi Temple. After watching these episodes I rewatched some of the trailers the footage does look promising we’ll see
Come to realize that the Jedi are kinda dumb. She literally walked into a temple, and no one sensed her? Plus you have a giant open roof over this guy?
I think they did sense her. That's how they knew they were attacked in the first place. Although, given how easily Palpatine walked under their noses for decades, I'd say the Sith know how to hide from the Jedi.
@@legendswarble2845 1) she's not classified as Sith yet if at all 2) they didn't have a clue she was there until someone alerted the Jedi to seeing an intruder
Hector I know you know the name of the meditation technique Torbin is using, he’s been meditating for ten years. It’s named after a female Jedi with long white hair from the books. We see Torbin in the trailer, his eyes turn black when he was younger, you don’t shake the Sith off, what happened there? Torbin sensed she was alive, why is he waiting ten years to make things right with her, something there doesn’t make sense. The trader is trained, he knew the Sith edict, peace is a lie, he stoped May’s attack, he’s more than he appears to be. Where did he go, he had part in two Jedi being killed and walked 🤔, so much we don’t know, so much that doesn’t smell right and I’m here for all of it. Great video fellas, may the force serve you well.
Torbin's hair and beard ARE all fake. The actor playing the part was young King Tommen in Game of Thrones, we'll see how he actual looks in flashbacks going forward.
If you have a chance,.....watch the Osha and Qimir scene again. Pleases note he knows who she is, yet Mae thinks her sister dead. His whole demeanor is quite different also at that point...hmmm.
I agree with Adam, the hair and beard (the beard in particular) on Torbin look bad. Probably the worst part of either episode, for me. I was wondering (and maybe y’all could set me straight, given your shared CGI expertise) why they didn’t forego the beard, and let the scars/eye damage carry most of the aging load while maybe thickening up the actors jowls digitally or something else like that. You know how guys get thicker in the neck and throat as they age, usually? Do that kind of thing digitally with the actor, and let the scars/eye damage do the rest of the work aging him. I dunno. It wasn’t bad enough to take me out of the ep or anything, but it was definitely noticeable to me.
It saddens me to see ao much criticism of this show. The first and second trilogies had plot holes, inconsistencies and dumb choices made... people choose to forget that it is possible. A decade ago all the fanboys were crying about creative choices regarding the force, acting skills, dialogue etc... now all if that is sacred and everything else since 2010 is unworthy. Sometimes i despise this fandom. Bunch of toxi63 year olds
There a lot for people going in IF they even watch the show in the first place who have a hang up that Most of the cast is a a Straight white male and is so varied. I don't care as long as its a good story and so far so good.
@@calistoso8296 When they get out of the trash compactor, Luke and Han are completely dry and dressed in there normal clothes (back from the stormtrooper outfits), including their boots. So far, after 2 episodes, it's quite interesting. My favorite character currently is Master Sol. I think the world-building and crime-thriller aspect is most intriguing. Only time will tell how good or bad the show is.
I'm a pretty reasonable SW fan and go with the ebs and flows, but the writing and character choices make such little sense. These "jedi" clearly went through a mediocre training program.
something is telling me the jedi caused the fire and blamed Mae (she was supposed to be dead) Mae knew it was the jedi and the truth will have Osha turn to the dark side

Why not? They're still people, no? I've seen a lot of Jedi make sacrifice plays, which could be considered a form of suicide. Given that he thought it was a way to atone, it does make sense to me.
My main issue here is that the evil twin trope so rarely works, and is entirely dependent on the actor in question. Put it this way: this girl is no Tatiana Maslany. She can't pull it off.
Disagree on the actor not being able to pull it off, but even still that's not the core mystery or trope to this story... it's told to us in the FIRST episode. We've only scratched the surface on where this story might go.

Great video fellas, may the force serve you well.
calling it now Yord is evil and secretly apart of the sith
Torbin's hair and beard ARE all fake. The actor playing the part was young King Tommen in Game of Thrones, we'll see how he actual looks in flashbacks going forward.
Listen guys, what if Yord is the Master😮?
Who gets off of murder for being helpful?
You can stop guessing that Palpatine is The Master. Season 1 takes place 25 years before Palpatine is even born.
IF that actually is a Sith (we don't really know for sure yet) it could possibly be Plageus
My theory is the poisoner/gunrunner is actually the master, and Mae doesn't know it
I'm loving it. Great stuff, so far. I hope it keeps like this and ends strong.
Wookie shrek reference
If you have a chance,.....watch the Osha and Qimir scene again. Pleases note he knows who she is, yet Mae thinks her sister dead. His whole demeanor is quite different also at that point...hmmm.
I really like it so far. We'll see where things go from here
I agree with Adam, the hair and beard (the beard in particular) on Torbin look bad.
Guess Adam didn't watch dafne in His Dark Materials
At this point, y'all are very aware of what we do/don't watch 😅
@@HeroesReforged lol, yeah. But that's another where Dafne mostly does not just grunt and growl

Yeah, the overly negative criticisms are (largely) in bad faith, made by people trying to score points in a culture war.
There a lot for people going in IF they even watch the show in the first place who have a hang up that Most of the cast is a a Straight white male and is so varied. I don't care as long as its a good story and so far so good.
Please tell me some of the original trilogy plot holes
@@calistoso8296 When they get out of the trash compactor, Luke and Han are completely dry and dressed in there normal clothes (back from the stormtrooper outfits), including their boots. How is this possible? It seems unlikely they could wear their clothes under the stormtrooper outfits, but okay, maybe. But their boots? And everything is dry?
@@calistoso8296 How about Obi-Wan deducing it wasn't sand people who attacked the Jawas but stormtrooper because of how precise the blaster marks are. And in the rest of the trilogy they can't hit the broadside of a barn.
I wish I could enjoy the show but 'STAR WARS FANS'(I mean this in the most aggressively derogatory way possible)who are watching this show with their hand hovering over the cancel button have ruined a lot of the fun. I'm like, I'm enjoying this. Let me load up some Twitter or RUclips and see what people think and it's just the worst people pissing and s#!@$ themselves over their disingenuous complaints. It's truly a cesspool of ignorance and hate. With the exception of this channel of course.
But surely daggers are weapons ?
New sub!!I’m here for Hector🙌🏽🙌🏽 You’re awesome on the channel!! I look forward to watching your mates on here. Shout out from Europe
Thanks for subbing! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Haters, first they were mad at the fire in space, then mad at the overweight Jedi. They even mad cuz the sisters have the same hair style. Hey guys👋🏻.
So far, after 2 episodes, it's quite interesting.
My favorite character currently is Master Sol. I think the world-building and crime-thriller aspect is most intriguing.
Only time will tell how good or bad the show is.
Love your reactions!
Thank you!! 😁
I'm a pretty reasonable SW fan and go with the ebs and flows, but the writing and character choices make such little sense. These "jedi" clearly went through a mediocre training program.
something is telling me the jedi caused the fire and blamed Mae (she was supposed to be dead) Mae knew it was the jedi and the truth will have Osha turn to the dark side
yeah they thought she was dead so why not frame their mistakes on a dead child?
First two were bangers!
All hear is complaints from this reaction
Very Good show, great job 👍
How can you guys pretend that this is any good I am saddened what are you guys are trying to do
Who's pretending? Couldn't be us.
@@HeroesReforged I don't want to be you guys you guys are good if you like it like it then para los gusto's loa colores cada cual con los sullo nada que ver mala Mia yo cansele Disney Plus so you guys are good don't worry it's not your fault
Jedi takes the easy way out rather than go to trial and have the crimes exposed.
What the hell did they do that he felt dying was better then being tried publicly.
Oshi shoots like a stormtrooper lol
there are always 3 person. in sith discipline. master, apprentice and an acolyte. i think mae and oysho is the same person.
I don't care how bad they messed up... a Jedi is NOT committing suicide.
What makes you so sure?
If a Jedi can murder younglings and turn to the dark side, I think anything is possible. An ideal Jedi is not every jedi
Why not? They're still people, no? I've seen a lot of Jedi make sacrifice plays, which could be considered a form of suicide. Given that he thought it was a way to atone, it does make sense to me.
@@legendswarble2845 Sacrifice for other people... not flat out suicide....
@@atari1994 I think Torbin was sacrificing himself for others. For Mae and her peace specifically.
Nicki Minaj in Star Wars for the win!
2 minutes ago?! I'm so early!!
Show seems a little stale and boring so far but I’m hoping it gets better 🙏🏽
Just waited until you watch ep3 - these are the "good" episodes.
@@andrewprice8940 the horror.
Rip Star Wars
@@_ripVanWinkle_o no really?
Yikes it’s gonna be bad then 😫
My main issue here is that the evil twin trope so rarely works, and is entirely dependent on the actor in question. Put it this way: this girl is no Tatiana Maslany. She can't pull it off.
Disagree on the actor not being able to pull it off, but even still that's not the core mystery or trope to this story... it's told to us in the FIRST episode. We've only scratched the surface on where this story might go.
I disagree. I think Amandla Stenburg I'd doing really well. She even sold the awkwardness of Osha pretending to be Mae.
