So, they are getting specs from the PR dept, not from the website where it might only have "enter email for info;' ... so not very prepared for watching, are you?
GV70 all day for me, just a much more thought out and well designed car, with a genuinely interesting and lovely interior. I disagree on the infotainment part going in favour of the Lexus; when it's cold as hell in Canada the last thing you want it to wait for your UX to load before you can interact with climate controls. The Lexus, Tesla and even the new Golf are culprits in this stupid design decision.
Glad to see the trims were so close. I'll take the Gv70 any day even if the new NX is much improved. I've driven the prior version and it was so meh. Genesis is just killing it these days!
Drove both. Really love the the ultrasonic blue and black and edgy look of the NX but Genesis has the smoother ride, the nicer interior, and slightly cheaper lease deal. Other than realizability, talk me out of going with a GV70. Going for one in a week.
I dumped my 2023 NX350 F after a year. Lots of good stuff tech wise, but it was noisy, woefully underpowered, cramped, and not much fun to drive. I’m not completely sold on the GV but if i did get one I’d do the 2.5. Has enough power and just more enjoyable than the NX from the test i did. The 3.5 was too “brutish”. So what did i get to replace? A 2023 Audi SQ5. Smooth, comfortable, sufficiently quiet when you want that and batshit quick and tight when you prefer it. I don’t care that a Macan S would beat it in a drag race or on a track. I’m talking real world drivability.
My wife just got the NX and it's a great car but I wish 25%-ish of the 14-inch screen could show something else like the radio stations or weather like the GV70.
You don't address the elephant in the room. Build quality and reliability. Genesis/Hyundai are not known for rock solid reliability whereas Lexus/Toyota are known for solid and dependable cars. The dealership experience is also a big win for Lexus over Genesis as the dealer network for Genesis is not widespread or known for quality/timely service.
The GV70 is for people that change cars after 5 to 7 years, but the Lexus is for people that want to use their car as long as possible without any hassle.
Well, a confession. After decades of car ownership, I finally did the one thing I thought I would never do….I bought a new car on impulse. The reliability of Toyota took me to the Lexus dealer last month and voila, a beautiful gray NX F Sport was sitting there. I really would have preferred to get a Genesis and really should have kept my Audi Q5 for another year or two…but I did not. What I do like is the technology; it does handle pretty well and the sport seats are pretty good. What I dislike is how the engine and transmission are not really meshed well. It should be a much faster car. It is not and it has a loud engine. It sounds like it should be quick, but nope. I also do not like the run flat tires as they add to road noise. The front wheel bias makes the steering heavy and there is a wobble in the wheel with aggressive driving. One more thing: if you plan to tow a trailer do NOT get the F Sport. The car has been out for one year and Lexus nor any third party makes a hitch for it. You will have find out if your bungee cords will work. To me this was a bait and switch since the Monroney says you can tow…except you can’t
I'm so impressed with Genesis lineup. I'm wondering, that after a long run, let say 100000 miles, who will be performing better than the other. Who has a more reliable engine ?? All these questions, if someone can answer me. Thank you.
Nobody can give you a definitive answer on that since the whole brand is only 6 years old. But assuming engine is part of the powertrain, you got 10 years 100K miles warranty. Another thing impressed me is that they beat everyone on safety, everything they got have been IIHS top pick+ without exception, nobody else can say that. I just wish is they bring the new wagon to US, or a stickshift AWD sedan/hatch if they ever make one
Besides 10 years power train warranty, you can get a wrap warranty for 10 years, which includes everything on your car(AC, Electrics, ever my single part) - just not clutch for 10 years. They know what they made and what they’re doing for the feature. Believe or not, the car industry is changing. Koreans are beating most Japanes now, all Americans and even now Genesis is beating some Germans. Soon you will hear from Chinese cars! No surprise
@@sahmadi6659 They’re no where near beating any of the Germans nor Japanese in sales. Period. Not even any time soon. Toyota in general crushes the Korean sales market time and time again lol. Genesis parted way from Hyundai, GV70 is impressive with very minimal use of plastic material in cabin area. @@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 yes that's true, but you initially said that they said that the NX's interior quality is better than the GV70's. I don't believe they said that
Disappointed in the look of the Lexus interior. The GV70 has a very luxurious interior. The only thing that doesn't quite work is the pop-up look to the infotainment screen. At this point, just integrate the two screens, driver display and console infotainment to give it a cohesive, flowing look. Otherwise, it's so luxurious and special looking. The Lexus looks, sorry, like a better Toyota and the display is too glossy and plasticy looking. The Lexus is probably better built and will be more reliable over the years but the GV70 looks like the much nicer car. That the GV70 is quieter and more comfortable adds to its appeal.
I kind of like the fact that the screen is on top of the dash, and is in landscape position, like widescreen... I don like how screens are positioned like a tablet, thats long top to bottom... They will start being like the new Audis, and Mercedes where the entire dash is just screens.
The screen is what actually converted me - I love the "ultra wide" look to the screen and the brightness/resolution of that screen is phenomenal! The back-up cameras are HD and dramatically better than the Lexus cameras/screen. The NAV looks way better - I'm a bit of a videophile so the screen sold me!

Wait... you drove the F-Sport variant of the NX and complained about the seats, ride and road noise? You know that F-Sport is the sporty version with sporty seats, harsher ride, and noisier engine, right?
What harsher ride? Car at this level should have adaptive suspension setup when it has a sport badge which should be more comfortable than non sport trim. For example, my M suspension on my BMW Z4 is more bouncy than non sport variant when I wanted it to be, and stiffer when i wanted it to be!

@@Motor1 Thank you for taking the time to reply! I've subscribed to your channel. There was snow on the ground here in Canada, so I couldn't test out the lane centering as it would perform on a summer road trip!
The biggest difference for me is the blind spot monitoring CAMERAS rather than just the light on the mirrors. When you signal, you see the full view of that side of the car on the digital dash. Something that Hyundais and Kias have as well but it's a fantastic feature!
Lexus design is take it or leave it. I think most people that drive the NX care about the interior more than the exterior. Because they’ll spend most of their time inside. The exterior is for shock factor. Genesis design is very European inspired. They care about the exterior as much as the interior. The GV70 is giving Scandinavian design in the interior, while the exterior has hints of German, French, and Italian. Their design is Volvo if their designers went to Italy taking inspiration from Maserati.
Don't agree on the tech - the screen on the GV70 is WAY higher res and brighter than the Lexus. I don't have a single USB-C cable that needs a USB-C port...just on the device end - the others are all USB-A to me, so not sure what USB-C buys anybody, honestly. I still find the Lexus feels older and "safer". I ordered a Genesis. The Lexus screen is 14" INCLUDING the climate controls. The GV70 is 14.5" with a separate climate control screen. The backup cameras on the GV70 is far, far better than the Lexus. This was the main reason I DIDN'T buy the Lexus.

Thank you for this great review. Also, you guys declared Genesis Winner, and you guys doesn't included the Warranty. Including the warranty and service, Genesis could bully the Lexus.
Doing another round of test drives and I was surprised how much I disliked the Lexus NX 350 luxury edition. Ride quality and noise were very bad in the Lexus. I think the Telluride might have even been better in that category. There was a lot of plastic and piano black plastic in the Lexus. And it took me many, many tries to open the door properly, put the car in drive and then later in park...it's actually pretty dangerous.
I've been looking at both of them and they are extremely close on that basis as well. Both are fine for leg room - not quite as roomy as the Lexus RX but good enough. The advantage the Genesis has with the 2.5T Prestige or 3.5T Sport package is that it has rear climate control knobs and a full-size 3-prong electrical plug - so with the right trim, the Genesis has a big advantage there too.
Agreed - the Genesis has a real spare and 5 years of NAV updates - and ALL maintenance included with pick-up service from your home (at least in Canada)!

@Max Bloodnovski It's a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. It's okay.
@Max Bloodnovski They usually are doing reviews well in advance of the car being released, and often the press cars are not even what customers will get. So, they are getting specs from the PR dept, not from the website where it might only have "enter email for info;' ... so not very prepared for watching, are you?
Coz it’s a bias review lol….
Fantastic video. Exactly what I was looking for.
Glad to hear it! Tell your friends.
Genesis hands down
Lexus All the way fire
GV70 all day for me, just a much more thought out and well designed car, with a genuinely interesting and lovely interior. I disagree on the infotainment part going in favour of the Lexus; when it's cold as hell in Canada the last thing you want it to wait for your UX to load before you can interact with climate controls. The Lexus, Tesla and even the new Golf are culprits in this stupid design decision.
Love the GV70 just Love its style!!Beautiful Car!
I prefer the styling of the NX
I’ll take the gv70 or xc60 I love the minimalist look
In Canada, the Lexus is dramatically more expensive when equipped similarly.
Thats called quality
GV70 just stands out in terms of design. Lexus on the other hand is good old reliable but it looks like soccer van.
Either one for me!
Glad to see the trims were so close. I'll take the Gv70 any day even if the new NX is much improved. I've driven the prior version and it was so meh. Genesis is just killing it these days!
@@naveenthemachine I don’t know if genesis will kill Lexus but I’m sure it will easily kill Infiniti and maybe Acura
Naveenthemachine drives a Camry and has Lexus envy.
Drove both. Really love the the ultrasonic blue and black and edgy look of the NX but Genesis has the smoother ride, the nicer interior, and slightly cheaper lease deal. Other than realizability, talk me out of going with a GV70. Going for one in a week.
The GV70 is a handsome looking SUV
I would pick Lexus, they know how to maintain good, durable, reliable vehicles.
I will love to buy a gv70 sport prestige red on red unfortunately I can't find one in my area especially at msrp.
Lexus NX ❤
🥱
My wife just got the NX and it's a great car but I wish 25%-ish of the 14-inch screen could show something else like the radio stations or weather like the GV70.
Great video with very helpful information! I’m debating between these 2 cars and you guys really helped me with the decision!
I would take the Genesis in a heartbeat!
I agree as I bought the 2.5T Prestige
I got the Genesis GV70 2.5 Sport package last week.
Very satisfied. massage seat fantastic 😊
@@Generallee85 😌👍
The GV70 is for people that change cars after 5 to 7 years, but the Lexus is for people that want to use their car as long as possible without any hassle.
Not really. I drive 2013 Hyundai Genesis. I bought it new and have been driving it daily without any major issue. It still feels new.
Thank you.
U already know it.
@이현승 i expected some explanation..
This isn’t to take away from their vehicles but please don’t base your comments without facts. Car sales is what truly matters in this industry.
I'd thought I'd never want a purple car. Seriously my only problem with the genesis is which version do I want. I'm between the white and purp.
Me neither - I ordered the "Barossa Burgundy" though. I had too many white cars so I wanted something that looked different than anything else on the road!
You can get the Barosa Burgundy with the Vanilla Beige or Velvet Burgundy interior. You can also get the white exterior with the Velvet Burgundy interior
Shouldn't deprecation be part of your value calculation as well?
It should. Toyota will win due to reliability.
If genesis offered a hybrid option it would be a no-brainer, but the nx hyrbid options are too good to pass up… 40mpg?? Cmon..
Great video guys......😀
Genesis parted way from Hyundai, GV70 is impressive with very minimal use of plastic material in cabin area. Lexus has value but using cheap plastic material on dashboards, too many buttons and busy interior. Lexus is most stolen car of the year in Toronto :). GV70 will raise the bar in luxury SUV segment this year.
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 they didn't say it's better than the gv70. They said the gv70 has better materials than the NX
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 they still didn't say it's better quality. Can you give me a timestamp?
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 yes that's true, but you initially said that they said that the NX's interior quality is better than the GV70's. I don't believe they said that
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 yes but they still said that the materials are better in the gv70
Thieves don’t steal garbage…Nobody isn’t wasting their time looking to steal a Genesis.
Reliability is omitted? I think Lexus would win.
Did I miss the resale value, customer service, and reliability part? Lexus, all the way. But, nice try. LMAO!
Reliability + Resale value $$ all day for me LEXUS
Lexus design unique and beautiful.
We just picked up the GV70....everyday I examine that discussion...I chose wisely
The lexus front looks better than the GV70
The engine drops into the bay in a crash and there is a mid airbag curtain for the Genisis. I am surprised they didn't mention this
Disappointed in the look of the Lexus interior.
I drove both and went with the GV70
lexus it is for me.
Not even close. I own the 2022 450h+ F sport..In Atomic Silver Glows in the Sun Light with Lil" grey metal flake" and same Circut Red interior.. but with Electric battery...Has 306 Horse power 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec (Via Road and track at drag strip!.) This model DOES- NOT have a TURBO...But rather, a Naturally aspirated / Carb...........(important because it is well known that TURBOS stress engines)...simply said: see euro cars shop time!....this car combines the Elec Batt and engine to achieve *89 miles per Gallon in Hybred mode with HIGH torq, And VERY quick out of the hole...Jus' blew the doors off a 735i beemer...albeit for only a block ...( I am no dummy a V* will eventually pass many cars in the long dist. My car has Red Calipers against Powder coated Gloss spoke Black mags and All red "F" Sport Badges........
FAR better built than euro's (mine built in Japan) sadly, new releases are now being made in Canada! Like USA Union shops...no one gets fired for a hang over and bad work??? maybe)..... However, Lexus is Far more reliable...Far better Re-Sale that Euro beemers or mercedes.......indeed mine has Gone UP in price...Not many cars you can find Like that!... And are un- reliable offering to say nothing of the GAS HOG unproven G 70, & RDX not worth mentioning. Z Best of the BEST F Sport 450h+ !
Gv70 is elegant and nx fsport is more sporty
Wait... you drove the F-Sport variant of the NX and complained about the seats, ride and road noise? You know that F-Sport is the sporty version with sporty seats, harsher ride, and noisier engine, right?
What harsher ride? Car at this level should have adaptive suspension setup when it has a sport badge which should be more comfortable than non sport trim. For example, my M suspension on my BMW Z4 is more bouncy than non sport variant when I wanted it to be, and stiffer when i wanted it to be!
Lexus looking dated compared to the Genny
Looks cooler than genny
We'll just have to see how reliable these new Toyota and Lexus engines are versus the V6 they had. That was very reliable. The V6 in a Lexus
Lexus NX all the way 🔥 💜 💜 💚
GV70 all day
The Lexus interior looks dated and reminds me too much of Cheap Toyotas.
That’s because it’s a cheap Toyota masquerading as a more expensive vehicle
You gotta drive one. The photos and videos don't do the NX justice at all. It's an awesome car.
@@adriennetuck9340 you can say the same for the gv70
@@drivescene6747 It's not masquerading as a more expensive vehicle because the NX 350 has a unique powertrain
Lexus overstyles their cars. Way too many unnecessary cuts and angles
Lol…. One will last, offer excellent customer service and hold an excellent resale value. The other will not last, have a plummeting resale value and offer horrible service at an over-crowded Hyundai dealership. Lol. I know…. cuz I tried that Koolaid!
Is the Lexus Safety System 3.0 as good as the Genesis lane centering, HDA II, and lane change assist? Not seeing any LSS 3.0 reviews online.
They're very comparable. The Lexus is a bit more hyperactive with its interventions than the Genesis.
@@Motor1 Thank you for taking the time to reply! I've subscribed to your channel. It sounds like LSS 3.0+ and GV70 both have better lane centering than many others options (I prefer to drive less luxurious cars, alas).
Lexus NX for me
GV70の方がかっこいいけど、10年乗ることを考えたらNXを選ぶ。
GV70は2年で銅像になる....
But gv is so ugly car...beaidw that hope you enjoy it😀
It's like luxury vs sporty.
the gv70 looks stunning compare to NX or even the RX
Maybe, if we look into torque numbers (and not just HP), we would not have to wonder why 2.5T feels more agile?
My issue is that Lexus shares so much with Toyota products, where as Genesis shares little to none with Kia and Hyundai
You sure about that? I swear if you compared GV70 vs Santa fe. You'll see almost the same thing.
@@naveenthemachine oh ok. I understand what you mean now. Thank you
@@naveenthemachine Even smaller then the Rav 4.......😞
@@naveenthemachine and this said ,the prices for repairs will be very expensive...and still the nx is more comfortable, better built and more riliable car...😎only in my opinion .
Thank you for this great review. Also, you guys declared Genesis Winner, and you guys doesn't included the Warranty. Including the warranty and service, Genesis could bully the Lexus.
let’s throw reliability in there as well… conversation over, lexus miles ahead
Why are you comparing F-sport model VS GV70 base model?????
Doing another round of test drives and I was surprised how much I disliked the Lexus NX 350 luxury edition. Ride quality and noise were very bad in the Lexus. I think the Telluride might have even been better in that category. There was a lot of plastic and piano black plastic in the Lexus. And it took me many, many tries to open the door properly, put the car in drive and then later in park...it's actually pretty dangerous.
Genesis needs a hybrid version.
They introduced all EV version which is incredibly insane car!
@@sahmadi6659 The company is on fire. I can’t wait to see it in production.
@@sahmadi6659 Don’t forget it also looks like a Fischer Price version LOL.
Great video but I couldn't find what I was looking for: A rear seat comparison. Did I miss it or was this not compared?
I've been looking at both of them and they are extremely close on that basis as well. Both are fine for leg room - not quite as roomy as the Lexus RX but good enough. The advantage the Genesis has with the 2.5T Prestige or 3.5T Sport package is that it has rear climate control knobs and a full-size 3-prong electrical plug - so with the right trim, the Genesis has a big advantage there too.
Performance 10:41
Really want the GV70...gorgi
I just bought the black on black GV70 3.5 TT Sports Prestige with all the upgrades $69,500.00 and it feels like I am in a $100,000 vehicle...
GV70 for sure~~~
Lexus for the look and reliability.
Younger Generation: Genesis GV70, Older Generation: Lexus NX
Why genesis put the screen so far from the driver
I heard the red line is a famous mountain silhouette in Korea, not a weird line made at random!
It's only on a couple of trims too - the 2.5T Prestige has more of a random shapes pattern, not the red line. The 3.5T has carbon fibre.
Paid for by Genisis.
...and looks better!
The GV70 is the better driver, but the NX is going to be the more reliable choice.
Would never consider to buy a Genesis over Lexus, especially if they are similarly equipped and priced.
When I found out that Lexus has run flats on the NX It fell off my shopping list plus it requires a subscription after 3 years for the nav.
Agreed - the Genesis has a real spare and 5 years of NAV updates - and ALL maintenance included with pick-up service from your home (at least in Canada)!
The guy in black shirt should only be on radio
Clear, biased review for the Genesis GV70!
@ 5:37 - 5:41:
Where does the Genesis GV70 have *"soft touch everywhere including down low where you're never going to rest your hands,"* when touch point areas like the door armrests & center console clearly have affixed ornate wood/metal trim inlays?
