It’s a competitive time in the luxury crossover market, and that ferocity has only grown hotter since the arrival of Genesis’ aggressive new lineup. Challenging stalwart nameplates like the Lexus RX 350, the Genesis GV70 has proven a particularly compelling product that goes heavier on feature content than its competitors go on price.
We're testing the 2023 Lexus RX 350h Executive and the 2023 Genesis GV70 3.5T AWD Sport Plus. Stickering from respective inclusive MSRPs of $75,650 and $77,500, shoppers should expect a lot from these SUVS - and indeed, both certainly deliver.

you are comparing 2 cars that are not in the same category.
GV70 must be compared to Lexus NX
GV80 is in the category of Lexus RX
so this comparison does not make sense
You nailed it 100%, bad comparison
These guys are 🤡🤡
why not? they are in the same price range and both have their own pros and cons
Well, based on that you can compare it to a sedan that is in the same price category. I was saying that based on its size category it must be compared to GV80
apples to apples if you know what I mean :)
Very biased review against the Gv70
You placed the data card for the Genesis next to the Lexus. Also, this isn’t the right Lexus model to compare to this Genesis. You should be putting the 500h up for comparison. The horsepower would be a lot closer. Almost equal.
You could just tell from the cheap plastic finishes in the interior that Lexus is just not a luxury car at all. It's also not as fun to drive the Lexus as it is with the GV70 3.5TT. This clearly was no competition unless you want a boring car and not know much about cars in general.
Yes you are correct. No comparison on a money pit gv70. Lexus quality overall is better. Gv70 interior might look great but its engine are cheap as tne cheapest plastics out there they hide cheap things well. It failed as fast as torque and hp. Its sunroof explodes, its softwares are quirky. Its collision system not working. Dont be decieved by hot it looks. Scam works that way😂
You clearly haven't been in a Genesis nor a Lexus, I would go for the Genesis Gv70 all day it's no bueno
@@moktafizaman9077 hahaha…os that for me? I own lexus rx. Cross shop gv70 and know people who had buyers remorse buying gv70. You clearly dont own one
I don't need to own one to feel the next level opulence someone gets in the Genesis GV70, and sucks to be you, sir, but I own a Genesis GV80 3.5T signature prestige, so where your cheap RX at? 😂😂😂😂
@@moktafizaman9077 hahaha! Enjoy the opulence of one of the worst dealership/aftersales experience kias and hyundai is known for. Enjoy you gonna need patience on your frequent visits to them😂. Enjoy the transmission issues. Brake issues and glitchy electronics. Recently a gv80 stop at the middle of the road for fuel pump issue. It took 9days for the dealership to identify the problem and now still waiting for the car😂😂😂😂
Those capacitive touch button on the steering wheel are a complete dealbreaker. The concept is great but the execution is awful - it makes it DANGEROUS to operate. Also, completely unnecessary to have the door handles electronic - don't fix what ain't broke. Genesis has the better interior and exterior and a slightly sporty ride (I test drove one). Haven't test driven the new Lexus yet...so will give it a try, but I know some key features of the RX will turn me off.. My Maxima CVT is not great and no real desire to purchase another CVT in the Lexus...
Lexus cvt is light years better than a nissan. No comparison.
Gv70 interior might look better and its engine is zippier but it need it. They need to be fast to the service station. Its transmission is problematic. Sunrrof exploding, Long list of issues in nhtsa.gov website.
Electronic door is intuitive You push the button in the direction of the door opening rather than a 2 steps opening: pulling against the door direction then push with the arm. The elecronic door opener is also safer i dont understand the hate. If people dont like safe cars why not suggest to remove seat builts. There no use of it right?
@@badongtagalog5737 You know Toyota/Lexus recalled >12 MILLION vehicles (2007~2011) for faulty accelerators, right? People died as a result of these faulty pedals... So yeah, don't be putting Lexus on such a high horse..
If the Lexus is involved in a crash and power is cut off to the doors, it means the doors won't work as intended, where a regular mechanical door would still operate. Someone from the OUTSIDE would have issues opening this new Lexus door. How is this a difficult concept for you to grasp? You're not very good at this..
@@alexandergoldman lexus/toyota is always #1 in reliability for so long. Thats all I need to know. If you can show me toyota behind genesis please do. Hyundai/kia announced not to park your car in your garage...it cause fire. Thats a shame. Their car is easy to steal Im not sure what makes it something to pbe proud of?
Like many cars lexus has manual access. It still has mechanical linkage if you need to. At least its difficult to open rather easy to steal like kias and hyundais 🤣. So dont be proud of mechanical doors on kia it fails too. its a shame mechanical is simple yet still failed. I dont know if you are just a slowlearner, dont want progress or what but if you are, please have you seatbelt removed from you car it can cause harm for you🤣
WTF?
What is a nonsense review.
Genesis also offer voice commands. But, It hasn't wiper on/off command. Why?
It has rain sensing wiper(automatic). So, Useless command.
And luxury buyers don't care about mpg. They care luxurious/trend/feeling.
Maybe you are right. Some non so smart luxury car buyers just buy money pit cars. Rough riding good driving cars which makes your butt sore in a long drive
That’s easy. Ones a real luxury car which is the genesis
The other is just a reskinned rav4.
Go with the genesis day in day out. If you have to have reliability buy a Camry or corolla instead
Ah and that gv70 is a reskinned hyundai money pit car. You are right if you just want reliability buy camry. If you want reliability and luxury buy lexus.
Genesis exists for 10 years, hasn't proven anything yet. Lexus on the other hand is proven to be the most reliable luxury car you can buy for that money. Lexus all day
Meh...nice try at an unbiased review.. Didn't pan out that way...felt very bias in favor of the Lexus. That, or you don't really know what you're talking about...
Well Graeme Fletcher knows what he’s talking about. He’s been an automotive journalist for decades and his points were spot on. CVTs destroy the fun but they’re economical.
Excellent review. You summarized the major differences quite well.
What's with the freak and colorful painted finger nails 😂. This bloke should do video reviews on hair and nail products. Damn 😂
Be nice!
I have a right to my opinion. Frankly it's a total turn off. There's too much wokeness crap going around. Too much acceptance of anything. You are reviewing cars. Frankly it's a guy thing. Please put real men doing the videos. Not one with freaky hair and painted fingernails. That's my story and sticking to it!
@@TheToto4562 That's right...period
I think the only issue with GV70 is the screen!!!
Nonsense.
🤮 not watching this thing
Better not. And please dont browse gv70 issues. It will turn you off. Theres a long list of problems. Keep your eyes closed you are soon be get scammed
Genesis GV70 compete with lexus nx BMW X4 volvo XC60 Benz GLC Audi Q5
Lexus RX compete with Genesis GV80 Audi Q8 BMW X5 Benz GLE
Genesis GV70 not compete Lexus RX
Genesis is better. Only comp it has is the Mercedes
GV70 and NX are "comparable" not the RX, and the GV70 is far superior. So say numerous international best vehicle and design awards, as judged by industry professionals.
Those are not in the same class but I'd still take GV70 over RX.
Lexus is stale TBH
😳 😳
Wrong comparison guys...get real and do a fair comparison please.
What was that?
Its called a freak
oh god
GV70 Sport Plus is not built in Alabama 😊
Wtf we don’t want to see this bleed into car reviews
Mr. Fletcher looking good 👍
bad review gv 70 won so many awards
🍪
Lexus all day
Guys cut it with the hate. This was a nice video keep up the great work!!
Shaddap.
