Leesons learned from 25 years of bowhunting the prairies. If a vehicle can be seen/heard driving by, deer will stop EVERYTHING until its long gone. If you bump a buck, it’ll run like hell and won’t stop until it’s cleared the section. Putting distance between it and you (as fast as possible) is a means of survival. If a deer cuts your ground scent, it’s gone and ain’t coming back. The only good trees to hang up in are as crooked as my drunk uncle. Humans on tractors? No problem. Humans on foot? Red alert, even if they’re hundreds of yards away (I always glass by foot and not from a vehicle). As huge a challenge as prairie bow bucks are, the rewards are even bigger. Tagging out with archery gear is a massive accomplishment on the flatlands. Well done.

Learned alot over the past few years from you guys. I primarily only hunt public ground, and now only spend time hunting for the mature deer. The most important thing I have taken from your videos is that the attitude to have is that you never lose. You either win or you learn. Thanks, stay safe, and best of luck in the 2019 season!
I spent a week in SD in Feb and it never got above -10-15 deg. I would LOVE to see you do a Jan hunt up there. They have plugs for engine block warmers in parking spots and put winter "emergency packages" in the trunks of their cars, lol.

I cant say enough good things about you guys! absolutely love the show! Your channel was my guide for my Trukey season this past spring! Love the Deer Tour!!! Im headed out in 8 days for a 10 day public land solo hunt. This will be my first time recording a hunt. Im handicapped so public lands present more of a challenge to get around! Keep it up fellas!!!

Resident North Dakotan here... “fun” is probably not the adjective I’d have chosen for a December or January archery hunt up here... a little too cold for me... 😂
Paul Helms I’m from Nebraska, but was thinking the same thing when they said that. They must not have spent anytime in the plain states during the winter. No trees to slow the wind down.

Proof that even the best hunters can’t always be successful! No doubt you’ll get a wall hanger this year Aaron!! I appreciate the knowledge and experience you bring to the THP viewers! I’d be interested in a future episode sharing how you all learned everything you know about hunting etc.. I’ve seen some of you on other shows before from a few years ago. I’m curious if being on those shows taught you a lot or if it was mainly just trial and error over a lifetime of hunting.

Were those elk on the refuge or up in the hills? Took awhile to figure out what town that was but the water tower was the dead give away. Shocked you saw mules over there that's definitely as far east as you're going to find them.

Hey guys been watching for awhile I love the channel, I turn 20 in october and I love hunting but wish I had more friends that hunted so I could enjoy more Memories, if you're ever in wisconsin hmu I'll drive anywhere I know the state really well .

My take away on a hunt like this would be to stay aggressive. And when a buck knows you’re there - move on to the next if you’re willing to go find another. If you have the gift of time I understand you can make the small moves that will eventually put you in the right spot - but not THP style and timeline. As always - excellent job. Nothing better than real tactics for real people hunting public land. And a big thanks for keeping it fun and clean. My kids watch this with me and I’ve never worried about having to screen anything. Keep it up -

S Walker rut hunting in North Dakota falls right in line with rifle season so it tends to get tough with all the hunters out chasing with white tail
You guys really need to check out the all predator calls kill suits and sapper suits... I ground hunt no blind and get deer within 3yds of me.. They’re really light weight and are much cooler than typical ghillie suits!!
