The Beartown tears are 10/10 relatable. I saw someone on goodreads describe this book as "the best book I've read but never ever want to re-read" and I felt that in my soul.
Girl! I am reading The Perfect marriage rn too! And yes, her attraction to the sheriff is so friggin cringy. Like, ‘wtf girl, you just found out your husband cheated, and is a murder suspect. How tf you got time to be attracted to some random? Especially some random dude that arrested your husband?’
I read Beartown last year and almost DNFd it in the first 200 pages because all the hockey, small town mundane politics, and so many characters. Boy was I glad I pushed through though. Once the “event” happened I couldn’t put the book down. I alternated between rage and sorrow. That clip of you sobbing was totally me too. The next book is great too. I still need to read book 3.
Bear town was so well written, the author did such a great job, as a reader you feel so connected to the people of bear town. Amat was my favourite, the way he said he loved her for so long, his integrity. Wonderfully written.
The Perfect Marriage is the only book I’ve ever given 1 star LMAOOO. I usually DNF when I’m not liking a book that much but had to keep reading for the meme. Literally every sentence of that book is ridiculous 😭 I was laughing at the dialogue so bad.
The fact that I recommended Listen for the Lie, but picked Bear Town for the brackets because I knew it would win. This book has made everyone I’ve seen read it cry and that’s why I will not be reading it😂
Love the series idea.. Lexi AKA NewlyNova also loved BearTown and I believe has read all of the follow up books, love her channel so wanted to give her a shout here 🥅🐻🏒
i've been waiting to see what you thought of the perfect marriage 😂 you said you don't want to sound like a hater and i have to say that you are kinder than i 😂😂
The Beartown series is the ONLY books of Fredrik Backman that I havent read and he's one of my favorite authors. Im so glad you loved Beartown and I hope you look into his other books because they all destroy
Beartown is my favorite series of all time and Benji is probably my favorite fictional characters. Also helps that Fredrik Backman is a very nice person. Fun fact: we went to the same high school (not at the same time) and he’s part of a mural with all the other publicly well-known people to have studied there.
I am so glad you finally read Bear town! I knew it would hit you right in the feels, especially when you mentioned that you had teared up about 100 pages in, I was like 'omg, this is gonna break her'. I left my heart inside those pages, Frederick Backman is a genius.
honesty just wanna say that you're truly one of my favorite book-tubers and i love how creative and thoughtful you are -- you're always thinking about new video series/content to keep us engaged! ps i love your reading vlogs and I hope you and caleb also vlog a bit of your Bali and Tokyo trip!!
Ah, hi my Mississippi friend Tai! 🥰 Sydney, same thoughts on Beartown and Backman. He makes me appreciate being a human and what it means to live and hurt and grieve down to my core. I’m a fantasy girl through and through but he’s my favorite author. Loved the video and can’t wait for more!
This was me reading Beartown too. It's been my favourite book of the year so far. I've read the second in the trilogy, it was also a 5 star read for me.
Love this vlog, what a fun concept!! Lmao Jeneva Rose is also not the author for me so I was laughing at the first pick 😂 I actually liked her new release Home is Where the Bodies Are, I was so surprised haha maybe you could’ve had more success with that one! Also ahhh Bear Town hurts my heart too 😭🥹 such a good one!
omg your reatction to Beartown HAHAHAHAHA😂 I am starting A Man Called Ove for a bookclub and so excited. I have a weird question if you don't mind; what are your headphones and would you recommend them for audiobooks ? Thank you
Oh I absolutely loved Beartown. When I read it I hadn’t heard much beyond pursue project did a video on it. Man was I not prepared for how heavy it was but gosh did I love the story. I still think about it often.
I've heard so many good things about Beartown, but I don't think I could read about the topics it covers so I never picked it up. It's great you loved it so much! Hopefully the rest of the series is just as good.
I'm just a little over 70% in beartown right now and now I'm scared to keep reading it after the sob session 😭 if anything happens to Benji I will be broken
Saw the thumbnail, and clicked so fast. Fredrik Backman is my favourite author, and I'm always down for watching someone else get destroyed by his books 🐻🏒
I had no idea bear town was a heavy book! I was going to read it for summer because I thought it was a “easy breezy” read but nope… Great video!!! Watched it all the way through! 🏒🐻
I love this series idea 😍 Beartown is magic, but to sooth the pain with laughter listen to Everything My Son Needs To Know About The World by Fredrick Backman! It’s truly hilarious and so short 💛
ok right off the bat i have to say: hearing the premise for the perfect marriage…… a wife representing her husband for his mistress’s murder violates several conflicts of interests, aka judge would let that fly at ALL 😭😭😭 even if she’s a public defender they’d find someone else
I was so nervous to find out if you would love Beartown like I thought-and so happy you did! I cried often too. I completely agree with the magic of how Backman writes characters and makes everything feel so real. 🐻 🏒 ❤
Love this video idea💕💕 Bear town trilogy was already in my tbr but now I have to read it asap because I love traumatizing myself with excellent books 😂
🐻 *Man* I saw you at the end of Bear Town and was like _I'm going to go buy it right now_ but I know I will look at it on my shelf waiting for the moment I feel prepared. Wow.
If you don’t like Drowning: The Rescue of Flight 1492, then there’s something wrong with ya! It’s about a plane that crashed into the middle of the ocean and the harrowing attempts to save the 8 people still inside, trapped in an air pocket. Just when you think things couldn’t get worse, they do… Non-stop action. One of my favorite books of all time.
Great Video Sydney and if I can make a suggestion for your next read that you can read outside of this challenge and I think you would really enjoy it It’s Called A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw I Absolutely Loved It Have a Wonderful Day tomorrow and a Fantastic Week Happy Reading 📖😊
The first 50%-60% of the perfect marriage was meh for me. A perfectly average, forgettable, three-star thriller. But after the 3 stooges-esque debacle that went down in the police station, it absolutely plummeted and I couldn't take anything else seriously after that point. I think I ended up giving it a 1 or 2 star 🫠 I DNF You Shouldn't Have Come Here at like 20%. I love Jeneva so much as a content creator, but her writing is not for me either 😅
The Beartown tears are 10/10 relatable. I saw someone on goodreads describe this book as "the best book I've read but never ever want to re-read" and I felt that in my soul.
That sounds like it was Allen Walker!
me with nightingale by kristin hannah 🫠
Using the blanket to wipe the tears, a vibe. Relatable 😅

🐻
Have you read Anxious People yet? That one is my favorite of his. Excited for the rest of the series. I love the bracket idea.
So, after a Man Called Ove I decided Fredrik Backman was an instant buy but have only read a short story on grief he wrote…but own 3 others. 😅 🐻

I’m glad you gave The Perfect Marriage a chance. Now you know you definitely don’t vibe with her writing. You got through it and I’m proud of you! 🫶🏼
I also adored Beartown! Obviously a difficult read, but could not agree more that Backman just knows how to write hard-hitting stories.
The fact that I recommended Listen for the Lie, but picked Bear Town for the brackets because I knew it would win. This book has made everyone I’ve seen read it cry and that’s why I will not be reading it😂
Syd, the rest of Beartown gets even more painful. I SOBBBBBBBBBBBBBED at this. Prepare yourself
I saw “You Shouldn’t Have Come Here” while thrifting today and literally LOLed thinking, Syd hated it, so that’s a hard pass… 😂
Love the series idea.. Lexi AKA NewlyNova also loved BearTown and I believe has read all of the follow up books, love her channel so wanted to give her a shout here 🥅🐻🏒
I've never read Bear Town, but dang... I started crying just watching you cry. 😭 🐻 🏒
i've been waiting to see what you thought of the perfect marriage 😂

When I saw this video start off with the Perfect Marriage, I knew you were doomed from the start 😂
I read Beartown a few years ago and I LOVED it, but I never continued on with the series for some reason!
🐻
I am so glad you finally read Bear town! I knew it would hit you right in the feels, especially when you mentioned that you had teared up about 100 pages in, I was like 'omg, this is gonna break her'. I left my heart inside those pages, Frederick Backman is a genius.

The entire Beartown series was 5 ⭐ for me, have the tissues at the ready.....you're in for an emotional ride. 🐻🏒

the sudden tears jumpscare oh my god i'm not reading beartown LOL.
Just wait if you get to the third book in Beartown - I was in a heap!
Ohhhh Jeneva Rose. I read three of her books because I find her so funny on instagram but holy cow that writing is BAD 😂
I need to read Beartown miserably
Between Shades on Gray by Ruta Sepetys!! I loved this book so much ❤❤
I live in Bali and it was very meta hearing you say you're coming 😂
Have you thought about of doing a series where you read the most popular books from each decade? Would love to watch that.
Marin Ireland did a brilliant job narrating the audio 👏🏻 of Beartown.
omg your reatction to Beartown HAHAHAHAHA😂 I am starting A Man Called Ove for a bookclub and so excited. I have a weird question if you don't mind; what are your headphones and would you recommend them for audiobooks ? Thank you
They are TOZO HT2! And I do like them a lot!! Very comfy and many settings for noise cancelling!
I am SO EXCITED for this series.
Benji is one of my favorite book characters of all time. I love Beartown. 🐻
the letter kenny comparison made me want to read bear town EVEN more
I laughed so many times watching this!!! What a great series 😊. And I love letterkenny hahahaah it’s so good!
goooood i teared up just watching you talk about Beartown! Backman is such an amazing writer
Oh I absolutely loved Beartown. When I read it I hadn’t heard much beyond pursue project did a video on it. Man was I not prepared for how heavy it was but gosh did I love the story. I still think about it often.

i have!! i gave it a 4✨

Bear town trilogy was already in my tbr but now I have to read it asap because I love traumatizing myself with excellent books 😂
I just finished Janeva rose’s new book and to me, it’s her best book
The Beartown trilogy is the only trilogy in which I LOVED all 3 books 🐻🏒
🐻 *Man* I saw you at the end of Bear Town and was like _I'm going to go buy it right now_ but I know I will look at it on my shelf waiting for the moment I feel prepared. Wow.
🐻Reading Winners now 😭This may be my favorite series ever. I grew up in a small town, and am the parent of teen athletes, and have ALL THE FEELS

Love your videos! 🐻
Okay! okay! I am late to the party but….Bear Town is now on order. Kleenex will be necessary ❤️
It is a kindle unlimited book!!!! Have mercy
ILY
🐻 ❤
Is it realistic that the wife can defend her husband in court ? Isn't she the main suspect ??? That's already too much disbelief for me^^
I love a good gay character. What I don’t like is the trend of ‘insert gay character here.’ I get the feeling that some authors do that.
🐻🐻🐻
🏒🐻😘😘😘
🐻
Someone actually convincing me to pick up Bear Town?? 👀🐻🏒
going on vacation here soon and have Beartown on my kindle 🏒🏒🏒 I love hockey and winter so I'm ready
