It is nice to see someone who cares about something, likes to do it, and is willing to share his knowledge and experience. Thanks from the U.S. I will explore further!
My Grandad gave me a copy of it when i was a kid which i still have somewhere, he also gave me a an Audio book of Micheal Hordern Reading Arthur Ransom's Rod and Line, i think i listened to it so much i wore the magnetism off the tape. Good luck with the lures and don't be tempted to use the rotator for barbecuing mackerel. Cheers
teaching my boy this art...showed him your video, now he understands me!!! FYI add gloss glaze to your master worms for a better gloss finish to the worm baits...thank you from dad and son.
Great job very informative as I have just returned to fishing after thirty years and this soft baits spin my mind they are great thanks for showing how to DIY
Wow that's a nice perch wow I miss yellow perch they do have them in Louisiana. Sucks ide love to go back up north to the first place with the perch and walleye fish for days and bring some back down here. But great mold love it. I really need to make one or some. Thanks for sharing and explaining how. God bless
I'm 14 and I love fishing but I don't think my parents would go for this a that much...is there any way to do this to where its safer thanks these lures look great
This looks like a lot of effort just to make something you can buy for a few cents a piece, but I can imagine the satisfaction when you hook a fish with those home made lures. The making of those lures looks like a lot of fun too for the long rainy days too. Thank you for the video, now I got to find out where I can buy the "ingredients" and make me some lures
This is a brilliant video and I really enjoyed watching it. Thank you for the time you spent in doing all the preparation work and for sharing it in such a manner. Excellent!
i would estimate these worms cost about £0.05 each to make so they are cheap, but to be honest i just like making things and they do not sell plastic worms in my local tackle shop, but you can buy all the live ones you want. cheers
when pouring with the thin stream do it side to side on one end, doing it on one spot it folds over itself lots creating bubbles and pushing them down, if you do it side to side it doesn't fold onto its self and you get less bubbles =]
Again a great video ! Ps : that is one of the greatest books ever ! And thanks for all the help with the lure rotator I got all the parts and have it working .
Think your videos are excellent, i get emails as soon as you have uploaded anything new and i have made a few of the spinners myself,,not had much chance at using them just now with the weather here in Scotland but i will keep you posted, great work Paul and cheers for sharing.
That is a trout reservoir that has a good head of perch and no pike to compete. I am still trying to decide what is next i had an idea for shad based lure, but i wanted to come at it from a different angle and then it is case seeing if i can film it. But as I finally finished this vid I went out for a couple of hours piking, found a little fella and missed a couple more. Cheers
hope you dont mind me giving a suggestion , in your colour rubber mix , also mix in some glitter colours for different affects , you can also use clear rubber with coloured glitter.. inside to ....
i do use glitter and other colours, but to be honest i like the plain the red ones as well and i am never one to refuse a suggestion. cheers and happy new year
This is perfect! I might give this a go this winter while I'm stuck indoors. You mentioned re-heating the plastics to melt them down again - is this able to be done with plastic from large bait manufacturers? I have a bucket full of ripped up worms and other soft baits I'd love to recycle.
I have never made this type of lure in my life, I have made Bucktail and I've caught fish on the Bucktails.tall I did was eyeballed it putting together in 5 min. I like what you're doing, there's no way I can do all of this. The cost measuring calibration sanding and then when you pulled out that gas mask I was done, I don't want any lure that bad., , if it moves right and looks like it's in trouble, a fish is going to hit it.even if it were a car key.
You are right i can find no real explanation for why i spend a huge amount of time making fishing lures, i no i enjoy it and that is good enough for me. Thanks
Have you tried to over pour the mold just a little to get more of a rounded side on the top instead of completely flat? I would imagine if you pour a little too much it would round off like if you were to put water in the mold. I've never poured any lures but I'm wanting to get into it but I'm not so sure about the flat side of the lure. I'd much rather it be a little more round not so flat.
Nice little pairch at the end! Is the plastic you use to pour with the same as PVA adhesive? Also could you make a lure actually from silicone like we use for sealant on worktop's? Mixed with glitter and stuff?
i seldom do proper costing for lures as i make them for fun, but price wise soft plastics work out cheaper than normal shop bought only if you i make in volume so if i just made these from a 1ltr of plastisol i would estimate between .05p to 10p each excluding the mold. Similar molds can be bought from plastisol suppliers for about £10. Cheers
+Paul Adams Great video! I there a way to cast a mold for a completely circular worm so there is no flat spot or void on the exposed part of the cooling plastic?
MrNdog1000 I think the problem with food dye is it is water based and will not react well with the pvc or stand up to the tempreutres, but it is not something i have tried or would wish to. The dyes i use are fro the same supplier as the liquid pvc. There is a German company who produce a gelatin based plastic for making lures which uses food colouring. www.fritz-germany.com/portal/shop_content.php?language=en&gm_boosted_content=Fresh-Bait&portal=shop_content.php&coID=99& thanks
i am using the soft version of lureflex, from lure factors which feels pretty tough to me, i do have a hardener that i can add to stiffen up and make if either medium or hard but as yet i have not used it. I think if i was doing larger baits i would go medium. But i m guessing all companies will have there own mixes. I haven't really done a lot of sea fishing with soft plastics but i can tell you they are a hell of a lot tougher than a rag or a lug-worm even when mummified in bait elastic. Good luck
it is not something i have ever tried, at a guess i would say the straws would melt. I have seen a few videos using straws to make worms, but it might be worth experiment with bio plastic, which is basically jelly and a glycerin mix that can be poured at low temperature and is biodegradable, if you search for "fritz fresh bait" on youtube you should find some videos. Other than that a making a mold from the straws using silicone would maybe work. Cheers
Hi Paul, I am watching your videos and I would like to ask what can you use if you don't have liquid PVC in order to make the lures... What other material can I work with?
highly recommended to watch your videos to those who want to make their own lures. Respect for a man like you.
It is nice to see someone who cares about something, likes to do it, and is willing to share his knowledge and experience. Thanks from the U.S. I will explore further!
So rewarding when you catch even an itty bitty fish on something you have made on your own.
I am amazed that the high end producers, from Yamamoto to Lucky Craft haven't come after you with axe handles. This is great stuff!
Anybody else watched this with captions on? Fkin hilarious i tell thee. Btw great lure making, i want to do it but far too lazy for mould building.
this guy is the Bob Ross of fishing lures design.
This was very, very good. You were thorough and explained the hazards which often get neglected.
They feel very high quality and have great action. I've only tested it so far shore fishing on the minnesota river. That being said; so far, so good.
The way you did the texture was simply brilliant.
Cheers
Couldn’t find lined paper, but I found 2mm graph paper! My worms will come to life soon!
teaching my boy this art...showed him your video, now he understands me!!! FYI add gloss glaze to your master worms for a better gloss finish to the worm baits...thank you from dad and son.
Great job very informative as I have just returned to fishing after thirty years and this soft baits spin my mind they are great thanks for showing how to DIY
Thank you. Your videos help me sleep at night. Your voice is very soothing.
Wow that's a nice perch wow I miss yellow perch they do have them in Louisiana. well I'm learning all kinds of uses for molding rubbers really liked this video

in the uk i s lurefactors, europe there is lurepartsnl,Usa Makelure (allumilite), Bears Baits, Jannsnetcraft, thanks
I'm 14 and I love fishing but I don't think my parents would go for this a that much...is there any way to do this to where its safer thanks these lures look great
do you know how to fly fish?
yes very badly, some people consider me a danger when holding a fly rod
That is one of the greatest books ever ! And again a great video !
Amazing I love people those come with creative and alternative ways, but still need to know how you dig the hook into the lure !
Thanks
Looks like a good bait for small bass ponds, ill have to try this out
Thanks Paul. I always look forward to relaxing and learning from your awesome vids..
Watched the whole thing. Looks good. I may have to try this
Fantastic video Paul,a joy to watch,Thank you.

nice video i am just starting to try and make soft plastic lures. your video was very helpful.
it is something that i have never tried, i have only melted lures i have made so i know what is in them. Thanks
This is a brilliant video and I really enjoyed watching it. Thank you for the time you spent in doing all the preparation work and for sharing it in such a manner. Excellent!
thanks, i am glad you enjoyed it
nice plastic pouring! i do that sometimes too,and make custom molds with the putty version of silicon rubber
i would estimate these worms cost about £0.05 each to make so they are cheap, but to be honest i just like making things and they do not sell plastic worms in my local tackle shop, but you can buy all the live ones you want. cheers

Nice video. Seems easy enough for anyone to do.
I enjoy your videos. You take your time an explain everything. Thanks

GerbesBvhjujkkk"shHD".joignablesillimitéelimbourgeoiskippa
that was an awsome video!!!! thanks for the wealth of knowledge and also the clear cut instructions.

Congratulations Paul... It's another magnificent work, still and pure presentation style with high quality video....
another great how to! thanks for this Paul! always look forward to your next video. cheers
if you mean the sculpey then i think so but the liquid pvc or silicone won't be at least i don't think so cheers
Again a great video ! Ps : that is one of the greatest books ever ! And thanks for all the help with the lure rotator I got all the parts and have it working .

Really interesting videos You have.
I prefer to make lures from metal.. and i really enjoy it ..
Very nice video again , Paul , ...great idea about that texturing tool ! Greetz , Dieter
Great video as always Paul. Could you kindly do video on how to make plastic fish lures? Thank you.
It was just the right thickness, but i still felt a bit guilty miss-using one of the fishing greats. Thanks
you should be able to do that.it really depends on what brand, and what's in the plastics they comercially pour.
Great vid n nice perch as well
Great video man, simple. Thanks!
Could you make an instructional video on making soft plastic jerkbaits please?
Thanks.
Love your videos by the way!!!
Nice perch
Again another great video . Ps: that is one of the greatest books ever !
subtitles on point
Cheers Dieter i should get my wife to do a German voice over
thank you for this idea

I congratulate you
I wish you continued success
It's quite good
your work is quite sobering
great video. very helpful
Nicely done, thanks for sharing
Great video Paul and a nice fishing spot you got there... whats next paddle tail shad plastics??? ;-)
Good, clear info. Thanks.
so the lure factors must be purchased at what shop?
should be small stove fire and stirred continuously?
Am I high or are the captions completely off?
Good work

paul hello am aq of Brazil like fishing from mto loved your videos :)
I wanted to learn mto make these baits
ola paul sou aq do brasil gosto mto de pescar adorei seus videos :)
To get rid of bubbles from silicone you can put it
vacuum space.
Nice little pairch at the end!
Is the plastic you use to pour with the same as PVA adhesive? Also could you make a lure actually from silicone like we use for sealant on worktop's? Mixed with glitter and stuff?
i am just starting to make soft plastic lures and am wondering if its ok to use sandwich/freezer bags for them until I can get bags made for them
cool mate love your videos. thanks
Nice video!
Is it possible to the use baked polymer clay for the mold itself? Seems temperature resistant and Ridgid.
i am just working on one at the moment cheers
That's awesome
You could tey and add scents into the die as well possibly? Like garlic?
i normally add scents when i am fishing, it means i have more options than when i add it at the pouring stagecheers
Was always wondering if this saves money but seems like the plastisol would be rather costly. Is this much cheaper than buying in store?
can you show a way to put more then one secured hook in a fake worm?
i seldom do proper costing for lures as i make them for fun, but price wise soft plastics work out cheaper than normal shop bought only if you i make in volume so if i just made these from a 1ltr of plastisol i would estimate between .05p to 10p each excluding the mold. Similar molds can be bought from plastisol suppliers for about £10. Cheers
Would i be able to use soft plastics I bought as the master copy for the mold?
you'r geni i love this video
Extremely helpful and great video overall. You just got another like and subscriber. Thanks!
glad you found it useful
Do you think black garden slugs could be made this way....
Awesome Vid or film like u say. But😨😨😨😨😨😨How u put eyes on it????,before or afther molding??????. Thks for share
Question
What happened to a piece white paper
Dipped into the plastisol ( removed from microwave)?
Does the paper turn into transparent?
Could you do a video. How to make plastick fishes?
+Paul Adams Great video! I there a way to cast a mold for a completely circular worm so there is no flat spot or void on the exposed part of the cooling plastic?
Can any dye such as food coloring be used or does it have to be a special plastic dye?
MrNdog1000 I think the problem with food dye is it is water based and will not react well with the pvc or stand up to the tempreutres, but it is not something i have tried or would wish to. The dyes i use are fro the same supplier as the liquid pvc. Thats awesome!
Hi Paul, What grade of the soft plastic did you use? I've read that the softest grade may not stand up to the rigors of sea fishing. Regards.
i am using the soft version of lureflex, from lure factors which feels pretty tough to me, i do have a hardener that i can add to stiffen up and make if either medium or hard but as yet i have not used it. I think if i was doing larger baits i would go medium. But i m guessing all companies will have there own mixes. Will a toaster oven work for all the cooking?
Plz answer and thx for the vid
Hi Paul, I am watching your videos and I would like to ask what can you use if you don't have liquid PVC in order to make the lures... What other material can I work with?
Nice vid
qria aprender mto fazer estas iscas
Im not sure if this is a stupid question but doesn't the flat spot mess up the lure or how do you make one with out the flat spot
Matt Ganci ruclips.net/video/Ug9ECvhza-w/видео.html
G'day mate just wondering what is the price difference between making your own gear and buying it?? Great videos
