Yes, free parking at the beach would be very nice. They really need more available parking down there altogether. It gets really congested in the summer, unfortunately.

Thank you. Yes, it was a nice, wide spot. We really enjoy campgrounds that try to maintain trees and bushes between spots rather than feeling like we're camping in a grassy parking lot.

We visit South Haven in the fall almost every year. We also really enjoy Saugatuck. It is another hidden gem in the same area. We love the West coast of Michigan. Safe travels!

Yes, this was a weekend in May but the smoke from those Canadian wildfires has been blocking a lot of our sunshine this summer. Even today, it's supposed to be sunny but it's hazy and cloudy and it's from the wildfire smoke. We can even smell it here in Michigan. It's crazy! Normally it isn't like this at the end of June...

We were there to try to capture sunrise so that's why there weren't many people. It definitely gets busier as the sun comes up. But it is Lake Michigan so it's usually a little brisk unless we have a hot summer. 😀 Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
We’ve never been there. Was that a recent video- hat and gloves needed ?? 🥶
We were there May 17-21, 2023. And yes, it's always wise to have winter gear nearby when visiting Michigan. But it has warmed up significantly since then so you'll probably be safe without them unless you want to be outside for long periods of time after the sun goes down. It still gets into the 50s-60s overnight quite often.
