Hey Ed, I know your probably not going to see this message, but I always see your videos on RUclips where you go to subscribers' houses, and you build them their dream gaming setup and I've always dreamed of this happening to me one day. And I really hope we can try to figure something out. I have been subscribed for about 3-4 years and I really enjoy your content and the videos you do, And for the longest I have asked my mom for a gaming computer I eventually got one but it's not the best but I am super appreciative of what my mom does for me and I play this game called Escape From Tarkov and it's a very big game and I'm only running 40-50 FPS and I really want a computer for Christmas but my mom just doesn't have the money because I have 3 other brothers and I would be insanely thankful if u would be able to come to my house and build me my dream gaming setup.
I have this exact build... the other day, I was gaming so hard, and getting mad crazy FPS that I got reported for cheating cause the servers couldnt keep up with my PC. sooo hyped that when i went to start my next game, I woke up... and realized it was all a dream. damnit
Still missing three reverse fans for the site :P Still a nice build and my build is quite similar but I went with the 7800x3D and only two sticks of ddr5 64GB ram. Hope he loves it.
@@SkateClipsAndTips since he planned to mount the gpu to the side the fan direction wasn't an issue until he had to install the gpu horizontally. And it's hard to get those reverse fans quickly when you right there recording a video. So there is the option to delay it (worst case for weeks since they are hard to get) or just install them as they are.
The reason why the framerate never changed much between 4k and 1440p is because at 4k the game automatically drops the resolution scale down to about 65% meaning you arent actually rendering at 4k infact you can see at 26:41 the resolution scale is set to 62%, whereas at 1440p its set 100%. So realistically when you had it set to 4k you were only actually rendering a bit over 1440p.
a budget is an amount of something that dosent go past *enter amount* example: "zachary has to go buy apples, his mom gave him a budget of 10 dollars, he cant go past that budget because thats how much his mom gave him to spend on apples." so he just has a very large budget for the pc build

I'm getting 95 sometimes 100C° on games. But stays around 75-85% on average on AAA games like BG3 on 4k Monitor. It's really frustrating you know? Just after 3 months of buying a dream PC and now temp issue. And degrading and stuff. Man!
shame he didnt go with the ryzen 7 7800x3d edit: no way edgar actually called amd unreliable when intels 14900k 14900ks and 13900k cpus have been failing and quite literally bricking computers, not to mention the heat
You'd be insane to go with 8 cores on a 5000$ PC. An i9 (or R9) will offer an overall superior computing experience even if they're slightly slower in games than a 7800x3d. Unless all he does is play esports games with very little background tasks and cares about the difference between 600 and 700 fps. If that's you get a 7800x3d.
For 5K…… can’t get high frames on 4K…. Not impressed at all by the build. I was very let down idk why I thought it would crush every game at 120 frames… 😢

That case is so cool, being able to move the grates, all the extra space, the magnetic back plate with hard drive space. I'm not even into pc building and i find it so cool
I start to agree intel vs. AMD CPU, I thought it was just me. I'd built a few PC 2 with AMD and one w/intel and both my AMD build give me problem. My intel build still rocking, but I just build another PC with more power and speed with Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU. Ever since both my AMD giving me problem, now I lean more toward Intel when building my PC. But I've notice building with AMD seem a little cheaper vs. Intel.
This is a pure example how to waste your money!! Lot's of people make this mistake and watch such ridiculous videos and hope to have the best of best PC 😂
IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO BUYERS! Don't buy an i9 14900k. Buy instead an i9 13900k. Both are the same, Intel only overclocked an 13900k and sells it as 14900k. Otherwise wait for the 15th Gen. OR completely change to an AMD cpu
Honestly would recommend just using the 12900KS if you want to go intel because the instability and silicon problems for the 13th and 14th gen are just too widespread to be ignored
man, i wish you could have shown how to set up the pc, in all aspects, like cable connection on the motherboard, and Bios settings after PC set up, but it is a great build, nonetheless.

Currently tying to put together a parts list for a game-dev build, any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm using unreal and eventually blender, but the i5 and 1650 I have now are really slowing me down. I was actually considering using the arc A700 because the price and amount of V Ram is attractive to me. Any thoughts from everyone would be greatly appreciated.
For blender nvidia is a better choice, their optimization, cuda cores and other stuff re real dealbreakers if you ask me. If you re on budget i would look after used deals maybe? 2080 or 2070 super could be a deal for you? Brand new you acctually have pretty decent rtx 3060 12gb version, overwall ok card. For cpu i would say if you can go after 13600k and b660 motherboard alongside ddr4 or ddr5 ram, depends on a budget, definently 32gb of it. If this is out of your budget, maybe a 13400f? Other than this intel re not offering much at new market. Amd hoewer ik that its older am4 platform and upgradability onto b550 motherboard would be quite medicore,like 5950x is end of the road. But at around 150, 200€ you could get a 5700x with quite nice performance. I would suggest to hop onto hardware unboxed and gamersnexus reviews of cpus.
@robikovac3032 Thank you so much for the input. The 12gb 3060 was definitely one of the cards I was looking at. It's been really difficult deciding on a cpu to get. When everyone on youtube is using i9's I feel like I would be downgrading getting anything else.
@@jake1225 as I understand for game-dev you need a powerful PC, so build the best you can afford. Thus, you need a gaming pc + some extra things like more RAM, storage, maybe more CPU will help. I think 13700k is a great CPU for that, moreover it is on sale right now - 365$ on Newegg. Or maybe wait couple weeks for new 14th gen to release, potentially 13900k will be on sale too. For GPU you might go with 4070-4070ti, I am not sure how VRAM matters for game dev, if it bothers you a lot, there is 4060ti 16gb (I heard it went on sale recently). You always can go on used market to save some, but there are risks. for RAM I would definitely go with 64gb even ddr5 doesn't cost too much today.

Guys im trying to decide between two pc builds - they are both the same price ($1.5k AUD) i5-13400F and RTX 4060 or i5 13600K and Radeon 6600 Should i go for a better cpu and worse gpu combo, or worse cpu and better gpu combo? Im looking for a build to play FPS games and hopefully gta 6 :D

PC is great, but the title should have been 'How to bring a $5,000 PC to its knees.' Cyberpunk and Starfield don't care how much your PC costs. You aren't getting over 120 FPS in 4K max settings with Ray tracing off.

its because the cpu bottle necks the 4090. there arent many cpu's that wont bottleneck that crazy gpu

You will play gta 6 with both of those pc on medium but its better for you to buy faster gpu like 6800 xt

PC is great, but the title should have been 'How to bring a $5,000 PC to its knees.' Cyberpunk and Starfield don't care how much your PC costs. You aren't getting over 120 FPS in 4K max settings with Ray tracing off.
