I would put those specs into a desktop and see how much the setup will cost. Laptops are surprisingly cheap these days given the spec and portability they need to have. Its just these parts are getting more and more expensive. Intel chips thankfully have some competition now but when this was designed I suspect the AMD chips weren't even considered. GPUs are still way overpriced.

I think it's awesome...but am gonna' wait for an oled 13.3 that You review (don't honestly care about what brand but would be nice if it was Razer) with the dual four lane thunderbolt...hook it to a side gaming box with an RTX 2080ti under the hood...and I'll be cool. Is where I'm heading in 2020.

I really like Lenovo laptops. I miss the old bulky Thinkpads keyboards, so hearing this have a Thinkpad like keyboard is a good thing. I'm curious if the matte display is like old Legions that was just a plastic cover, that if you pulled off got a very shiny and bright display. I don't mind glossy screens. It's not like I'm gonna use it under direct sunlight.
I'm waiting for Your review of the Gigabyte aero 17 with gtx1660ti and i7 with fhd 144hz. Will you review the base model with the gtx 1660ti or the rtx 2060. Happy New Year Lisa.
You can buy this computer with 16GB memory , Nivdia 1660 6GB graphics card, 1GB HDD + 512GB SSD at Costco for $999 until 2/2/20. I think I will be buying a new laptop within the next five days. And never forget the Costco 90 day return policy plus the free two-year hardware warranty. As far as tech reviewers go, Lisa is the best, bar none. If there was a RUclips Hall of Fame for tech reviewers Lisa should be the first person inducted.
I'll never bought a 1400$ with crappy speakers , and until lenovo don't return working with JBL , and bringing back subwoofer and crystal clear sound to their machines , I never bought one of their laptops again... sticking with my Y50 and enjoy the best laptop sound ever , no profile , no equalizer , just play anything and it will sound best possible.
PLEASE review the latest legion 7i. Is there a Legion 7 coming with a AMD processor? with the new thermals it could be a killer at a lesser price. PLEASE suggest an ideal configuration (a sweet spot for price)
Hey Lisa! Long time viewer, first time poster. Love your reviews! Did you happen to catch Dave2D’s comparison of the Y545 and the Y540? It’s a bit dated now given at the time the gtx 1600s weren’t even an option, but he ended up favoring the Y540 due to thermals, IIRC. Would you have any thoughts? I’m really torn between both and looking to make a purchase relatively soon. I’m also torn between the 17” and the 15” models of either, but that’s less related to performance and more due to ergonomics vs portability. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Hey @@ahtobgy, I ended up buying an Eluktronics Mag-15 with an RTX 2070 Max-Q, 2TB NVMe SSD + 32GB RAM and couldn't be happier with my purchase. amzn.to/39XuUBv Just for reference, a similarly spec'd Legion Y545 with an RTX 2060, 1GB HD + 1 GB SSD + 32GB RAM comes out to $1,825 which is only $175 cheaper. My only gripe with the Eluktronics is the sound, which is rarely a problem given I'm normally using headphone anyway. I'd suggest taking a look at them. They're getting a lot of great reviews and I can confirm they are amazing laptops at an incredible value.
Is the 1TB HDD used as storage only? No operating system on it? I’ve tried to look for information but can’t seem to find any. If it’s used as storage... putting a 1TB SSD in its place should be as easy as just a swapping out correct? Nothing else is needed to be done? (Besides formatting of course).

Seeing this review in the Lenovo Legion Y545(same laptop). Every bit that Lisa says is true. Loving it.
Is it me or does it seem like most laptops are very over priced these days?
Depends on the brand, the specs, or both.

Inflation. You can't buy the beast laptop today for 1000 bucks and you could 10 years ago

the thing is, windows laptops seem to not age well over time and mac’s are severely overpriced with lower specs.
