Great overview video, thank you! Just curious, though, are any of these "Smart" watches actually good at capturing accurate heart rate? I have a Charge 2 and it often gets stuck on one number. Once I did an entire kickboxing routine and it was stuck on 78bpm the entire time! I find this annoying and hesitate to purchase another Fitbit, like the Versa 2. Thoughts on which one is accurate? Thanks so much!

Great roundup, still can't convince me to get any of them to replace my Amazfit Bip. I bought it thinking it would last me a few weeks, I needed the GPS tracking for a mountain biking trip. Almost two years later, it's still chugging along, charging it about once a month, I never ran out of battery. Gives me all the information I need, and some more. For the money, very hard to beat!
Do you think active 2 good on iOS ? Bcuz Apple Watch kinda expensive to be honest with you and My need is just for fitness tracking what do you think Mike? Shoutout to u just subscribed to your channel
Hi Mike! How would you compare Garmin Vivomove, Vivoactive and Forerunner series? I am thinking of upgrading from a Fitbit Charge 3, and want something that has more of a smartwatch capacity. My physical activity at this point is limited to running and walking, so I am not that inclined to spending $300 on a Vivomove. Would really like to know your thoughts on this. Thanks!
Hello Mike, Great video! I own a Galaxy Watch and a Huawei Watch Gt2 - two great watches. Now, for something different, I'm looking for a Wear OS smartwatch that can be great as both smart and fitness watch. Suunto 7 seems to comply with these two premises, although there is another one I do not give up - the ability to answer calls and, as far as I'm aware, Suunto 7 does not allow it since It does not have a speaker, like so many other great smartwatches, correct? Based on these premises, can you suggest any model? With Wear OS or not, do you know if are there any Suunto or Garmin models (great fitness trackers) with the ability to answer calls? Many thanks. Best Regards
Here's what I've read in the Suunto 7 product description: "Stream music or video audio (Google Play, Spotify, Pandora, RUclips and more) through a smartphone and control it right on your watch. Or, download playlists and podcasts via your Google Play Music account and enjoy your tunes phone-free. Holds 1000s of songs (depending on quality)." I mean, if you can store songs and enjoy them phone-free, it must have a speaker right ? Otherwise it's really bad phrasing...
@@solidbry1055 Hello Solidbry, Many thanks for your reply. When they refer "phone-free" I guess they mean by using a bluetooth speaker connected to the watch, for instance, bluetooth headphones...
Mike, I was so disappointed with the Active 2. The glass cracked within the 1st month. I don't recalled hitting anything or dropping it at all. I own at least a dozen traditional watches. I never broke a single one. What kind of glass I should be looking for in smart watch?
Thanks a lot Majed Shohaib can we talk in mail if poosible I have lots of questions if you don't mind. Actually this watch is available in limited stock in India and I m confused
How is battery life on Galaxy watch 3 compared to its previous gen Galaxy watch, Samsung reduced battery size on 3 and is a big concern to upgrade to 3.
hi Mike O Brien, when you made this video, was the Samsung Galaxy watch Active 3 has been released already? And were you already able to make a review prior to this video?
Mike loved your video, wanted to ask about your reason you chose the Galaxy Active 2 as best overall instead of the Suunto 7? Just curious if it was because of the cost of the Suunto or if it was something else? Thanks again
I’m thinking a smart watch, at least after you get over initial wonder of owning one, is a good way to get away from your phone, whilst maintaining connection if needed. Also a wonderful way to run or work or whatever, and listen to music/podcasts through bluetooth...
Hey Mike Want to know about Moto360... Is that watch good for fitness tracking, notifications and normal day to day tasks like music control, gps etc Please do let me.know your views on that. Thanks
Hey, Thanks for ur reviews, I am thinking on getting hybrid but can't decide with one, did u have eny problems with condensation on fossil? I also seen that someone had their smoke color rubbing off, couz of this I am thinking on getting vívomove Style, I know that u prefer vívomove but I just much more like looks of fossil and the fact that u cam customize how it looks but color rubbing off and condensation seems like a deal breker for me ;/
Hi mike recently i came across amazfit t rex, heard it good ? Should i buy that please , iam an i phone user and need an rugged watch with basic fitness functions but with accurate data ??? Please recommend me some nice watch?
I've had my Garmin Fenix 6 for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. Battery life is 8 days with full use (6 days if I golf once or twice using it). WOuld love to one day check out this adventurer mode they have for it.
i don't' use it anymore but honestly, the best fitness watch I've ever had including the mi band 5 is the apple watch. it has almost unlimited workouts great GPS waterproof durable AF and good ven without a phone the only downside is nightly charging.
Leaning towards a Garmin. I LOVE everything G Shock. I ordered a 4LTE Watch3...but sending it back: it's too expensive to purchase & pay for a service line. I'd prefer something around $350 with Bluetooth. Also Samsung + Google are working on the next OS? Why is there only one 🤔 WATCH which offers SOLAR? 🌞 I have the ORIGINAL CASIO TOUCH SCREEN CALCULATOR ⌚ WATCH. CASIO TC-600 !
what is the best smartwatch for always on display with great battery life. maybe solar or hybrid. i never understood why i have to flick my wrist and press a button to see the time....
Is there any waterproof smartwatch which can independently play music via built-in memory or speaker, or via MicroSD card slot supporting at least 32 GB with wired 3.5 headphone or via Bluetooth wirelessly for at least 10 hours continuously per charge?
Another great video...when you got to reason 5, I knew it was gonna be Active 2..but the fossil is a good watch, I played around with one at the store before the virus happened, I liked how smooth and easy it was to navigate

Garmin Vivomove HR Black Sports is my favorite......Apart from looks, what are the differences in features between the various Garmin Vivomove models?
Are activ 2 & fossil gen 5 compatible with iPhone as of now..?
Great roundup, still can't convince me to get any of them to replace my Amazfit Bip. I bought it thinking it would last me a few weeks, I needed the GPS tracking for a mountain biking trip. Almost two years later, it's still chugging along, charging it about once a month, I never ran out of battery. Gives me all the information I need, and some more. For the money, very hard to beat!
Does the Bip S have the same qualities?
I've never seen one in person, but from a couple of reviews I've seen, apparently yes
Do you think active 2 good on iOS ? Bcuz Apple Watch kinda expensive to be honest with you and My need is just for fitness tracking what do you think Mike? Shoutout to u just subscribed to your channel
I just ordered the Amazfit T-rex
I love the durability and the robust look to it.
Galaxy watch since release date, absolutely amazing
I like how snappy your reviews are! Thanks
Thanks!
Hello Mike,
Great video!
Here's what I've read in the Suunto 7 product description:
"Stream music or video audio (Google Play, Spotify, Pandora, RUclips and more) through a smartphone and control it right on your watch. Or, download playlists and podcasts via your Google Play Music account and enjoy your tunes phone-free. Holds 1000s of songs (depending on quality)."
I mean, if you can store songs and enjoy them phone-free, it must have a speaker right ? Otherwise it's really bad phrasing...
@@solidbry1055 Hello Solidbry,
Many thanks for your reply. When they refer "phone-free" I guess they mean by using a bluetooth speaker connected to the watch, for instance, bluetooth headphones...
Between the Active 2 and the Garmin Vivoactive 4s, which one would you recommend?
Loving my Active 2 AND I use Bixby on it....
Mike, why'd you choose Suunto 7 and not something like Garmin Fenix series?
Mike,
I was so disappointed with the Active 2. The glass cracked within the 1st month. I don't recalled hitting anything or dropping it at all. I own at least a dozen traditional watches. I never broke a single one. What kind of glass I should be looking for in smart watch?
Honestly thought the Skagen Falster 3 would get a mention here.
I use it everyday since launch and still find it stunning.
Good video though 👍🏽
Hello Majed Shohaib I am currently thinking to buy the same, but i Have some doubts can we communicate in mail, whatsapp?
@@rahulraturi1729 Hi, feel free to ask me anything about the watch. I've used it a lot with both my iPhone and Android phones.
Thanks a lot Majed Shohaib can we talk in mail if poosible I have lots of questions if you don't mind.
Actually this watch is available in limited stock in India and I m confused
@@MajicSho waiting for your reply
I have the gunmetal and it's design never gets old
Very informative review but man what camera your using the clarity is amazing if you don't mind me asking.
Congrats on 200k
After using a mechanical watch for a while my Samsung Gear is HUGE! I love it but it is just so massive compared to anything I'm use to.
How is battery life on Galaxy watch 3 compared to its previous gen Galaxy watch, Samsung reduced battery size on 3 and is a big concern to upgrade to 3.
does vivomove style have spO2 or oximeter? thanks
What were you wearing in the video? Gold one? which watch is that ?
Love my Apple Watch 👍🏻 Looking forward to see what more features wearables will have in the future
hi Mike O Brien, when you made this video, was the Samsung Galaxy watch Active 3 has been released already? And were you already able to make a review prior to this video?
Mike loved your video, wanted to ask about your reason you chose the Galaxy Active 2 as best overall instead of the Suunto 7? Just curious if it was because of the cost of the Suunto or if it was something else? Thanks again
I’m thinking a smart watch, at least after you get over initial wonder of owning one, is a good way to get away from your phone, whilst maintaining connection if needed. Also a wonderful way to run or work or whatever, and listen to music/podcasts through bluetooth...
That’s why I rock a fossil collider HR. It’s da bomb
I was going to buy the Active 2 but changed my mind to the 42mm Galaxy Watch Midnight. Any thoughts on my decision? I haven't actually purchased yet.
Hey Mike
Want to know about Moto360...
Is that watch good for fitness tracking, notifications and normal day to day tasks like music control, gps etc
Please do let me.know your views on that.
Thanks
I'm interested too. It's now way cheaper. 219€. Would you recommend Mike?
Hey, Thanks for ur reviews, I am thinking on getting hybrid but can't decide with one, did u have eny problems with condensation on fossil? I also seen that someone had their smoke color rubbing off, couz of this I am thinking on getting vívomove Style, I know that u prefer vívomove but I just much more like looks of fossil and the fact that u cam customize how it looks but color rubbing off and condensation seems like a deal breker for me ;/
I like Skagen Mike
Yes I should have mentioned the Skagen Falter 3. It's essentially synonymous with the Fossil Gen 5
Mike you still didn’t let us know, what’s the best one for iOS that is not iOS smartwatch.
I like the skagen hybrid also. Which is Fossil. I use a Fossil Carlyle Gen 5 and like it. Updates have improved it 500% or more.
Another great review !
I’m just looking for a watch that I can see day or night. Primarily to use as a watch. The rest is just novelty.
Hi mike recently i came across amazfit t rex, heard it good ? Should i buy that please , iam an i phone user and need an rugged watch with basic fitness functions but with accurate data ??? Please recommend me some nice watch?
Nice review!
Thoughts on the jollynova L6 and L8 fitness watches?
Any of these watches have a small flashlight??
I got samsung active 2 as gift on my birthday last year I love it. I was looking to change to new watch.
I've had my Garmin Fenix 6 for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. Battery life is 8 days with full use (6 days if I golf once or twice using it). WOuld love to one day check out this adventurer mode they have for it.
Yeah the Fenix 6 is truly an incredible watch!
What do you think about Oppo Watch is it good
How good would you say activity tracking is on the moto 360 Gen 3?
My partner has the casio, he can only figure out how to track running/walking. Can it track cycling or swimming?
Great review! What watch do you have on your hand in this video? Looks great 😎
i don't' use it anymore but honestly, the best fitness watch I've ever had including the mi band 5 is the apple watch. it has almost unlimited workouts great GPS waterproof durable AF and good ven without a phone the only downside is nightly charging.
I have the ORIGINAL CASIO TOUCH SCREEN CALCULATOR ⌚ WATCH.
CASIO TC-600 !
what is the best smartwatch for always on display with great battery life. maybe solar or hybrid. i never understood why i have to flick my wrist and press a button to see the time....
I bet this guy is gonna grow just like linus media
I hope so!
Is there any waterproof smartwatch which can independently play music via built-in
memory or speaker, or via MicroSD card slot supporting at least 32 GB
with wired 3.5 headphone or via Bluetooth wirelessly for at least 10
hours continuously per charge?
Another great video...when you got to reason 5, I knew it was gonna be Active 2..but the fossil is a good watch, I played around with one at the store before the virus happened, I liked how smooth and easy it was to navigate
