Oxtail dishes sell out quickly here in the States so it should DEFINITELY be on the menu. I would try that Banh Mi just for the oxtail itself and stay for your fried chicken Banh Mi that I've seen on your channel. As a foodie, I was just introduced to your channel a few weeks ago and I have to say that you don't disappoint!! You're going to make me want to make a trip to Canada to visit your restaurant when it opens. Congrats to you on that btw!! 😁🥖😛🤤🤤

@TimoFaaumumu the point is to check how often it sells to update inventory to prevent loss.
Though I won't be surprise will feed left overs to people in need, donation or even family and friends.

At a donation center near by we get a lot of delicious goods from mom and pop restaurants..plus there is an app to pick up food near restaurants closing .

Perhaps for those who want to try out different styles of Bahn Mi you can offer flights of Bahn Mi comprising of 4-6 smaller half sized sandwiches? Also, you can have a menu where you would have "regular/traditional" styles of Bahn Mi as well as a "specials" menu (rotate the items every so often weekly/monthly etc) where you would offer your experimental/seasonal styles of Bahn Mi (some of which are charged at a more premium price due to the price of ingredients).

You're right Quang. Oxtail is always expensive here in Jamaica. Quang if we were close I would teach you how to cook tin mackerel and who knows, you'll probably make a mackerel Banh Mi.
I love Mackerel! But I don’t think a lot of people understand how delicious it really is! Haha
@@QuangTran. I agree bro. Almost once every week I had mackerel for dinner with either rice or green banana, dumpling and yam or sweet potatoes and sometimes pumpkin.

Bring back the times when oxtails were less than 3 dollars a pound. Now its priced similarly to steak! Same goes for chicken feet.

Chicken feet inflation is one of the most insane I’ve seen. I remember going to my local shop and buying a 5 pounds of chicken feet for 2$. It was essentially waste product. I don’t see a large increase in people’s consumption of it in the market but the price has skyrocket.

@@patriciahighton3117 it’s def a made taste. I usually munch on them when drinking cold beer. Just fry them in a pan with light oil and make it spicy and throw some cilantro, ginger and garlic …you can chew even the bones, it’s so brittle

I have no idea when the cuts of meats nobody wanted and the poor had to eat all of a sudden became so expensive. My grandmother used oxtails, chicken necks, neck bones etc. to flavor our pots of food in New Orleans but now what the poor survived on is now the highest most expensive pieces of meat. Very interesting.

Maybe you can just do a bo luc lac banh mi instead. Won't be as expensive nor as hard to work with and will taste delicious. Plus, it sticks to Vietnamese roots, but a different take on it.
Maybe you can include it 2-3 times a year for a week during Jamaican 🇯🇲 national holidays like emancipation day and heroes day! 🤔 ❤ 🥖
I think for something like this, you should offer maybe a special type of banh mi on the first Saturday of every month or whatever. You can rotate recipes you are testing out. It looks like you've got lots of combinations planned for all your banh mi's already and you may have too much ingredients on hand, which may not be used up before they spoil. Don't be overly ambitious with your restaurant until you've tested the waters first....especially in this economy.
