The Campaign was poorly marketed, hyping Locke vs Master Chief fight that was concluded in a cutscene. The game itself is locked to a Xbox, when the MCC is on PC/Xbox without Halo 5. The multiplayer had a lot going for it (yet again, limited to Xbox). 343 'Fumbled' ANOTHER Halo game due to incompetence.
Imagine inheriting one of the biggest First Person Shooters in history and instead of seeing what the fans loved, and continuing it, you instead said "How do we make it play like Call of Duty. Power Ranger edition."
I feel like I’m 1 of very few people who had very fond memories of this game. 343 really tried to make this game their own but people won’t allow anything other than bungies halo. The campaign was booty but the multiplayer was a blast. Ohhh the countless hours of custom games and assassination lobbies.
H5 had a lot going for it, especially for multiplayer. The problem was it had no accessibility and a limited market. The fact it isn't on MCC means a majority of players will not even play it. Either you owned a Xbox, or you did not.
I played through every halo game recently and honestly while not the best game in the franchise i really enjoyed the campaign. For context i haven't read any the expanded universe material My only issues were the length ,the fact that i pretty much only used promethean weapons not only because they were OP but because they were the only weapons i could find ammo for, the final boss, the plotline from spartin ops being dropped and Locke. I would have preferred Sarah Palmer being the main character. Now as far as positives i enjoyed switching between Osiris and Blue team, i enjoyed being sent to multiple places in the halo universe that were different from anything else ive ever seen in the games. I liked the story, the gameplay felt really smooth and not having to restart every time i was killed was nice.
there was definitely an idea behind the game, it was just poorly executed i feel. also i hate sarah palmer but that idea still makes more sense and blends with Halo 4 better than what we got.
It is quite clearly a Halo game. It wasn't a mistake and it's a hugely fun game, which dares to do new things with Halo. I'll never understand some of the vitriol aimed at this game, but credit to 343 for maintaining at least some of Halo 5's mechanics and gameplay in Halo Infinite.
It really wasn’t that bad. As someone who didn’t play it till later I had a blast with it. Yes, I enjoy the campaign. It was convolutes but none of the ideas were necessarily bad they just weren’t well executed
The online was really good, the gameplay the custom maps and unique game modes people made was so cool it kind of felt like reach. But I hate the req packs with a burning pation, don't lie we've all bought a req pack once or twice and the fact that you have a chance of getting no armour at all is complete crap. Because of that and the shit show of the campaign its my least favourite halo game.
I don’t think it’s as bad as people say, even the campaign. It’s not the greatest one but it’s serviceable. A lot of the criticisms were always very strange to me imo, like “why is Cortana bad that’s so out of character” Like the last time we saw her she split herself into multiple fragments in an alien computer system and was rampant. She could have been bad for any number of reasons and clearly either it wasn’t her or something happened. Now Infinite kind of retconned this and it was never explored further, but it’s just a weird criticism, like it’s just plot development.
Everyone loves saying 343 never should've gotten halo and should go back to Bungie. 343 is made from the people from Bungie that wanted to keep working on halo. It's a lot of the same team
@@ActuallyParty reach was good, but it's more of a standalone story to me, compared to the trilogy I mentioned. I meant that seeing the end of the war was where it should've ended, rather than trying to milk a cash cow for more than it's worth
*just don't try it on solo Legendary unless you want to hate your life for like 20 hours. It's easily the worst Halo campaign, but even that is better than a lot of shooters. Probably best to do a co-op experience so you don't have to worry about your pathetic AFK "squad mates" helping you out.
@partypoisonsexy more places. More charicters. More wepons. More vehicles. More enemies. More almost everything... granted, I think Halo 5's story sucks.... but so dose infinites.... its just a 343 way of doing things...

Halo 5 has a good multiplayer... For a fps game, not for halo. Halo 5 is not a good halo game.

Disagree totally that it's not a good Halo game. To me, it's always been a good Halo game.

my fault!
I feel like Halo 5's story derailed the entire main story of Halo. The books set during the created conflict are great though.
never read any books around halo5, might have to look into them

I also have very fond memories of this game, campaign and multiplayer both included. For me it's a superior game to Infinite.
Genuine question, how do you know who Fred is but not presumed Halo CE coop partner, sniper goddess Linda??

Halo 5 isn't halo anymore than that godforsaken TV show
And for very similar reasons
Oh dont worry. Millions and millions of people watch that Halo TV Show. When they play the games they will say "This is nothing like the show. 0/10"
