    Thanks for this, a really useful video. I'm flying Manchester-Dublin-Washington DC next spring with Aer Lingus (my first trans-Atlantic trip!) so I'll be sure to rewatch this before then. Some good tips and it's good to get an idea of the flight itinerary and the pre-clearance procedure.

      @@craigpenny289 glad you enjoyed it. I’ve flown Aer Lingus again in August and had a great experience! Enjoy your first trip to the US!

    Did this in 1990. The technology didn't exist to capture the experience. It's emotional as the journey differs not from my 35 year odyssey. Thanks man.

    Once United stop flying from Birmingham UK to Newark USA i was looking for a new way to get to the USA. I still wanted to go from Birmingham UK as we lived 10 mins from the airport. Now i fly to Dublin and then onto the USA. Pre Clearance is great as i have flow to JFK a few times and even with the extra flight i am no later in New York as i do not need to queue at the other end. Just another note the flights come out 1 year before and if you book as soon as the come out you get some good discounts for Business Class.My flight to Orland has a 3 hr lay over, the extra i payed to go next year was less than the extra food and drink at the airport.

      Thanks Mark. Good tip on booking flights early. We have flown indirect many times as it’s much more cost effective.

      Cheers Andy. They are grand. I still wish they threw in a few free drinks but hey-ho! We are actually using them to fly to Orlando via Manchester later this month. I’ve been saving up to buy myself a few drinks on the flight lol! When are you away next?

    13:31 Pre clearance is so volatile. Went through in June, no queue and took literally 3 mins. Saw photos from a couple of weeks before this and the queue snaked under the escalators with long waits. I’d always recommend people to assume it’s gonna be busy just in case 🤞

    • @thekennafamilyadventures5

      Thanks Scott. Yeah, last few times it seems they are only putting US citizens through full security again, whereas non-US travellers bypassed it and went straight to border control. How was your epic US trip by the way?

    Great video, thanks for the review. Yes this plane, the A321neo us also used by easyjet, this is just a modified version for long haul flights and they're becoming the future of long haul air travel with variants of this being made for even longer flights to places like florida from Europe

    What's the cabin baggage drop off at the check-in thing at Aer Lingus? Please help.

    • @thekennafamilyadventures5
      @thekennafamilyadventures5  3 месяца назад

      Hi, for hold bags it’s a self service system. Scan your boarding pass, put the bag on the scales and print the bag tags. You then drop them at the desk, which is also self service. Put the bag in the belt and the tags are scanned automatically. The bag goes down the belt and you get a receipt. It’s a great system. Sometimes, if the flight is full they will ask you to check your cabin bags for free. I’m never too keen to do this as I normally have things in my bag I need access to during the flight. I hope I answered your question. Thanks for watching and I hope the video was useful.

      Thank you so much for subscribing and for your question. You should have no issue taking those with you. Either in hold or cabin baggage. Shocking shakeup footage , it’s an Airbus a321 Neo , has 6500km range , few year old and in mint condition, they do have a policy to not film any staff that’s what the gate agent was trying to say, it’s 100% against Aer lingus policy to film any crews faces , even that fact you filmed people so personally women in business cabin could feel your camera should be mindful, nice video all the same

    • @thekennafamilyadventures5
      @thekennafamilyadventures5  Месяц назад

      Thanks Stephen. Yeah it’s hard to find the balance between getting genuine footage to help others and not capture others in the back ground. Fully aware of not filming the staff rule, they are very vocal about it anytime they see the camera.
