I may not agree with the OPT, but for any beginner, the OPT can definitely be used as a guide as you have stated.

Thanks for the insight. BTW, as I'm going through the NASM training, I've been adding some balance and speed drills to my heavy workouts. Great results. And fun. The most interesting combo has been Bosu Ball one-leg balances as I'm recovering from heavyweight Deadlifts! It's amazing, and I come for my next set refreshed. My progress had stalled, but the combo unlocked me. A month later, my Deadlift weight shooting upward toward my pre-COVID max.
Who'd a thunk? Well, besides NASM.

I've passed the exam and have spent a.lot of time trying to apply it to my own fitness my age my needs my genetics my DNA and its taken time but I'm so glad I studied it it has given me a great foundation to add and evolve with my own development . How you explain this is exactly what I've learned from it. Now I can relate to how it will be different for everyone and I now have a great starting point and to continue to learn more in continuing education to ad to it through the years ! its a great concept great science that has been developed through many decades of professional minds of research .

I have a new client I’m training, he’s deconditioned. I know the 7th edition states that I can do 8 reps during the stabilization phase. my question is how long do I keep him at that 8 reps? I’m planning to train him with 6-7 exercises per session.
