and for the very problem you have with the 2.5 gallon ( i'm watching the video ), that's why i bought another 5 gallon with 2 handles ( from amazon ) for mix, too. i go through mix quick enough that it's not sitting around forever. i hated the handle situation on the 2.5 too. i think i even sent them a message about it.
You don't have to look at the level when you're filling up with the NO SPILL, you just have to let the nozzle do it's job and fill it up and stop automatically.
The no spill is very very good. I've had mine for maybe 2years. I've been rough on it at times but it's still good as new. That little tiny issue of tilting the tank up and over is so not a issue at all. Trust me out of the 2gallon tanks no spill wins hands down. I love mine. I can see it lasting 10 20 years. Less moving parts. Everything on the no spill Is solid. The sure can is a little more delicate because of the moving parts. The ure can Is easier to see how much gas is in them. That's one advantage the 2gallon sure can has but other than that no spill 2 gallon wins. But when it comes to the 5gallon I say sure can wins.
Suitability of the no spill probably hinges on the type of use, whether for an automobile, or a motorcycle, or some lawn equipment like grass trimmer.

Not for anything, but you can fill your car with a no-spill. I know because I just filled our landscape truck with it. The spout head swivels, so you can turn the can sideways or upside down so the gas will pour completely out. We use no-spills for landscaping and love them. I will, however, be trying out the Surecan because I like what I see. Thanks for posting.
Bought a NoSpill and got it today.First thing the hook that is supposed to hook on the fill hole is useless. It won't hook.Buying a Surecanand put the No use away for hurricane use. Thanks for the video.
I really like my VP Racing motorsport fuel jugs especially when paired with the LC2 (fly racing) hose bender. I first saw these at my local motorcycle shop and they have served me well. Only "downside" is they are not CARB/EPA approved and only available in 5 gal; although there are now also VP branded surecans.
I can agree to disagree with this one! They both have pros and cons but I think it truly comes down to personally preference. My surecan had a catastrophic collapse the other day and will not pop back out. They are replacing it which is awesome but I would rather use the No Spill. But like I said it's truly a personal preference.
i have no spill cans....i took their spout heads off and put the old style spout heads onto them and then drilled 3 small holes at top of handle so gas can vent. i hate no spill cans way they were made to not vent and when hot, the cans want to look like they are about to explode. thanks for the great vid. now i need to go find me some surecans.
logdon17 Same here. I have several and some old military jerry cans. I drive 20 minutes for ethanol free gas- I carry about 20 gallons in cans Cannot beat the metal.
I like the no spill why because the sure can just leaks. I do like the spout on the sure can but just leaks. I bought 2 sure cans 5gal each and they are now both in the trash. Bought them both this year 2017 just very glad I kept the no spill. All my no spill gas cans have handles on the back of them. But then again its all about choice thats just what I like glad you like yours.
Most everything today is for the dollar and need to buy extra things. I've been considering the one you shared for a while. A 25 to 30 gal pump container is a great addition
I agree that No-Spill is difficult when its low on fuel, the cap lock is also a PITA. For me, the difference was the cost of the Sure-Can vs No-Spill. 2-gallons might last me a month, its no big deal. No-Spill works great on my push mower and it holds a quart, its not like filling a commercial mower.
You make good points. Just that everyone’s application is different. I have BOTH of these systems for different reasons. Like you, I feel the sure-can is better for most mower fill ups. I was however disappointed one time with how it imploded on itself when left mostly empty. It did eventually take its original shape back, and the company says this is “normal“ but I still don’t like that. I know what happens to a material when you bend it back and forth enough times in ways it wasn’t designed to do. Anyway, it works well. I like the No Spill in the 2 1/2 gallon, just like yours, for resting on top of a generator and only using one finger on the push button to fill. For any long term power outage gas storage, I have no replacement to the old fashioned metal Jerry cans. Best design ever. All three have a purpose at my place.
I am a landscaper and do hundreds of properties. The new sure can is trash. You would rather lift a sure can above your head to fill up your trimmers vs tip the no spill on its side next to your body like it's suppose to and watch the tank. I use the no spill with the second handle. The sure can is hard to fill, the gas cap cover falls off, no fuel sight, super slow and spills gas all over unless you let off ten seconds early. I filled up my scag and it takes a month of Sundays.
Same here why would you want to lift it over your head to put gas in, also we throw our gas cans (no spill) back on the shelves on the trailer they never brake.
No spill for small Equipment/Mix.... Sure Can for Mowers/ Straight Gas. Its pretty easy to see the useful design of each. I have both and will continue to have both until someone makes a better design.
I personally go to garage sales and look for old school gas cans for that reason. I had a 1 gal blitz can I use for my trimmers and blower this would be the golden ticket to find in my area. The new cans suck to fill up small and large equipment.
Of the two , I like the sure can better but I ain't paying $40 bucks for a gas can . I just use the $10 buck Wally world can and it has two handles. Works for me ! BTW , darn good review ! Thanks much !
I still have 4 -15 year old 5 gallon gas cans and a 1 gallon for pre mix, and my funnels are just as old 🤣. But They work and I and don’t stress about it.. a spill here and there comes with the job.
You are spot on with the no spill can. I am on nozzle number 3 since they all break where you tighten up the collar. I am not paying $13 beans again for a replacement on nospill. The warrenty is poor now. It used to be 10 years on no spill cans until they got bought out. Now on 3 years. Filling a kubota bx tractor with a 5 gallon no spill sucks. It flows so slow not even funny. The sure can is just as slow but easier to hold and built better. No holding a stupid button like on the nospill. Sorry, I will take my sure can to fI'll my equipment ( kubota, shindaws trimmers, Billy goats, etc). I felt bad tossing out a nospill can but not buying another nozzle for it.
“Who wants to hold a full gas can up in the air like this” - no spill Literally 30 seconds later...... “I can hold it up like this with one hand, it’s 2 gallons, it ain’t that heavy” - sure can
Convinced me! Thanks for the awesome comparison video. I need a can for auto, for running from hurricanes & waiting in "parking lot" evac. routes. WAS leaning toward 2.5 gal because of the weight of 5 (I'm no spring chicken) but with the Surecan I think I can handle it :)
No Spill Gets A+ Before switching companies. We used at least 20 No Spill gas cans. (2) 2.5 gal. and (1) 5 gal. were kept on each truck and used daily for 3 years. The cans were not treated delicately by any means, not a single problem occurred with any of the cans. I just replaced every metal can at my new company with No Spill. I would recommend them to any one looking for a superior and efficient gas can. You should never leave any gas can out it direct heat. If you choose to buy one you will quickly see any trouble you may have will be contributed to user error. Safe, efficient, durable, ergonomic. No Spill gets an A+.
It depends on set ups. I run a transfer tank full of gas and sometimes I run out of two stroke. The no spill shines because I can see exactly how much gas I'm putting in the can. The sure can is pretty nice in ease of use though.
I haven't used a sure can, so I can't say one way or the other which is best? But I do have a no spill that I use to fill my lawn mowers and chain saws and I love the can. On my ridding mower I put my foot up on either the mower or on a tire and let the can rest on my knee while filling the mower and it's very easy to fill the mower. No muscle strain at all. Still, I wouldn't mind trying the sure can. except I've seen quite a few reviews saying they have problems with them leaking and that's a big concern to me. My no spill never leaks! Regardless it's a personal preference, suppose it could be even what your use to using. Once you figure out the best easiest way to hold your cans while filling your equipment, it's hard to switch to another can that don't work the same way. the learning process starts all over again and many people don't want to learn another way and that irritates people
Have you considered the battery operated pump with the trigger handle to start and stop the flow of whatever you’re pumping. I haven’t used one yet but looking at purchasing soon.
That "SURE CAN" is disturbing to me and here is the reason. While convenient, I do not trust any can that has the hose at the bottom. Eventually the gasket will wear and then you will have fuel all over the place. No thanks.........
Thanks for this video, I was debating weather by the 2 g surecan or not . I already have the 5g. Sir question for you, I have a stilh blower and a husqvarna weed eater, what type of brand mix should I use?
It's personal preference u can't change some people's minds and I'm a no spill guy the surecans r too expensive for a can and I have had a sure can and I like the no spill better
There not free, and your giving it away. That don’t make sense. But, it comes down to what application your using the can for, make sense? I have both and I like them both. They both have there cons and pros.
I have 2 no spill and it does not stop for me and it does balloon up like crazy but I already have them. Good compare to other sh..t but I will try surecan, at least for the mixer soon.
Keith Koch mine didnt stop automatically either. On the surecan just make sure to stop a little early on filling from what’s in the spout and you’ll like it
i agree. how many times does he over spill and have a mess or release fuel into the air or gas/oil mixture. It auto stops it makes sense to me but free country he likes the other good for him but I prefer the higher flow rate of no spill and auto stop when fuel reaches nozzle rim automatically. Thank you for your review I enjoyed it btw!
John Padilla Thanks for watching and commenting. The auto stop feature you speak of and they advertise never worked. I was told it was possibly because I was using the can for mixed fuel? Not sure what the reason is behind it never working but it still started leaking gas within a month out the spout without touching the button release. Either way I wasn’t buying another can to see if it did the same thing. Your definitely correct that no spill does have the better flow rate. I purchased 1 gas can to review and maybe I got a bad one. I reached out to the manufacturer several times about the issue before I ever released a video with no response. So this is what my personal experience was.
I have a 5 gallon no spill. I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. The only difference is that one has a shot on the top and one has a spout from the bottom. You hold them the same way whether there is a handle or not. My only complaint about the no spill is that mine has a bunch of splits in the spout after sitting in the sun for 2 years
I'm a no spill guy not knocking the sure can it looks like it works great but I'm loyal so staying with no spill also my 5 gallon does have a handle I just did a double check on it right after the video couldn't remember lol
I bought one sure can thought I was gonna love I got to gas station after I left the store and put gas in looked down and all my gas was going all over the ground lol I put the rest the gas in my truck and took the sure can back to store and got my money back. I really wish it would have worked out for me. I might give it another try and see if I can get a good one.
i bought a bunch of no spills, used two of them. and went to fill my mower the lid popped off...same thing happened when went to fill my tractor with another can, lid popped off both times dumped several gallons.
What I did not like about the sure can was when filling the string trimmer it kept dripping and dripping and yes still dripping. This was on the first day I got it. I bought 2 new sure cans and only used 1 and they both went into the trash can. One was never used and into the trash and they cost way too much . So the bottom line is some like the sure can and some hate the sure can. I have the no spill with the handle on the back. As far as filling the car the car has a gas gauge the E on the gas gauge does not stand for ever lasting it stands for EMPTY fill the car or truck up at the gas station . Also the sure cans I bought was this year may 2017 so it was not an older model. There you have it some like it some do not the sure can is not for me.
remember gas gauges don't always work or are inaccurate. I have a dodge the fuel gauge been replaced 3 times and it still doesn't work right. The guage sticks in different positions all the time. It can say 1/4-1/2 full and be dry as a bone! In other cases, like people that go playing up in the mountains 4 wheeling, their vehicle may not hold enough fuel to go everywhere and there's no gas stations anywhere! You best have your gas cans full with you or your not going to be coming home anytime soon! So it's not just a matter of watching your gas guage, there's certain situations where you end up with a empty tank you weren't planning for!
I hate no spill. It still spills and the mechanism on mine continued to jam. Threw out the nozzle and replaced with old fashioned nozzles I bought on line. Can’t fill up the auto with no spill. Looking seriously at sure can.
i like the Midwest Can from O'reilly Auto Parts. never tried anything else though. would like to try other types if i could. What kind of rack do you use in your garage to hang your trimmers and stuff Lanier? i need something like that to hang my stuff on lol
I have the same issue or least I did. I put some Vaseline on the threads of the can to help it screw on and off easier. plus the Vaseline also works as a seal to some degree too. Seems the more I use the can taking the cap on and off the easier it is too. hopefully it'll work itself in where it's easier over time?
I bought one last month. Haven't used yet, but not anticipating taking that lock safety feature off. As for making a vent, can't one just loosen the black cap a bit, to get all the venting you would ever want or need? Watched a video where someone was talking about drilling a hole to get more air, and putting a car tire valve in, and have to take the little cap off all the time, and probably drop or lose all the time. Isn't it easier to just spin the big cap a little, saving a lot of hassle? Was telling the salesman at Lowe's about the guy wanting to drill a hole, and he agreed, just spin the cap a little.
I remember back before the stupid epa started this safety can bs i used to get 5 gallon cans for 5 or 6 bucks but thats what the epa is good at ruining crap from trimmers to small engines and a lot of lawn related stuff i remember when it started i was suprised the industry and the consumers didnt stand and fight now we are having to deal with it
No spill spills. It is hard to depress. It needs a paraphene lube to stop locking up. But they do work if you can see level to stop.
As far as holding it up, the no spill has auto shut off when its full.
😂 i don't even have to watch the video, i'm still no spill all day.
and for the very problem you have with the 2.5 gallon ( i'm watching the video ), that's why i bought another 5 gallon with 2 handles ( from amazon ) for mix, too. i go through mix quick enough that it's not sitting around forever. i hated the handle situation on the 2.5 too. i think i even sent them a message about it.
me to i love the no spill
You don't have to look at the level when you're filling up with the NO SPILL, you just have to let the nozzle do it's job and fill it up and stop automatically.
Sounds more like a rant than a useful comparison.
Looks like it has something to do with the way this guy is normally speaking.
The no spill is very very good. I've had mine for maybe 2years. I've been rough on it at times but it's still good as new. No spill isn't even close to sure can.

I did have a no spill I got for Christmas. and had the same problems. so I gave it to my dad for him to use at his body shop
I use the SureCan 5-gallon and it is by far the best can I have ever used. It beats every can I have ever used!
Appreciate the video. Helpful demonstration and real-world common sense.

I bought an old metal one somebody restored, so much easier than these new EPA plastic disasters.
logdon17 Same here. I have several and some old military jerry cans. I drive 20 minutes for ethanol free gas- I carry about 20 gallons in cans Cannot beat the metal.
You are 100% right, we have a short can in are lawn care 👍👍
I know this was years ago, but if I'd have been local, I'd have bought the No-Spill from you. Works great for me.
I like the no spill why because the sure can just leaks. I do like the spout on the sure can but just leaks. I bought 2 sure cans 5gal each and they are now both in the trash. I certainly respect your opinion, I have both, run 2cycle in the no spill and regular in sure can, that's what works for me
Most everything today is for the dollar and need to buy extra things. I've been considering the one you shared for a while. A 25 to 30 gal pump container is a great addition
I agree that No-Spill is difficult when its low on fuel, the cap lock is also a PITA.
Love your video.
Sure Can best ever.
No spill for small Equipment/Mix.... Sure Can for Mowers/ Straight Gas.
Its pretty easy to see the useful design of each. I have both and will continue to have both until someone makes a better design.

I have the old school gas can new ones suck hands down. No safety valve or special lever just tip and poor. I like the sure can better.
Though ,if a no spill is pressurized and you push the button she’ll spit on you
What is the best gas for your mower
Of the two , I like the sure can better but I ain't paying $40 bucks for a gas can . I just use the $10 buck Wally world can and it has two handles. Works for me ! BTW , darn good review ! Thanks much !
I still have 4 -15 year old 5 gallon gas cans and a 1 gallon for pre mix, and my funnels are just as old 🤣. But They work and I and don’t stress about it.. a spill here and there comes with the job.
9:54 valid point, but if you flip it upside down, you can get everything out at an angle without spilling.

Question what if they stop making sure can’s what will be your next can!
I’d probably get the metal eagle can
I'll stay with the No-Spill that's why they make the No-Spill 206 Flexible Spout Extension
I'll take it. it fits under box. i don't have had trimmers. surecan loks nice though.
Who refuels anything at eye level? Anything I refuel is on the ground and i prefer to use a metal gas can.
No Spill does the job for my saws Mr. Lanier. BUTT! Being from Maine, I can't get a word you're saying. You are exciting however... whatever.
So you have to hold the surecan higher than the no spill...makes sense??
I noticed that also
Thanks. This was useful. I can see the sure can is better for my kids... seems much safer for them to handle.
How many times did he have to go pick up the gas can after tossing it away
Have you considered the battery operated pump with the trigger handle to start and stop the flow of whatever you’re pumping. I haven’t used one yet but looking at purchasing soon.
You should try the fuelworx gas cans. Much better
That "SURE CAN" is disturbing to me and here is the reason. While convenient, I do not trust any can that has the hose at the bottom. Eventually the gasket will wear and then you will have fuel all over the place. No thanks.........

You can release the pressure in the Surecan by squeezing the handle.
And gas will go every where

i bought a bunch of no spills, used two of them. and went to fill my mower the lid popped off...same thing happened when went to fill my tractor with another can, lid popped off both times dumped several gallons.
Do not know how to screw on a cap? What's going on is this
What I did not like about the sure can was when filling the string trimmer it kept dripping and dripping and yes still dripping.
John Bailey I agree. Everyone has an opinion. It's like the chevy vs ford or stihl vs echo. Some get lemons and others never have issues
remember gas gauges don't always work or are inaccurate.
Great comparison! 👍😎👊
Buy a wavian Jerry can. They’re the best hands down.
I like the sure can better then no spill
You had me at "fill up your vehicle". I've always hated that gas cans don't have the vehicle filling compatibilities.
No-Spill makes a flexible spout extension to deal with this issue.
@@warped2875 that probably should have been the default configuration rather than an accessory.
i like the Midwest Can from O'reilly Auto Parts. never tried anything else though. would like to try other types if i could.
What kind of rack do you use in your garage to hang your trimmers and stuff Lanier? i need something like that to hang my stuff on lol
Do you still have the no-spill gas can?
Another good video great info
I use normal gas cans they work , never had a problems . But I'm sure a lot of guys use both of them gas cans .
sure can all the way. its sure can or no can. maybe if they put a long flexible hose on the no spill then maybe just maybe it would work better
the url was a mile long, but they have them on amazon for cheap.
No-Spill is what works for me.
We do not fill the trimmers on the rack. We take them down. (Why 2.2 when mix comes in 2.5...
Did you put the greentouch racks back on?
Twin Trimmers Lawncare no
I like the idea of the sure can and was wondering how they work.
I agree ballard!
Trust me, it's completely full!
When you threw the can it stood upright lol the can said Fuck you!!!! Lol
SOLD!!! damn you LLC!! Another item i have to hide from the wife lol real talk good video and thanks for the great videos
The biggest problem I have with no spill is getting the fill cap off. Small hands.
Danny looked a little heated at times in this one!
We need to get the No Spill Nozzle on the Sure Can. The we have the Perfect Gas Can for sure, by sure can. Does that make sense?
EL EVO my no spill nozzle leaked within a month and the automatic stop never worked
@@LanierLawnCare - Have heard the same thing from SEVERAL people. Those Never Spills are crap!
sure can for sure, now remove that safety lock out, put a vent in the black cap and it works awesome!!
I remember back before the stupid epa started this safety can bs i used to get 5 gallon cans for 5 or 6 bucks but thats what the epa is good at ruining crap from trimmers to small engines and a lot of lawn related stuff i remember when it started i was suprised the industry and the consumers didnt stand and fight now we are having to deal with it
"I ain't gotta do anything"?
Sure can may be fine if you can afford it. I haven't seen price of the no spill.
Did anyone else but me notice at 1:00 he threw that no spill and it landed
Why dint you check the can out before you bought it?!?! 🤔
Makes sense to me...
waiting for the breakaway once, falling off from your ATV and you will go back to the No-Spill
Nice trick shot at one 1:00
Sure Can and No Spill need to make metal models. Plastic is fine but I prefer metal any day.
