- Freddie Mercury
Somewhere, Freddie Mercury is smiling and laughing.
In Heaven ;(
@Joseph Joestar hush...
Damn Christofascists fog with your self righteous dominionist bullshit
2:38 this brass solo absolutely moved me
THE POWER OF VIOLA
Verdade😢.
Absolutely beautiful. It may have been introduced as rock and roll but he poured his heart and soul into this when he wrote it. I've never heard this played by a full orchestra before. I only wish my wife were alive to hear it. She loved this piece of music. In my home opinion this will one day grow to be a symphonic masterpiece. And demonstrated here, it certainly proved that it belongs in a category all its own. Bravo.
This makes me glad to be alive.
I can safely say that this is one of the best things that I've seen on RUclips.
you can see the classical music criteria Freddie Mercury had from so far away.... there will never be anyone like him. amazing this... outstanding!!!!
Damn that trumpet player though.
He played well but a little bit too loud!
WOW. This is pure perfection. You just nailed it with every nuance in this masterpiece, it is beautifully arranged and perfectly played. The trumpet solo is just amazing. Nicholas- your arranging and conducting skills are legendary.
I always wondered how that would have sounded via orchestration. It was not disappointing. Amazingly well done.
As a Marine combat veteran, I would like to thank you and those other musicians for creating such beautiful music, for, it reminds me that the sacrifices made by veterans and active military are not squandered by everyone.
I wish I could like a video more than once. Seriously. I can't give this thing enough love.
liked for you :)
OMG THAT TRUMPET SOLO ! in love !
Yeah, but they didn't let it finish Q_Q.
Eyye don't see a viola solo very often ☺️
thats cause violas suck, us violins are cool
nah jk violas are cool ig
One of my favourite songs played by an instrument that isi near and dear to my heart!
The more somber tones of the viola fit this song perfectly.
When we think of the central message of the song, the adaptation suits perfectly. I’m listening again and again!
What an absolutely perfect instrument to characterize freddy's voice!
"You can do whatever to my music, just don't make it boring"
- Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Bohemian Rhapsody one of the best songs until this day :D

kjohnabbott 3:00 shivers down my spine :) and starting at 4:54 oh yea and my head set vibrates. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard be played by an orchestra. Truly Genius
One of the best versions of bohemian Rhapsody i've ever heard.
This is such a beautiful arrangement. When I listen to it I feel sad and it reminds me of Freddie :(
Best non-vocal rendition *ever*!!! Cheers to the _arranger_ and _soloists_ - great job!
what's so great is that you know everyone is singing the words as this plays
'' people who say you cant do magic by waving a wand in the air probably never went to any good synphony/orchestra live''

This unbelievable - I love it. Makes me inspired to keep writing and exposes the true genius of Freddie Mercury and the rest of Queen. What a piece, what a performance and a great arrangement too! Congrats to all.
this gives me chills every time I watch it.
this made me cry...
OUTSTANDING! BRAVO! Freddie Mercury would surely be proud.
I put this up on my blog to post tonight at 10 pm Central Time. Many Kudos to all!

After years of practice and being labeled as a "Band" nerd..... Then you get to play this!!!! Priceless!!!!
Wow. Music can narrate beyond the narration of words... to the point where one is left speechless.
This is the best instrumental version I'd ever heard in all my life, is really amazing, excellent, congratulations. I love it.
This just blew me away completely. I wish I could have been there while this was played live. You all did an absolutely wonderful job with this.
I am in LOVEE with this arrangement! Absolutely beautiful & props to the trumpet solo!
Well that was far more amazing than I expected!!! This song has always meant a lot to me since I very first heard it when it came out. Bravo to the orchestra, Freddie would be very proud indeed~ 👍
I have had this on replay for about an hour now!..... Love it
And you still can't help but sing along with it.
When I got to the part of "Mama, just killed a man..." I nearly bust out laughing. THANK YOU, again!
I love how much the conductor is feeling this... This is just so beautiful
This is the best arrangements, I love this more than any other orchestra cover of this song. This is the best
Indiana University and Queen. Two of my favorite things. Awesome doesn't even begin to describe this version. Well done, Mr. Hersh. You led some great talent and Ms. Harball was fantastic. But then again, this is coming out of the IU School of Music, so I don't expect anything less. Bravo.
Beside the like button they need a most-amazing-thing button. Bravo, this was SO well done.
I love how this has been translated into an orchestral piece - the vocals Queen uses lends so nicely to this form. And I love the viola for something different - it has such a beautiful mellow sound which can also be very powerful!
That was just so beautiful and inspiring. Wonderful arrangement and it shows the brilliance of Freddie Mercury and Queen.
That was absolutely amazing!
For such a Advanced sounding piece , all the sharps and flats, quite amazing, but what really gives the Flavor is one might call it , was the Splendid Violist, i myself, thought it was lovely, although i am just one person, anyone with fine taste could see, although, I myself was over joyed before watching this because I myself Play the Viola, I'd like to compliment the Intonation of everyone at all times, lost of practice must have gone into this piece indeed.Good Job.
I have watch other orchestral version of this song and they do not compare! Not even the London Philharmonic! This is stunning! Shivers down my spine indeed!
best tribute to the QUEEN and Mercury music.. ever..
The viola and flute--so beautiful.
You know what I love about this it incorporated the different styles of Classical Music with what little I know starting with the very classical Violins then the flutes with a touch of Jazz with the Sax or Horns then the William Overtelll/ school drumline feel on the end
Lovely viola playing - well done!
"All due credit to Queen in their infinite glory" Classy upload Nicholas Hersh, well played sir.
L'arrangement est PARFAIT ! Rien à dire un grand BRAVO !!!
Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic.. This translates so well into orchestral... wow!!!
Since no one is really talking about the basses... GO BASSES! Because I play the bass. :)
Wolf Storm
I play viola 🎻
Wolf Storm violin all the way baby
same represent
Go YOU!
This is absolutely marvellous
This song lends itself really well to orchestral arrangements like this... Pretty awesome.
Beautiful. I'm not normally a big Queen fan but that was simply fantastic. Loved it.
Emocionante!!! Me arrepiei e chorei. Lindo
Loved the whole thing, Viola, wow
Soooo many goosebumps!!!! Sooo freaking amazing.
Such a beautiful arrangement!
So proud of it, almost cried.....and I believe Freddie Mercury will be feel amazing
Finally immortalized in Classical History.
Sounds so presidential, and theatrical at the same time. Simply stunning!!!!
this was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard I love music but now I Adore music the sound alone makes life worth living
Sarah is great,but I agree,Patrick's trumpet solo rock's
Beautiful! I come back to this every few months. I like this version better than the later studio recording, but both are outstanding.
I think the pacing is slightly better on the studio version but this is still amazing
that trumpet was on fiiirrrrrrrreeeee
This is like my 6th time watching/hearing this. Great job!
Hermoso. The Queen unió en esta magistral melodía el rock con la ópera. Ver interpretar a una sinfónica este clásico contemporáneo, la hace magistral. Bien ganados los 4 Oscares 2019.
You'd never expect a Viola solo, but it was really perfect in this piece tbh.
Absolutely gorgeous and a real tribute to Freddy and the boys of Queen.
I like this 100% better than the studio version. Feels a lot more real. Much more like a performance and less "staged". Sometimes, it's the small imperfections that creates "the moment" you'll remember all your life.
This is a great orchestral version. It would be great if you upload a orchestral version of "The Millionaire Waltz"
Got chills!!!!!!! RIP Mercury
A friend posted this on her FB page via wimp.com. Blown away by the fact that I had never heard a symphonic version of this song, I searched for any of the biggies' versions of this, and I found London Symphony Orchestra and London Philh. versions, among others, and I have to say your arrangement is far superior to, and certainly more faithful to the original, than either LSO or LPO, and the musicianship is almost as good ...at least to my untrained ear! Incredible effort! This HAS to go viral!
Superb, Excellent, Amazing!
That trombone glissando, though..was awesome lol
superb version of the Bohemian rhapsody :) moved me very much and im sure freddy likes this :)
This is lovely it made me like classical music even more
this is amazing!!
That was beautiful!
gives me chills everytime
Absolutely beautiful
This is really amazing!
Major goosebumps when watching this!! :) Might give this a try myself one day on my Viola :)
just incredible!!
Nicholas, a truly AMAZING arrangement. None of what is in here isn't authentic Queen, but you realized the vision Freddie had when coming up with it. Parts of this truly sound like they were always meant to be heard this way, particularly the "opera" section. It sounded right out of a Rossini overture! Bravo to you. Brava to the violist. Bravo to the trumpeter, bravi to the orchestra! Do the world a favor and publish this arrangement (if you haven't already).
In fact, almost all Freddie's compositions have symphonyc bases...😊
wow i do not know why but tears starts coming down my eyes... it is just so beautiful music...
this is so great i swear
For pity's sake, this needs to be officially released as a single or something! Amazing. I would buy this in a blink.
I LOVED IT!!!
Wow that was great, awesome job.
Really great rendition!
I play the viola and this makes me so freaking happy. Would love the sheet music...also, thank you for making Freddy a violist...this was awesome! :D
greatness i got chills
False harmonics - notate the pitch you want 2 octaves down, plus a diamond notehead a perfect fourth above. Check out the wikipedia page on artificial harmonics, it's got a good example.
i have goosebump all over my body..
Beyond Extraordinary!
Sounds so beautiful :' )
