OMG this short brings back so much memories ! I remember a few months ago I wanted to get more used to colors pencils, so I used a lot of your tutorials! Thank you so much for sharing tips with us, simple but very helpful as always 😊
@@Shamhbhavi well I guess she gives better tips than me xD But if I had to say something, it would surely be a lot of practice of course, and maybe not press too hard on the color pencils so you can erase easily! Experiment, even if the drawing doesn't look good at the end, you'll learn something. And the most important, have fun! ;)
you as an artist have particularly taught me how effective green can be on the face. it's so wonderful to see it done from start to finish, thank you :)
as Arleesha from the channel arleebean taught me quite a while ago; color doesn't matter as long as the value is right! That's why this approach works so well, you can play with the colors and it will look good as long as the values are correct!
I'm new to using coloured pencils. I saw this on pintrest and tried recreating it, but it didn't turn out so well. I'm happy I came across this video cause now I have an idea on how to go about drawings like these🙂
Hi y’all!! I know a lil abt color theory I think correct me if I’m wrong but that light shade of yellow is the under tone!! If you were to put the under tone to somthjng like pink, it would give it a cherry like vibe experiment!! with your image in your head or the refrence Infront of you think of it in one color and put it as the under tone!! Hope I helped :)
While watching this my toxic trait tells me that I can do that easily but then after I finish coloring my portrait while following this vid, it's not that sucks.. i'm quite impress on myself I think this tuts help me and maybe if I kept practice and practice I can achieve that quality.
Have been neglecting colour pencils since I feel like I couldn't do anything more with them, but after watching this, I definitely gotta try this technique! :D
Honestly most sketchbook papers are adequate I find! :D This is done in the canson XL mix media sketchbook I believe. Any drawing papers that have a bit of tooth to them as opposed to being super slick and smooth should work well! :)
I think so! Would just have to be more mindful of the colours your layering over top of one another since the effect is more immediate, but I basically use this concept of applying colours across any media I use! :)
Does your process work with other types of color pencils? I see you use prismacolor, which is wax-based, would something oil-based like polychromos work for you, you think?
If you find this helpful I have a fully narrated video that uses the same color pencil process! :) ruclips.net/video/Q7a2XB_kMVQ/видео.html
The link doesn’t work!

I should tone the paper more. I absolutely LOVE your portraits!!
Yes! I was always curious how people use colored pencils for portraits. After getting bored with pencil I'm definitely giving this a try.
Wow such a quick and helpful breakdown. I always wondered how artists used colors you wouldn't think would work well together.

Great technique. Is the music in the background a re-mix of Montefiore Brothers? Thanks.
Looks like she had a makeover though art better quality then photo 💯
your picture is very succesful
how do u get areas so smooth and polished like the nose? When I use pencils they done smooth out and are all sketchy kind of like the hair
Can you recommend on book to teach blending and colors?
Wow, it was actually helpful, could you make a video with dark skin too? Im not really into coloring my drawings but it would be nice to start
Which colour pencils are good for portraits
Love this process. What type of paper do you use for this medium?
Honestly most sketchbook papers are adequate I find! :D This is done in the canson XL mix media sketchbook I believe. Any drawing papers that have a bit of tooth to them as opposed to being super slick and smooth should work well! :)
lindo ❤
This is extremely cool! I wonder if a similar process might work for alcohol markers?
I think so! Would just have to be more mindful of the colours your layering over top of one another since the effect is more immediate, but I basically use this concept of applying colours across any media I use! :)
@@ChrisHongArt awesome! I’ll have to try it
My toxic trait is that I think I can do this 😶
You make it look so beautiful and simple, but when I try..... let's say it doesn't look remotely similar 😂
Lol I wonder if these same ideas could apply to digital- TwT
so you did a verdaccio for your drawing
Does your process work with other types of color pencils? I see you use prismacolor, which is wax-based, would something oil-based like polychromos work for you, you think?
I actually use Polychromos as well! And I use them together 😅 it doesn’t seem to make a difference to me, mixing the different bases!
Please give credit musical artist.
You real
Music annoying as hell so I didn’t watch it.
You know you can just mute the video or slide your volume down and still watch the video mate?

i love the music, it's so quirky and fun :D and the tempo was just right!
@@ChrisHongArt The music is fun! I'm vibin' 💕
I liked that it was quirky and upbeat. It's fun like her art.
