Thanks for the vid - really useful. While I have a pillar drill in the workshop (shed) it’s not exactly portable and there are many times I need to bore a hole at 90 degrees to the surface. I’m crap at freehand alignment 😝

Try turning the drill round 180 deg so that the weight of the handle and cable are over the uprights. May reduce the wobble by balancing it.

Stretch the spring, oil it lightly too.

By time set that up I would of drilled the hole gone for a pint come back and painted the ceiling 😂
