Thank you folks, that was really good. Mary wasn’t called Bloody Mary until a bit into Elizabeth’s reign was she? It’s sort of like PR today. Elizabeth had to ‘prove her worth’ in a way. Different religion - again - the daughter of Anne Boleyn which, no matter which way you spin it, sort of put you on the back step regardless. She had to prove her worth . I.e - Mary was bad therefore I’m good.
I think I read that actually Elizabeth had killed more people than Mary ( mind you, she reigned a lot longer) and their father still has the ‘top spot’. It was fashionable to belittle Mary if that’s the way to describe it. Elizabeth did have many, good people around her . Spies, espionage, PR. It’s the trend now to redeem Anne so perhaps Mary could be next. I’ll try to look up the Royal Collection, knowing me I’ll end up in the San Francisco Dog Shelter. It’s happened, don’t laugh. True . When I library went ‘tech’ and you couldn’t reserve books at the desk anymore, must be on line. Well, I did it! Soooooo clever. I wanted Hypatia and reserved it at the Philadelphia Public Library. How? That’s what our library wanted to know. As I live in country South Australia , either dogs or books would have had a long trip. I’ll try , that’s all I can say. Thank you again so much 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺

I have a question: dud Mary ever witness the burning executions she signed off on? Did her father ever attend any of the executions that took place during his reign?
